Avery doesn't have a pen!s.

Also, Mike and the rest of you panelists:

Perhaps we could start thinking about a system that we could use to more accurately rank our people. Any ideas? It's kinda late right now, but I'll research some stuff in the near future. Preferably we do this in a manner different than what we had before. Just a thought.

Keep track of everyone's tournament placements vs their attempts in a tournament. The person with the highest percent is the top. Every year, we reset everyone's stats.

I do, however, like the panelist thing that is already in motion, but think that we need to address that we need a experienced group of people that can choose who is actually the best in AZ. They need to be competent, non-biased, and from different parts of the state. These people should frequently go to tournaments, if just to watch and stay on top of placements.

yeah, everyone in our crew should be ranked. the only one on there is 2D, and i'd say the 4 of us all go pretty even with eachother so we're all deserving.

(Team 09K consists of 2D, Jetfour, Valor, and me being the newest addition)

To be honest it is pretty impossible to rank you guys right now with no big tournies going on and I don't think that any of the panelists have really played with you.

Well according to the Arizona Thread, Taj doesn't even play Brawl and is more concerned about WoW. I think its pretty silly to have someone on the panelist who doesn't even play Brawl, I don't care how good he was in melee, this is brawl, you need ACTIVE PLAYERS on the panelist. Please...

i may agree with azenith depending on the true activity of tony in brawl. if he really is more into WoW, we may need to consider another panelist. As it is, phoenix has a few, maybe tucson can have another. i think 2D wanted to be one but i dunno if he still does. i'm in his crew and we all play together a lot so he certainly has experience playing with alot of our tucson players including me, azenith, nicknyte, PXG, jetfour, valor, and Jy a little bit.

Yeah I wouldnt mind being a panelist, I mean, i'll be here during the summer, I dont have any melee experience so I cant be that biased, and next year, I'll probably hold monthly/bi monthly tourney's at my house since I wont be in a dorm.

So, vote for me!

We're working on it! You dont just pick up any random people and call yourself a crew!

Isn't that the formal name for a "Gang" now? Hand some colored shirts out, give yourself a name, then shoot people. Presto, you have a gang. Same thing but with playing video games instead of shooting. Hell, there could be shooting too.

I agree, 2D for panelist. He has zero knowledge of melee so he's fresh on the smash scene. He's a solid player and he knows who's who in tucson. I think he'd be a good judge of talent

from what I can tell, basically averaging the 2 placings from goops to this one. With some minor tweaks here and there.

Dude yamer and guys. Take me off the list please. I don't like being on these ranking lists. I have a personal disagreement with the entire idea of them and would just rather not be a part of it. No offense to anyone. thanks.

So I mentioned it already in the AZ thread, but after AZOne2 we should have enough info to finish this list.

The next challenge to finishing this list will be picking people to be panelists. I say we go for 6 people as the panelists. 2 from each big smash region: West Valley, East Valley and Southern AZ.

This is entirely just my opinion, but here are the people I think should be panelists and a brief reason why:

West Valley:

KA - He is clearly active in the community and is in my opinion the leader of the TCB. He is pretty knowledgeable about the game and is very competitive at it. He has shown to be a good critical thinker and very level headed with many of his past posts on the board and would be a great panelist.

G-MO - Though he doesn't like Brawl as much as Melee he is still good at the game and has been fairly active. He is also in my opinion the leader of the STB and through Oscar and him have been the steadiest and most regular venue for smash in AZ. I think he is also very level headed and would not be opinionated towards anyone.

East Valley:

Yamer - Since it was his idea in the first place to do this ranking I guess I have to include him, just kidding. He has affiliations with most of the East Valley and is highly active. He seems to have good knowledge and knows lots of players, which is highly helpful.

Goop - I don't want to seem like I am being a blatant self promoted but I have been one of two hubs for smash in AZ for nearly 2 years now, the other being STB. I have thrown many tournaments in the past and have gotten the chance to see lots of players. I am still learning a lot about the game but I play on being as competitive in Brawl as I was in Melee.

Southern AZ:

GamerGuitarist - He has in the past been a tournament organizer and has pretty good affiliations with lots of Tucson people. He appears to be pretty knowledgeable about the game and would give the Phoenix people insight into the skill levels of Tucson.

2D - He has come to two of the big Phoenix tourneys, mine and recently Yamer’s, and so is very active. He appears to know a good deal of Tucson people and would probably be good for scouting talent down there.

I agree there, Manny. But we must also devise a system of ranking people. From one tourney to the next it seems that people jumped up and down the list pretty drastically. Some people on that list moved down, even though they are better than some of the people that jumped up. Perhaps fixing this might be a good idea. But perhaps when AZOTS is finished we can discuss the tourneys that have happened and take those into consideration when picking a list.
