Well im sure on the surface this just looks like im angry about placing low and not doing so well in the tourney, but thats not really what its about. Sure I know I should of done better and just made a few dumb mistakes ie. changing characters when I won with them for w/e reason I thought that was a good idea. But I just want people to know how I feel about this situation.

Anyways, i'm done talking about this as its all water under the bridge and doesn't matter what I say now.

As far as being a panelist, I would love to be and would try to best represent the Tucson area and make all decisions as far as possible.

The only time the bracket was changed from what i witnessed was when morty and sao didnt want to play each other. I mean if we wanted to change the bracket i would not of played brandon my roomate/teammate in the 4th round..... as far as anyhting else getting changed. Ask the people who were touching the bracket. Only thing that was changed as far as i was aware of is the very starting bracket which put alot of friends against each other ( which included ka vs. Demised, Taj vs. Brandon, I have a copy of the bracket if anyone wants it. I just dont want to get pulled into this drama when i did not change anything.

Nobody has said i did yet, but im just guessing someone will

Also!!!! Counter pick stages are up for the big tourney and also bawls agreed to sponsor woot!!!!

if you look at the top5 from that tournament. we got 2 members from tcb 2 from azc and dgity. so people can drop that whole "the top 5 placers were all friends/from the same crew". as far as the brackets went, initially, there were some pretty ****ty match ups, ka vs tim, sao vs morty then the losers of those 2 would've ended up playing each other, light and goop in the same brackets, tucson kids together. yamer did the same thing goop did at his tournament, tried to make sure friends did not play each other right off the bat, but thats just my opinion. and sao/morty, i want a ****ing bagel at 12step :D

but hey, we all had our fun at the tournament, and there will be more to come after 12step.

cinnamon sugar btw sao.

This is why you seed by location.

Also this is why I hate power rankings. Period.

I also recommend anyone that plans to hold a tourney please go read the sticky by Dan. Its something every tourney host should read.

Ka: That's what SHE said! :p

Trent: I appreciate the endorsement. I hope everyone finds it an interesting read.

Everyone else: See you at Az One Two!

Oh you'll get your bagel Peter... You'll get your bagel...

Btw, funny thing about that is I had never had a cinnamon sugar bagel before but it was so amazing that the next morning I went out and got a cinnamon sugar bagel for breakfast. Very good stuff, thanks for that Peter.

Anyway, I had fun at the tourney; Drama isn't too bad I guess, I don't think it was manipulated really in favor of anyone rather that for future reference it probably just shouldn't be touched. For the most part I think I agree with Alt F4 and Goop, as far as when the initial seedings are done the rest shouldn't be touched from there on. However i'm not complaining, so don't get the wrong impression.

Also one thing to note with coreygames Italy example. When tcb went to the UCLA tourney in Cali, they did separate the seeds based on region to some extent so that the AZ players would not have to face eachother right off the bat, I believe he also did the same for nor-cal players.

To Jet4: I don't think it did or will. Personally I think if they did do power rankings for Doubles it should be a team power ranking because i've tried to think of a couple various ways where single entry players on teams could gain points towards the power ranking but realistically I would have to imagine it is too complex to gather such specific data. But then again i'm not speaking for anyone, I just can't imagine that doubles ranking will influence this.

One interesting thing would be in addition to single player power rankings is to have a team power rankings tied to a team name as well as a crew power ranking.

A crew power ranking would be kinda dumb since there's only like four, and it's not hard to determine who are the better crews.

And um, I think a teams power ranking would still be individual people based on how well they do on teams. Pretty much, it would be dumb and pointless. You can't really DETERMINE who is a better teammate by looking at results, but it would be kinda dumb to rank two people equally if one person like, carries the whole team. And people can team with different people, so one person can be on the same ranking more than once.

Bringing this back on track to the subject of the thread, the power rankings, I think that we should decide who should be the panelists.

I gave my opinion, I think it would be valuable for everyone to voice theirs as well. Maybe do a similar format as I did for suggesting people. Just post who you think should be panelists and how many we should have. I think that is the most democratic way to decide this. We could just pick out who people seem to pick as the consensus. It may get a bit hectic but I think we are all reasonable enough to decide this in a civil format.

Also once we get the panelists together we will use them to pick the power ranked players using a point system such as the one used in the past where each panelist assigns a point value to 15 players.

The list on the front page shouldn't be looked at as the consensus of the panel or anyone on it at this point yet. However I think that it is a valuable tool that can be used in the selection of players who the panel will soon rank.

I personally am also in favor of your proposed list Goop

1. Goop: You seem like a very level headed guy and very involved in the community. Already previously a panelist and you seem to be very strict about making everything fair with a democratic voting system.

2. Max Power: great guy also very involved in the community. Also seems very strict about being fair and does not allow his opinions to be swayed by others. Is currently a panelist, and I think is a ****ed good one.

3. Ka: What can I say he's my crew leader. Great guy and we've talked a bit about this in private already. I know if he were a panelist the most important thing to him would be to make sure everything is fair. I'm not favoring him because of the fact that I know and like the guy, just that based off of what I do know I think he would definitely be a great pick.

4. Yamer: Simply because I believe he will throw some difference of opinion around and diversification. As far as I know I trust the fact that he will be fair but is also very active in expressing the way things should be according to him. Currently a panelist and I think very actively does a good job.

5. 2D: I'm starting to see you at more and more tournaments and you seem like a really awesome guy. After reading some of your posts it seems obvious to me that you are very intent towards remaining competitive within the brawl community. Don't know what it is about you but I trust you would do the right thing and I think would be a great potential panelist.

6. Gamer Guitarist: Honestly I don't know much about you aside from posts i've seen here, however if Goop would nominate you i'm in favor of it. Most of what i've seen from your posts suggest to me that you are a very level-headed guy.

Do I get any credit for nearly beating KA? (no offense to him if he ever could from that statement)

AzOneTwo will influence the rankings heavily. After that I'm going to make a sticky with the rankings for all the Southwest. Also BC's too. Cool stuff to come.

Sort of. What I'm going to do is make a Southwest region power rankings list. It will have the rankings for each state in there.

If I stickied Az's power rankings, I'd have to for each region and suddenly we'll have 10 stickied power rankings.

I'll get to work on said thread right now...

We need to make this thread more democratic. Equal representation from each region is a good idea, and it might not be so bad if you consulted with your panelists before changing the rankings.

Please fix these facts.

Goat: I'm currently 14th in state. I haven't even broken top ten.

Yeah I got an AIM from Mario0275 and he told me to tell you to put him on the power rankings for Texas. I promised him I would. Do what you want with that info XD

LOL i tore up ALL OF CO I GUESS I SHOULD BE RANKED FIRST IN THAT STATE

LAWL
You never played me, and Tim ended up placing much higher than j00. D: D: D:

Also, it was your match vs Tim in pools that left me wondering wtf was going on with the rules. One second it was "All matches in pools are random", the next, "You can counter-pick", the next was all but, "It's my tournament, and **** anyone who questions me".

Not hatin', just kinda confused as to why you and a few others treated your patrons like garbage.

Anyway, if u is gewd, come to Colorado for some easy moneh. August 9th, be thar, sonnnn.

FAKE EDIT: Really, I think a lot of why you were the way you were was the stress of running the tournament. You're pretty chill online, but were kinda... not, for the tournament.

REAL EDIT: Rankings are going to cause a lot of unnecessary drama. I think it's better to hold off until after the first tier list is announced.

You can't host your tournament and eat it too.

(****, that made no sense at all. Chuckle at your joke and hope that everyone follows suit)
