By the way, I wanted to laugh when Omni said "ninja'd by edrees" I wanted to post "you have no idea how true that is" of course i wasn't gonna reveal myself right there though ;)

Your conversation with Omni struck me as RIDICULOUSLY scummy like I said, that and you started being rather inactive that last day.

Regardless, I didn't think it was a sure bet (at least later in the game), I just wanted to bandwagon you for info at that point, I actually wanted to kill marc the day you died. If DM/pierce had been active...

Similar reason, his play was way too safe.

Plus, I really really didn't like the tunneling, I knew something was up.

By the way, I wanted to laugh when Omni said "ninja'd by edrees" I wanted to post "you have no idea how true that is" of course i wasn't gonna reveal myself right there though ;)
Lol, yeah.

However even if we knew, I wouldn't have voted to eliminate you yet.

^I think you and I should have been more careful. We should have known with only 4 to lynch, we shouldn't vote to someone just for tbe bandwagon, knowing full well there's at least 2 mafia left most likely, and they could go in for the kill. Just tips for our next game in case something like that comes again.

one of hte best lines from ff6

I figured that was ridiculously stupid for them to do... but the perils of open games, they had a double-voter.

Hell, the reality is, we had the same problem when you voted for them, he could've double-voted late in the game when somebody voted a townie, given a strong case and we'd have know less.

Double-voter is ridiculously strong in lylo and almost-lylo.

Hell, I was actually HOPING mafia would do that, I didn't think the remaining mafia would be "stupid enough to".

^See Adumbrodeus, you and I are friends.

Lol, nice. *pound*

SK and town combo, unstoppable!

It's true that you guys were simply too reckless with the votes for BarDulL, especially since suspicion wasn't just with him. Putting in half the required votes to pressure someone is a lot.

Tee hee. Posting restrictions are fun. D1 resulted in warnings, and after that it was -1 vote tl lynch for each mess up.
I completely enjoyed thinking up absolutely ridiculous posting restrictions. Too bad Pierce never got to post with the one I gave him.
Just for the record, his restriction would've been to post I was frozen today! in every post.

That being said, I originally intended to have people post quotes from FF6 (hence I had swordgard post "thou" for mimicking Cyan as first restriction). I even considered giving someone the restriction to post "Fwee hee hee!" and a laughing Kefka-sprite.

I'm definitely going to run another Mafia game in the BBR soon (maybe Chrono Trigger?), definitely a smaller one that's not quite as complex. I prefer unique roles and the like to boring "you're vanilla townie" roles. I always remembered hating getting "vanilla" in real life games and having the time of my life when I was doctor, cop, or mafia, so my own personal rule is to have as few plain-vanilla roles as possible. Even roles that are detrimental, and thus worse than vanilla, like Umaro are more fun... and that's what it's about.
I totally agree with you, nothing is more boring than being a simple townie, hence I loved the fact everyone had an ability of some sort.
If you make another game, I'm definitely in again. :)

What'd you guys think of the game?

Anything you'd change?

Roles you felt were too powerful?
Roles you felt were too weak?
Roles that weren't included that you think would have been awesome?
Town was a bit too stacked, I think mafia could've possibly used another player... Though the abilities of the mafias were nice. :)

I'd have to go through all abilities again to answer your question properly, but remembering quickly, I thought that Setzer's 7-Flush was waaaaay to complex.

Also, you're a great mod.

By the way, I wanted to laugh when Omni said "ninja'd by edrees" I wanted to post "you have no idea how true that is" of course i wasn't gonna reveal myself right there though ;)
Hahaha. :D

Yea, that was indeed a great one.

Just a random silly fact cause it fits well: I actually was auditioning as Kefka for a FF6 fandub, that line was part of the audition text. I made it until the very last moment, but I got the shaft - the maker even said he was sad there aren't two Kefkas cause I was so spot on as well. In the end, I got Siegfried, the world's greatest swordsman. :D

Idea for the theme of the next game:

SMBros (general)

SMBros 3

FF IV

Chrono Trigger

Super Heroes / Villains

Ronin Warriors

and potentially a small, goofball BBR-themed mafia game in which BBR members are roles you can get.

Either way, the next game is going to be smaller (9-13 depending on the theme). I've got general ideas picked out for each of the ones above, but lemme know what you guys would enjoy if you're interested in playing again.

I'll keep running these as long as people are interested with a bit of a break inbetween each game. People who played previous games without dropping are given precedence.

Wow, was I really that dangerous?

Yeah, I would have done some damage if I were alive. The question is whether or not the rest of the town would listen to me.

I think Chrono Trigger would be freakin awesome. Can you imagine the possibilites of double techs and even triple techs for masonries? That'd be real cool. Imagine if Frog's posting restriction was *ribbit*

Funny story:

My girlfriend happened to make the mistake of saying "wait" and leaving me room to talk, so I simply said this quote.

This has happened three times now. ^_^

<3 Kefka

He's amaaaaaaaazing. I'm tempted to put him in every mafia game I play, hahahahaa

I had a feeling that would happen, so I stated "no obnoxious tunneling of me until I get back!" Ah well.

Again, perils of open-game, didn't realize you had a double-voter.

Also, Bardull and omni, scamp was pretty suspicious of you guys too, not as much as me, but still.

Great metagaming with Scamp'sd kill btw Marc.

