Hm that sounds really cool. Dude you're awesome Max :D
Just let me know soon if that's what you guys want and I'll make it happen. I just have to reconfirm that we have enough space and power (since we expect to have like 40 setups there besides you guys), but fingers crossed. I don't think I can get the ARK V smash tournament thread stickied this time though haha.

havent checked this thread in awhile, sucks to see there wont be an official melee event at ARK5. I was really looking forward to that :( I could bring a setup if the idea in the above post goes down.

That tier list seems pretty accurate. Scary how close Luigi and Pikachu are to ganon/samus.

Also, I just finished Madoka. Was pretty good, but I really hate sad stuff. It ended as well as possible within the framework of that show though. That did give me some amount of closure to the overall grim disposition the show embodied.

Also, started Angel Beat. 8 episodes in. TK is cool. Best character is Angel. Seif has pretty decent taste thusfar, maybe I'll get back into anime a little bit...just a little.

Also, I had the weirdest Denny's experience with Seif the other night.

Ya'll know that older guy that waits at Denny's at night? He's really good, almost too good because he's always in your business, but super friendly.

Yeah, he told me that "the world will love me wherever I go" and at the end he hugged me on the way out. Was mega- weird.

Holy balls, Ganon is way down there. Wasn't he above Doc before?

Spoken well, my son.

I can show you the woooooorld~

Actual Zane quote last night:
Why does anime give me such a strong emotional response? There's nothing like it.
My face when:

Also , I think Larry has a crush on Zane. I'm only half joking. All I got was a limpfish handshake.

Also, Tales of Xillia confirmed for US! I am hype!

I actually almost chose to intentionally avoid that statement because I knew the sick pleasure you'd get from it.

...dang it. I really can't fight my inner nerd, no matter how bad I want to lock him up. If only I could somehow be cool and still have a spot in my life for this as well..

Often the anime uses some cheap *** music score with ******** lighting to imbue the emotion they want you to have.

It means so much more to be moved by a book which entirely relies on the story and characters to get you emotionally invested.

Yeah but music is a wonderful thing and shouldn't be discounted so easily. Opera, musical theater, film, animation - all use music as a tool, not a crutch.

I personally also listen to music while reading to enhance the emotional pull. Made The Prince's Tale 5000 times better.
and yoshiman doesn't belong
lol

You act like scoring, cinematography, and scene composition aren't artistic endeavors in their own right and that books aren't capable of taking manipulative cheap shots themselves. Thats stupid. Stop being stupid.

This is overreacting; also deliberately misreading what I said. I simply noted my frustration at many shows, not only anime but also films and American TV, that uses Music as a belligerent hammer to make you feel what they want you to feel. No **** you'll start feeling sad when someone dies if they're playing some tune with whole crap load of minor chords in the background. It's often used to cover poor story telling/character development.

Lead champion designer leaked character 101: http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/attachment.php?attachmentid=480517&d=1341596302

Says she's going to bring something completely unique to the genre. He also worked very intimately on her and thinks she reflects what a good champ should be. VERY EXCITING cuz Jayce is kinda lame.

"Roku, who likes the "chess game" aspects of Orianna is really into Zyra."
man jayve doesn't play like falcon at all this game is dumb lol

I like Angel Beats' ending a lot more than Madoka's. However I do watch anime for the emotion.

I had that Link in my pool at Apex. Would have been an interesting set.

Madoka's ending was a bittersweet aftermath of a painful journey. It was the most positive outcome possible within a rigged system.

Angel Beats ending was the bittersweet parting after the joy of companionship. Your loved ones may be moving on to better things, but at the end of the day you're still losing your friends.

Maybe so. I have always hated that about anime. It's just a show and I know it, but I have very strong post-anime syndrome. That is to say the amplification of the desired emotion the anime tried to elicit after it's over. It's happened before.

What are we watching next?

Probably Ouran, since you want a comedy. Have you see Full Metal Panic! Fumuffo? If not, then Ouran is locked in.
It's not that I want a comedy, it's that I don't know if my heart can take another sad anime after Madoka and Angel Beats all in the span of 3 days.

I've seen Fumoffo yes, and it was funny. Full Metal Panic in general was a really solid show.

*edit

Arby/VTS - Wanna smash tonight? I'd like to play a little with a serious competitor. Chams just can't keep up like he used to ;)

Actually, scratch that. We're gonna knock out a movie or two before we bust out Ouran. I'm thinkin the two Mamoru Hosada films: The Girl Who Lept Through Time and Summer Wars.
