Roby you've improved a lot and are legitimately very good now. I could feel your power level.

I'm gonna be the first to say it since nobody else has the balls to, but Noobking, your wins on top players are janky as **** LOL.

I also think it's a bit early to put Tiep back on the ranking.

Just like how Sion had a bad tournament and Tony missed one tournament, but we don't change their placings, Tiep's one tournament seems insufficient to just put him in.

Regarding people who are next in line for PR, I think I'm about even with Mike, he beat me in pools at Stronghold 2, and I beat him in loser's. Nathan is a bit better than I am, but I dunno how he and Michael fare against each other.

"a win is a win" is ***** logic for determing PR placement. You think that **** would fly in Socal or Norcal? c'mon lol

I played both Nathan and Eric a bit at NWM. At that time, I had a tougher time against Nathan, though that might just be matchup.

@Toph: It depends what you mean by "janky". If you mean that the wins were not dominant (ie. mostly 1-stock matches, or high percent), then I would say that a win is indeed a win. It could be, for example, that someone plays matches by attrition, arranging their playstyle so that the match is frequently close. If, however, you mean that the matches were "janky" in that the two players were not legitimately playing near their skill level, then I would agree with you. Beating my Peach while I'm high as a kite would not mean very much.

It is a credit to Adam that he seems to be able to contend with high-ranking players and from time to time even beat them. It is a discredit to him that he keeps losing to players who he considers himself better than.

yeah, that's an even bigger point against him, his inconsistency. didn't he lose to nathan the tournament right after he beat silent wolf? he lost to matt, then beat sion. that's a fairly bumpy track record, despite two wins against the best players in the region.

This post is for Michealblufalco

Well guys I have done this before, but this time it's for serious. I'm done with Super Smash Brothers. I have no time for it these days for pretty much what Micheal said (work, gf, other interests, etc.) and I have lost interest in the game overall (it was fun to play it a bit here and there for sure). I had a BLAST competitively with this game and meeting all the locals here and meeting people from all around the world! It has helped me developed as a person and the learning steps that took me to get as good as I am at the game.

Anyways perhaps I will see you around from time to time and check out how the smash community is doing. So... take me off the PR for I will be inactive and put Mike on there cause he deserves it.. lol. Goodbye for now everyone I will miss you all.

GG Eric. I shall still see you around!

Toph: Mhm. But those wins aren't that easy either, haha. No one is saying they are better, just that it means something rather than nothing. It's good to keep the details in mind, though.

Forever amigos, Eric.

And it was an honor to win teams with you at your last tournament. ^_^

Let's hang out sometime while we're up there, and bring me poutine.

a poem for u my mentor and friend. :falcomelee:

i look back in time
and find myself wondering

did i remember to thank you enough
for all uve done for me?
for all the times u smash with a scrub like me
to help and support me

to congratulate my improvements
to understand my mistakes
and to deal with my frustration?
or for teaching me by ur example
the spacing, the edgeguards
the good decisions and the combos?

i wonder if i thanked you
for stealing ur time
to help me get better?
and for the simple things
like smiles n laughters n the fun times we shared?

if ive forgotten to show my
gratitude for all the things u did
im thanking you now
and hope u knew all along
how great a teacher and friend u are to me

You're one of the first person I ever met and played against (inperson) in the smash community, Eric. Although I never really got to know you, (and you didn't remember me) you'll always be someone that I look up to as a player because you were the very best around when I first dipped my foot in the smash community, the first person to meet and play with me, make me realize how much of a scrub I was, and show me how bad of a character young link is LOL.

Thanks for representing BC in all you have accomplished and good luck in all your times ahead moving forward in life! :D

Had to come here to see it for myself!

GGs, Eric.

Thank you for introducing me to the competitive smash scene, helping me along the way, and everything else you've done for me and the rest of the community. This unique experience wouldn't have been possible without you <3

As for all the Vancouver players, I decided not to make a goodbye post some time ago and just consider myself inactive instead and give the game a chance to spark my interest again. I didn't want to be that guy who says he's quitting, then, ya'know .... etc etc. I think I speak for more then myself here though (being both part of Victoria and Okanagans smash scenes at some point) when I say the $100/per trip and 5-9 hours transit one way [Oka/Vic dependent] was worth it to meet and hang out with all you guys and play this amazing game.

Everything has its time though, and for me that time has past.

I'm in Vancouver often for squash tournaments, so I'm hoping to get out to a smash tournament and see you guys before the end of summer for old times sake. If not, if any of you are ever headed to the Island I'd gladly play again.

Daltsy out. *shoutouts to Eric again for the sweet exit line*

It's all good man, people get older and other things keep you busy. But everyone can make time at least once in a while to show up and hang out with the smashers. Even if it's only like once every few months.. or once a year. Nobody really "quits" this game haha. ;)

but yeah we should def play more this summer. <3

welp, gg's guys.

My sense of time is so warped, tim still seemed like a 'newcomer' somehow. how many years has it been since he showed up to one of jack's sfu smashfests claiming to suck, then preceding to 4-stock me?
