Could be a reference to the Jigsaw (no idea how they're called in English) you can get in the first world of Banjo-Tooie: One jigsay piece is guarded by a snake that sleeps but wakes up if you are too fast with approaching. Banjo moves really slowly here, too.

No wonder, I never played tooie. I really love how they built alot upon every aspect of banjo kazooie for tooie. I gotta play it sometime also they call the jigsaws jiggys

They got the released after presentation thing wrong so that's a bit of a knock.

(Also my theory of there being more Dragon Quest heroes was correct, however I thought they'd use most of the heroes to fill out the alt spots like Bowser Jr.)

Well, you're 3/5th of the way there already to that Fighter's Pass. Mach Rider's definitely the long shot, but I'll say I wasn't expecting to ever get Eight, so you're already doing better than most people would have predicted. Crash would be a very solid choice after Banjo Kazooie too.

i would like to jot down dome thoughts, firstly YEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!

firstly i love that they used the best trailer so far for them
when i saw that i was thinking whos arch nemesis is it now?
and i loved that k.rool was hanging out with kongs
then i saw a jiggy and i was like no way
then the whole thing again but with k.rool was funny
then the duck hunt duo reveal was amazing
and there they were!
and i love how happy donkey, diddy and k.rool were
gameplay style looks amazing, stage looks great music sounds awesome, brilliant
and at last "that silhouette didnt look like duck hunt"

instant but so hope we get an amiibo

My only issue is that they weren't saved for the final character. "Banjo and Kazzoie Complete the Puzzle" would've been the perfect way to finish up the roster for this game. I also would've rather had a Diddy Kong racing themed trailer, but that's fine.

Ehh...Are you sure about that? Banjo-Kazooie are owned by Rare, which used to be owned by Nintendo, but now Microsoft owns Rare. But hopefully, like I said before, this builds up Nintendo and Microsoft’s relationship, with them being in Smash, and all.

Legally yes, but from a spirit perspective it's not. They feel so much like Nintendo characters. And now they are back at home. I'm gonna cry

Late posting because I've been busy watching the reveal trailer over and over since it happened. I can't believe they're finally home! I feel so spoiled with this smash. After the roster of smash 4 disappointed me, this one has been the opposite. I got my top 2 base game characters with Ridley and K Rool, and my top 2 DLC characters with Joker and now Banjo-Kazooie. I swear Sakurai is just going down my wish list checking off boxes.

Plus now the "muh relavency" argument is truly dead. It was dead when K Rool got in, but then it was "b-but it's different for third parties and DLC" But Banjo is in with no Threeie, no remake or remaster, and not even Rare Replay on the switch. He got in purely because he belonged there, relevency be damned. Now the door is open for any forgotten character to be brought back. This truly is the ultimate smash bros.
