It's just a powerful attack. It hits hard so it gets more of a "oooooooo" reaction. And it requires a lot more precision than most things Falcon can do in this game. Falcon doug-hug in this game looks pretty stupid comparatively. That's not to say the hype is warranted though. Falcon stomp into knee will get the same reaction, but it's not so hard to do.

All that being said, Melee's extended application combos are generally way more hype to watch than in 64.

My favorite Falcon combo finisher to date: forward-hitting uair -> forward-hitting u-air -> dair

It sends them at such a low angle if landed correctly. I searched for a long time to see if anyone else has this combo recorded but I have yet to see one. I've only done it on console against DK, Link, and Fox. I suppose if dair couldn't hit you could opt for Falcon kick which looks great too.

Edit: I almost landed it on Pika once but I whiffed the dair... I suppose that if you're positioned correctly you could pivot offstage to extend your dair hitbox

Do we expect a complete list of results at any point? Will Apex ever fill out the brackets and pools to its entirety?

When anyone else visits smashboards on their phone does it automatically open the app store and start downloading games and viruses? I would have thought it was my phone but it only happens on smashboards. Must be some kind of communist propaganda.

can someone explain to me the sb64 rankings on this site cuz i just really dont get it. you are somehow assign a seemingly arbitrary "score" that determines your rank. Isai is ranked 182nd.

this happens on my laptop except it redirects me to random websites. only happens with smashboards

I've seen so many ledge DI tutorials it makes me sick. I just want a clear, simple explanation on how to do it, anyone care to help me out?

Also, how can I practice this DI on bots? Thanks.

Pick link, pick hyrule, roll to any edge or stand by a wall, pull out a bomb, throw the bomb straight down, right when you throw the bomb down move the stick into the wall or edge kind of like a quarter circle, practice until you see results, move to red shells after

If you roll to an edge you only need a single input (one tap) towards the stage to get "ledge DI" (wall bounce)

I feel like new players can trick themselves into thinking getting the wallbounce = super awesome DI when really that only means you got the literally minimal DI

Is this true if you're standing next to a wall? Does that mean, if you're in a situation where you tech roll to an edge, and someone reads it with something like fsmash. it only takes one input to get the rev ledge DI? Or 2?

Do most 64 players use the raphnet adapter when they play? Just curious I want to get into 64 a little to play with my friends and I was thinking about maybe getting one. But they are so dang expensive :-(

I use the mayflash. I think those two are more or less equally popular.

It's not too common but I've heard good things about the raphnet adapters. Here's the link if you want to do any research about the adapter.

Weak bair? What is this? In guessing it refers to different hitboxes with different strengths of the same attack?
With most aerial attacks some aerial attacks, like most nairs and bairs (any aerial that doesn't have a moving hitbox basically), the first frames of it hits harder (more knock back) than if you have it out for a while and then hit someone with it. It also makes a slightly softer noise. Weak aerials can be great for continuing combos.

basically some aerials have a hitbox that becomes weaker the longer it stays out. usually it will be a nair but it can be other aerials too. so once a hitbox stays out for a certain number of frames it starts having less knockback (and less damage? not sure) and is refered to as "weak" . most of the time the sound effect also changes when it becomes weak. so it has more of a POP kind of sound when it makes contact vs a bang type noise for a strong hitbox. a lot of players will purposely use a weak hitbox to continue a combo in situations where a strong hitbox would cause too much knockback

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it's just strong and weak. It doesn't become weaker over time, it's

I could be wrong but this is just a clarification. It doesn't become weaker the longer it stays out, after a certain amount of time it changes from strong to weak. The length of time it stays out as weak does not change the knock back afaik. Only whether or not it is a strong or weak hitbox. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but that's my understanding of it.

I think that's what he meant. Either way yeah it just goes from strong to weak after so many frames.
