Waluigi: Before anyone starts whining, wait. Waluigi is a popular character (Like it or not) and he could also take moves from the popular Mario Party, Kart, and Sports series.

Metroid Characters
Samus/ZS Samus: (Confirmed)
Dark Samus: More clones you ask? No way Hose, If you think DS would have a cloned moveset, you need to play MP2 some more. Using all of the powers from the many battles you have with her, she could be unique if done right.
Gorea: The answer to the "Which MPH hunter?" problem. Gorea has all of the powers of the other hunters, making it fair to every one who wanted one specific hunter. That, and his speed, (Yes, he is fast, he can outrun Samus.) would be a welcomed addition to the roster.
Ridley: See McFox's explanation in his thread.

EarthBound Characters
Ness: One of the Original 12.
Jeff: Ness's best friend, and the next EB char to get in.

King Dedede: As Kirby's main villain, he would be a unique character, using a mallet.

Zelda/Sheik: A given
Ganondorf / Ganon: Link fought these guys for a long time, as his main villain, Ganondorf should stay, and get his pig form as a transformation.
Skull Kid: A character many have requested, and which I think is a good idea.

Fire Emblem Characters
Marth: As the first FE character, he should return.
Roy: After his appearance in Melee, many people came to enjoy him as a playable character.
Hector: A unique FE character, since there are not axe fighters in Melee.

Custom Robo Characters
Ray 01: A used to be Japan-only character, after Custom Robo was released in America, it was a hit, and the could also use him to advertise for Custom Robo DS
Rahu: As Ray 01's nemesis, I don't see why not to include him.

Random Other Characters
Ice Climbers: Another fun character, and the only dual one.
Stafy: A Japan-only character, but as we saw after Melee came out with Marth and Roy as playables, the fire emblem series was released in America afterwards, so the same could be done for Stafy.
Mr. G&W: As the first real Nintendo character, he should keep his place on the roster.
R.O.B. (NES Robot): A historical character that Nintendo hasn't forgotten about (Mario Kart DS) and being a robot, a moveset could easily be made.
Pit (Confirmed)
Mach Rider: Another historical character, and from a hard game, he should be included.

3rd Party Characters
Snake (Confirmed)
Sonic: The most requested character for SSBB.
Geno: See what McFox has in his thread.
Godzilla: His games have almost all been on Nintendo consoles, and he has an exclusive game coming out for the Wii.

Yep, MP himself. I had the thought that he could have a transformation with DS, making her infinitely more unique. I know it won't happen but, hey, a guy can dream.

Geist/John Raimi

I think Geist could have one of the most unique movesets in the game. With taking owver people and other ghostly moves, he could be one of the more creative characters.

Koopa Troopa

For all you koopa haters out there saying: OH NOES WAYXESZ! HE IZ A GENRIC ENIMY FrOMZ MARIOZ! So is Toad, Blaziken, Munchlax, and all pokemon (with a few exceptions). Plus there's the fact that ther is one specific one that has reappeared in next to all of Mario's spin-off titles, like Mario Kart.

Mallow

Over Geno? Hell no. Over other stupid characters from Mario RPG like Boshi? Hell yes.

Sora

The keyblader from KH. *listens to everyone saying NO MOREZ SWOORDZ PLAYZ* Wait. We've had swords but not giant Keys, everyones seems to foreget that what Sora has isn't a blade, it's key people!

Gamera

Would I include him over Godzilla? NO! Over other characters like Blaziken and Munchlax? HELL YES. Imagine being able to do the two most wanted fights in the world, Godzilla vs. Gamera and Mario vs. Sonic in the same game! And for those who say. HE NEEDZEZ A GAMESZES on NINTENDOES.

Geist/John Raimi

I think Geist could have one of the most unique movesets in the game. With taking owver people and other ghostly moves, he could be one of the more creative characters.

Actually, Raimi isn't too far out there. Nintendo owns all rights over the character, he isn't just some random 3rd party company making a game for th Gamecube and having Nintendo produce it. It was produced by Hideki Konno too

No, not the gigantic one. The original from Metroid NES. People seem to have forgotten that Kraid was once as small as Samus, and not morbidly huge and fat.

Wart

Yes, the only character to be the final boss in a Mario game other than Bowser. They might have a hard time thinking of a moveset, but i'm sure someone can think of something.

Rayman

The first choice for a Ubisoft character, IMO, Rayman should get in

Well, if a Ubisoft character got in, it would be Rayman, but I'm sure that Fisher would be second choice.

U-Mos

One of my personal choices. I think that U-Mos could have a moveset based around the Light, Anhihilator, and Dark beams, since the Luminoth created them.

Master Cheif

Before anyone starts screaming, read at the top. CHARACTERS THAT I KNOW WON'T GET IN BUT WANT ANYWAYS. And the reason I want him is so that we can also have the Samus vs. Master Cheif battle everyone seems to want along with Mario vs. Sonic.

Jet Jaguar

The randomest pick here, I simply want him because he is my second favorite Godzilla monster.

Scooby-Doo

No moves you say? Scooby could have moves revolving around Scooby-Doo : Night of 100 Frights.

B-Helmet Charge: Hold B and release when wanted to send Scooby flying forward with a helmet on his head.

Up-B-Spring Boots: Springs pop out of Scooby's shoes and launch him upwards.

OR

Up-B-Snack throw: Scooby throws a Scooby snack upwards (Similar to Yoshi's.) With this idea Scooby would have one of the best double jumps out there, just like Yoshi.

Forward-B-Spring Launch: Springs pop out of Scooby's shoes and launch him forward. Also usable for recovery.

Down-B-SCOOBY-DOOBY-DOO!: Scooby does his signature bark, which if used right is extremely close to a homerun bat. (Jiggly Down-B clone.)

Garfield

Now for Garfield I can't think of any moves, but some one probably could, and if they went for popularity, Garfield would be one of the better choices.

So in my list, I've dropped Sheik, Roy, Young Link, Dr. Mario, Pichu, and Mr. Game & Watch - all who are arguably the most likely characters to be dropped with G&W still having a chance of getting in.

I chose the third party characters I did simply because they make the most sense. Pac Man has appeared in a Nintendo only franchise before (arcade version of Mario Kart) and Nintendo-Namco have a close relationship as does Nintendo-Sega and Nintendo-Campcom. They seem fairly obvious that Sonic, Pac Man and Megaman will make it in.

Also I would not be surprised if some of my picks were replaced with say: Isaac (Golden Sun), Balloon Fighter, Little Mac, or Mach Rider - it all depends on the series' that Sakurai wants to represent in the game.