I'm for FFIV (my favourite FF, VI just takes place #2) or Chrono Trigger. :)

I love both of these games, real evidence that the SNES was the golden age of JRPGs.

You really should hear my impression of him then. If you want I can see if I can dig up the audition for him, with some luck I still have it saved. :)

Haha.
I'd actually find it really nice because the characters were given such different and interesting powers to differentiate from each other.

One could think of a LOT of roles, and since not only the playable characters were really awesome, there were great side characters too who had very interesting abilities (Schala, Flea, Jonny) and really random ones (such as Masa & Mune, Spekkio or Norstein Bekkler), there's a lot of things this game would offer for single character abilities.

Sorry I played so bad this game, and I didn't wake up until like 4pm today to stop anything going on in that situation.

I was just out of it all around, I was really busy with a lot of things throughout the life of this game.

You would have needed to be really attentive to make a difference. Marc/.joel acted 2 minutes after the Day started, so you HAD to be watching the thread like a hawk and using your power before they did. There was no way of knowing about Marc's ability either, so I'm 95% certain the same outcome would have occured regardless of you being there.

I think the only likely scenario that could have prevented this would have been if I was still alive. I had every intention to use my ability on lylo, and it's possible we would have caught them in the act. But, then again, if I was still alive, they may not have been easily distinguishable scum players, so it's still a coin toss. Hehe.

More about early on, activity throughout the game would've been mad useful.

But if you had voteblocked marc or Joel that would've been mad clutch.

As for mafia kills, to add in what Marc said:
Scamp and Omni, while they did suspect me (and were right about it), adumbrodeus' suspicion of them getting killed because of suspecting me was wrong.
I even named the concern that killing off Scamp after he said he didn't like my posts could be a mistake, one that would come up later when Omni died the same night he said I was play of the day.

Both Scamp and Dastrn were lucky shots, actually. And adumbrodeus never posed any threat to us in our eyes, that's why we left him be and tried to push town to suspect him - he didn't play well and was making giant cases against people who actually were helpful (Omni mainly, but also Hilt to some degree).

The only thing he did right was suspecting laying low on SL and Hilt, and said laying low was exactly the reason why Hilt seemed to be an indie to me. He just didn't feel like he was trying to push for scumhunting, and played incredibly safe, as well as seemed to play very detached from the game.

As said, I was suspecting him and Edrees to most likely be the SK (whom we thought to be a vig until he got flipped indie). It soon became very clear to me, partly because Edrees mentioned the vig quite a lot and seemed to talk far too much about it, and he also was one of the people outside of myself and Omni (who flipped town) to actually suspect Shaya.
On the day when I was getting pressed on by Edrees and adumbro, I said to Marc that it was very likely that I was going to be victim of some night action, if there is someone still around to do so, and that it would be best to send him to do the kill. I guess I was right, haha. :D

It was a lot of close calls during this game, luckily, it worked out, especially us taking the risk at the end was very dangerous.

Also, SL screwing up his posting restriction was stupid, but we still made it, luckily.

tbh i would have gotten it if i was awake, i refresh my subscriptions like every minute lol
But there was no way of knowing that Marc had that ability, so you probably wouldn't have used it right away, is what I mean. There would have been no reason to, I would think.

Also, I think the BBR idea is amazing (credits to whoever thought that one up. ;D) Chrono Trigger/FFIV sound good too.

Would voteblock count if they had already voted?
Nope. Chibo would've had to voteblock either me or Marc BEFORE we posted in the thread. Because we already reached the 3 votes afterwards, and in twilight, no votes or day abilities are counted.

Also, if we do the BBR mafia game, I bet there's Xyro who has to post only in green, and OS who has to post random shit alllll over the place.

I'm probably most interested in seeing what I would be, assuming there's a role made of me tbh.

I've got a ****load of material.

Also, I REALLY wanna run a Bast*** mod game at some point, that'd be awesome.

@adumbrodeus:
I'd say it's unlikely that you are being made a role. Since OS said he'd like to make a smaller game next (9-12, iirc?), there's probably the people who left more of an impression due to their personality or are important to the BBR (HAM, Ankoku, etc.) in there. I'd even suspect that Inui and Xyro, albeit getting the boot, would be added.

I'm pretty upset. The last TWO days broke out before I even got to POST. I was reading everything, and I'd check the thread right away at night, when I woke, and when I got home, and STILL it was ALWAYS NIGHT TIME FOR ME. GGs

My posting restriction made me have to vote for anyone who voted Bardull if I wanted to post. I HEAVILY SUSPECTED .joel, but had absolutely NO CHANCE to kill him when you all voted off Bardull while I was at school (lame). My other suspect was bouncing between Marc and Edress, and I wasn't sure entirely who to trust, or if there were indeed 3 mafia.

This is my second HALF game of mafia, and I've never played a full game. Some years ago, I joined a game, which was amazingly well run, and werewolf themed, but the Game Mod took severely ill and was hospitalized, so we didn't get to finish (he's well now, but we opted not to wait).

I'd still say just from reading/kinda playing this game, I've learned a lot. The biggest thing I learned is that town should use FOS more frequently than pressure voting in mid to late game.

Even only being able to play a limited amount, I enjoyed it, and I would love to play again sometime.

You were just incredibly unlucky to enter the game when it already was almost over. ^^"

If you join up next game when it's in the start phase, I'm sure you'll do a great job. You actually did do well with protecting Chibo and for the short time you were here, you played well.
