The reason people think Bandanna Dee would be generic is likely due to his simple appearance and weapon. People who think that most likely only know him by his recent appearances. You did mention that he is generic in your video, but you did not give a reasonable rebuttal to the counter argument, all you had was a quote saying he is stronger than the other Waddle Dees.

Waddle Dees have used enough weapons over the years to give Bandanna Dee a really unique move set with things like their umbrellas or ability to ride Nruffs. They've even used bombs and dandelion seeds in a few games. If you don't want people to think he is generic, you should give more examples to show the potential he has as a fighter.

Bandana Dee isn't generic because he's a growing staple and from a design perspective, particular character. The other Waddle Dee aren't made in anyway significant except that one Dee from K64... but even he's not given a visual marker, a returning role in a story with dialogue, a role in the very world of Kirby as a spear captain, and growing role in the games themselves as a character to play in multiplayer. He is a specific character. He's not an enemy or part of a group (simply of the same species).

Bandana Dee IS spear captain, works for Dedede, Pal of Kirby, playable in 2 games, has a Bandana Marking him as unique... meaning the same Waddle Dee we keep seeing with a Bandana ACROSS games is the same character. This same character is reoccurring again and again in recent games. This character is a particular member of the cast. From all that we see he's not generic. He's not just an enemy or even just a waddle dee. He is Bandana Waddle Dee who is all these things.

They're the people obsessed with Dark Matter who think every Kirby boss has to be GRIMDARK and a basic eyeball design. Some folks felt that she wasn't eery enough. I think Dark Matter is cool but I would never want boss diversity and design be stunted for the series just because some fans are obsessed with Zero or something. It's how we got lame bosses like Dark Nebula. I happened to LOVE Sectonia cause she gave a different vibe as to what can be considered dangerous and looming. Her flower form against the sky was GORGEOUS and visually iconic and she was just generally an epic fight WITH great theme music. So yeah. I am a supporter.
