Concerning the competition... I realize Isaac is the main character of Golden Sun which I was unable to foster interest in when I tried playing the game. Would he seem similar to characters such as the FE ones? This may not be appealing to Sakurai who didn't want to put Chrom in for that reason. IF that is the case. I don't know. Also GS unlike FE did not make the same sort of comeback as a franchise. Awakening doing so well is why FE in the first place seemed very represented this smash 4.

Dixie Kong I kind of see as a possibility of happening ever since I heard she was considered for Brawl. They could work off the Diddy model as well and DK is lacking in reps. All of this combined, imo, could make her a possible candidate.

Big competition also includes other returning characters like Wolf. There's no denying that at all. Just the fact there's data for past characters like him and others make them an easy and appealing candidate. This is the biggest competition and likely DLC.

Honestly and personally I don't see characters like Banjo-Kazooie, Walugi, Ridley, happening. For issues regarding character ownership I really see that effecting Banjo-Kazooi. I really don't think characters that are already trophies and boss hazards are going to be stripped from the game and made into characters. Might as well put Skull Kid in there too. I also think third party characters have less of a chance since Nintendo's going to want to work with their own characters more and promote their stuff more. Not entirely crossing 3rd parties out as impossible but as likely to have decreased chance and less priority over first/second party.

So I think it's okay to narrow down the competition a little more. I think in this regards BD stacks up better (only because of process of elimination)

Also one neat advantage that BD does kind of have is that he already plays like a smash character thanks to RtDL. From a design aspect I think this makes him appealing to work with.

THERE is a chance but there is good competition in the polls as well. I do hope people continue to vote for BD.

Isaac is essentially what people think Black Mage could work like, in GS you would heavily rely on Psynergy attacks to throw a sword made of energy, make earthquakes, sprout vines and tons of other things

OH okay that's different and more viable. Alright so I'd say he's got a possibility than. Although his franchise isn't quite big as the others. I suppose his abilities could make being a fighter, possible. Also there is the thing where his trophy is straight up gone now unlike Skull Kid and others.

I really hope Isaac gets in, I believe he's behind K.Rool a little in terms of votes. Fun fact about the Isaac thread: No one knows what to do for a good moveset as there's too much too work with

Depends on the moves he gets. Here is what I made up:
Neutral Special-Guard Attack: Waddle Dee jabs the opponent repeatedly and throws many spears. 19%
Custom 1-Fire Guard: Guard attack throws flaming spears 17%
Custom 2-Retaliate: Guard attack is a counter --%
Side Special-Spear Throw: Waddle Dee throws his spear, this can be charged to throw three at once, and throws rapid fire in the air 4%
Custom 1-Spear Launch: Throws the spears faster and farther 2%
Custom 2-Spear Flight: The spears are unaffected by gravity 3%
Up Special-Spear Copter: Waddle Dee spins his spear overhead to fly. This can damage foes 3% per hit
Custom 1-Tornado Copter: Spear Copter cannot be controlled, and goes farther up.
Custom 2-Shockwave Copter: Spear copter now sends shockwaves outward 3% per hit
Down Special-Moon Drop: Waddle Dee spins straight down damaging opponents rapidly on the way down. This launches them far when you hit the ground 1% per hit (Falling) 16% (landing)
Custom 1-Gum Drop: Moon Drop no longer damages rapidly going down. Instead launches enemies far and creates a shockwave when you hit the ground 18%
Custom 2-Freeze Drop: Moon Drop will freeze opponents. 8%

I can't say I'd be excited for Isaac since I didn't care for Goldensun but he is the main character of a distinct Nintendo franchise. So it would overall bother me less than various other characters people are voting for such as yet more Mario characters.

I would totally be bummed of course if he joins and no BD =X but yeah that just cause I want BD so much, lol.

I don't think Waluigi is likely at all.
Besides being hated by core Mario fans, Waluigi hasn't made a major appearance in any major Mario game or even any Wario games (besides one small cameo). He's too unimportant of a character to put in.

Anyway I was just on the Japanese Miiverse Smash Community and in the popular post section all the pictures were of Lucas and/or Mewtwo, besides 1 which had Daisy, and 3 which had Bandana Dee. I don't recall any other characters, so Japan might have our backs in regards to newcomers!

Bandana Dee and the Kirby series are pretty popular in Japan. I'm glad to see their interest in him is still alive and well. :)
However, King K. Rool is still their top choice.

I would love to see Amaterasu be playable to be honest. I am a huge fan of Okami! I think she could be unique by changing her weapons every so often and using her brush powers. I am pretty interested in seeing her fight Link and Shulk.

He wouldn't be too similar to Fire Emblem characters.
I haven't played Golden Sun at all and I dunno too much about it, but I know that Isaac has some magic powers or something that make him do things like shake the ground and such.
However, the thing that hurts him is that he is MIA and the only references to his game are the two music tracks. His fans claim that Dark Dawn's mixed reception hurt him.

A reply to my Bandana Dee promotional video said he would get boring and stale after a while :glare: I have never seen a more stupid reason. I might make a moveset video for him.

I think Waluigi still has a LITTLE possibility, it's pretty small, but I don't think saying that he can't be in just because he is hated is a valid point, remember that people are voting for Daisy who is equally or more hated than Waluigi

People that voted for Bandana Dee here (Smashboards) need to vote for him on the ballot I feel some people are forgetting to do that. Might wanna put that in the O.P. when you get the chance

This. To be honest I don't think Waluigi has any chance ever. LOL sorry to be harsh it's just that when I think of smash I think of the most important and impactful characters from each franchise. Shulk is the main character of his series, Yoshi was important enough because he had his own game, Ganondorf is in there because he is the main villain in Zelda, etc....

What exactly is Waluigi in importance to Mario franchise other than another character option in spin off games? I think people just think his character is goofy and funny. To me it's like when people vote fore Shrek (not as bad cause he's an actual video game character, but funny images of him online has lead to the jokingly want fore him in smash)

I know. It just makes me happy that the possibility is out there. If she does get in, I'll be hoping for Snake and Shadow Moses Island to return more than usual, just to see Snake's reaction to the white wolf beating him up with invisible weapons. Also, since Amaterasu is a god, I wonder how Pit will react to having to fight her. :p

The Palutena Bow and Silver Bow are a Bow and Dual wielded Daggers combo. There is no sword in there. (In fact, I think the Gun Blade is the only "sword" in the Kid Iccarus franchise.) Ganondorf, Mega Man, Zelda, and Greninja don't count because they don't primarily use the swords.

It's really not a fact. You never know. If ****ing Duck Hunt Dog can get in, I'd say Waluigi has a chance.
