so how are we feelin about banjo's smash chances now?

I'm 100% sold. Microsoft not showing a new Banjo game during their conference DOES NOT CHANGE ANYTHING. Shinobi has not backpedaled and he knows what he's doing. I still think Sakurai and Doug hinted at Banjo & Kazooie at the end of the 3v3 tournament. This is the best opportunity for the bear and the bird to be revealed.

I agree that the despair and losing all hope is a bit unwarranted.

Tuesday is what matters and even then Banjo & Kazooie could be the 3rd, 4th, or 5th reveal and possibly at a venue/event that is more relevant if they don't get announced Tuesday - or maybe just in a simple direct down the road. You really don't know. Maybe alongside an announcement of the N64 mini, Rare Replay for Switch, or just both original N64 games available to play on Switch.

Even if the bear and bird aren't DLC, there might be a second pass and they certianly would be strongly considered for the next smash title. This isn't the end for them even if it's the end for them in Ultimate.

Have some hope.

I for one will not budge on Banjo and Kazooie beeing 100% in.

I dont think we'll ever get a New Banjo game now, but Banjo being in Smash is the last hope I'll cling onto, that or Banjo Ports to the Switch.

I've seen a sneak peek of Tuesday. They are going to announce an ultra realistic remake of Banjo-Kazooie and Gangster's Paradise is going to be playing throughout the entire reveal.

I just don't get how the pic sent to Sabi, the Verge post and Shinobi post are just thrown to the wayside all because Banjo didn't show up during MS''s E3..

IF there's anything new with Banjo aside from Smash odds are it's on the Switch too and guess what Nintendo is going to announce it... not MS.... this would garner the largest amount of hype...

That being said... no one ever said Banjo was getting a new game.. all the insiders have pointed towards Smash... all the Banjo merch and what not could easily be coinciding with Rare Replay on Switch and Banjo in Smash. After all its MS that says yes to Banjo merch rights and it's not hard for MS to push for Banjo merch to show up around his Smash arrival... to help promote the character.

NONE of the leaks were hinting at new games. They were all about Smash. Shinobi even used the same words that he used to originally leak Ultimate.

I don't get why people are losing hope because nothing was announced at a competitor's event.

For the last time, nothing is set in stone. I haven't heard any recent leaks about Eddy or Steve, so chances are they may not even be in either.



I'm just saying, they were expecting Steve just as much as anybody. I'm not sure if they gave up or not, but you'd think they would have at least commented about the event.

Honestly you’re like the only person I’ve seen lose hope. Try not to rope all of us into this despair pit that you’re in. Games on a Nintendo console? Surprising that they’d be revealed at a presentation for said company, and not one of their competitors. Crazy to imagine.

Yeah, I doubt that anything is gonna convince you otherwise, but that’s not really my problem. If Shinobi, IndieGamerChick, Vergeben, Rand Al Thor, various pieces of merchandise, and whatever else isn’t convincing enough, I don’t know what would be.

I was always figuring that Microsoft would allow Banjo into smash to test demand. Both parties can get some positive PR for bringing back a long and forgotten character. (Now time to introduce you all to the true winner of the smash ballot. Brought to you by our friend Microsoft) And Microsoft can see if its worth making more Banjo games if the smash appearance sells well enough. Its really a win win for both sides.

But really if they saw bringing back Battle Toads of all things was worth it. I don't see what makes Banjo so different.

Insiders are not Gospel though. Obviously from a logical standpoint, it's unlikely that Banjo would not be playable when such a large amount of insiders seem to support/tease/predict the idea..............but there's always a first for everything. and that first is every single insider saying Banjo is playable.............only to turn out it isn't. Doesn't sound realisitc at all, but that's sometimes how life is, it tricks everyone because of how crazy it is.

Then again, this pessimism of mine is actually just fear, but fate can be cruel sometimes. Again, if im wrong and Banjo is Confirmed/Leaked (as in, Shown a Video of Banjo Gameplay to the public kind of leaked) you all here can Tag Me.

All the leaks have been pointing to just Banjo in Smash. That's all I feel is to expect unless proven otherwise.

It's disappointing that Banjo isn't getting new content (what else is new), but I think him being in Smash is good enough compared to not being around at all.

If Erdrick does get revealed on Tuesday and he is a single reveal. This thread is going to take it all out on him like it is Erdrick's fault. Right. If Erdrick gets in, I probably won't be thrilled, since he's not even my most-wanted Dragon Quest character, let alone my most-wanted character period, but... it's not exactly Nintendo's fault what rumors circulate before their presentations.

Smash is still the kingmaker. Banjo being in Smash would be a strong step toward getting the series up and running again. I, too, initially thought it would be weird for them to just put him in Smash with no real games to market around it, but that's honestly not that counter to most of the DLC characters we've seen. That's part of why a lot of people who support Isaac and Geno and such want them so much - Smash energizes old franchises. Gets them moving again like nothing else can.
