It's hard for me to keep my interest up in this game since we haven't seen any new footage or even given a solid release date. I guess I'm just tired of waiting for Nintendo and their snail like approach.

It's a step up from the previous Dojo since we're not getting spoiled, but I still think having daily updates is a mistake. Just make a new Developer Direct once a month with all the reveals in it, would make much more sense.

Also yes, they need to show new footage. It's simply ridiculous that apart that first trailer, we got like 20 seconds of video after it. It's becoming annoying.

I figured there would be quite a wait for the game, so no it isn't lowering my interest. Would be nice if we could get some more newcomer reveals though, or if they announce another veteran next, atleast make it Zelda/Sheik.

Well, personally, I'm not losing interest at all! But I do agree that we could definitely use more information, videos, etc. I'll admit that they're not doing the best job at keeping us hyped up, but regardless, I'm still excited~

I find this wait harder since Mega Man is in it and I've wanted him for years.
I find it harder to wait on things we don't know than things which are confirmed.
Mega Man is in it, so what's the hurry of knowing stuff? If they'd reveal, I don't know, Shulk tomorrow, I would be fine basically for the rest of the wait.

Brawl's waiting time was straight up psychological violence towards the fans.

This. It was six months until the first veteran and new stages after the initial trailer, twelve until daily updates, fourteen until the second veteran, and a whopping seventeen until the first newcomer after the initial trailer and let's not forget the two delays that happened a month and a half before the games were supposed to release.

Yeah if you think the wait for these games are bad. Brawl's was worse. Especially for us Europeans....:urg:

And don't get me started on Level-5's games... x_x

Hmm oddly enough it's not tormenting or even losing interest as such as I have enough other things going on that I'm not clamering for it like I did during Brawls development cycle. Probably just a sign of me starting to get older or just that I simply don't get upset about these kind of things much anymore. Either or.

I'm kind of like "if it comes out and I get it then great" but if I don't get it right out the bat or even after 6-10 months, I won't be upset.

I am personally fond of not getting information. It's like I am a child again when you didn't know of the internet so when you got a game, you really did not know much about it.

Losing interest fast and have been for awhile. XD

I wish it was like Brawl's Dojo where it just revealed everything so I could actually tell if there was anything in the game I cared about or not. ¦D

Toad's deconfirmation made me lose most of my interest in SSB4... now I'm just waiting for any news on new newcomers (if there are any) to make me excited for SSB4 again.

I just want the fool thing to come out already so we can get the hype moving. The arteries are clogged and the heart attack's a'comin.

Not at all. Updates come daily with enough ambiguity to speculate and veteran updates come monthly. Of course, more info and newcomers would be awesome but I'm ok with this speed. Considering the first Dojo remained unchanged for an entire year before Sakurai started to update, we are pretty lucky. Plus, this game will be out in or less than a year. My hype can last that long.

I'm not losing interest. I'm just happy enough right now where I don't have to wait for 2 years to see screenshots of Luigi. (I knew he would be in Brawl, but I wanted to see him in action! Not seeing him was torture for me!)

I'm pretty much happy with anything that is getting confirmed. Characters, stages, items, Assist Trophies, Pokemon… I like just seeing that alone. However, I want to see the more obvious veterans get confirmed already, I would love to see another newcomer, I want to see what modes there are in this game, and I would love to see a new trailer. I actually miss the old DOJO!! because the daily updates got me hyped every single day until release. It's hard to keep my hype on-going every single day when you have pointless screenshots for the Pic of the Day with no explanation (like Marth and Luigi's nose in one pic).

I'm still hyped, but I wasn't as hyped as I was with Brawl.

It's hard to be hype about a game you only know like 15% of.

Which I think they're doing on purpose. I loved Brawl but I will admit that the game was grossly overhyped. It was a great game but the way Nintendo promoted it made it seem like not only was it going to be the last Smash Bros ever but probably the greatest Nintendo game ever made. The promotion for this game is like warm cup of tea while the promotion for Brawl was like buckets of boiling hot coffee being repeatedly dumped on you.

idk. i feel like we got a LOT of footage when it was announced. The games release is still up in the air, as i usually expect nothing of the game to be shown until a release date is announced.

I'm perfectly content with what we have, but it would be nice to see some gameplay, and more info such as Megaman's final smash.

I'm all aboard the hype train. This game has a French Bulldog assist trophy.

I repeat. A French F***ing Bulldog.

I sort of empathize with this. The only revealed additions that I really care about are Villager and the Mario Galaxy stage. Without any newcomer reveals in six months and a collection of stages from games I don't like (Find Mii, Wii Fit) and/or haven't played (Pyrosphere, Windy Hill, the majority of them), not much of anything has piqued my interest so far in these daily updates. I'm fine with this, since Sakurai never intended for these pics to be major hype-inducers, but it's perfectly fair to feel the way we do as a result. It doesn't help that I don't expect my favorite characters will become playable and expect my favorite veterans to get cut.

Brawl was overhyped, yes, but really, a game on this scale should be hyped. The game should be marketed as a masterpiece. That's just good business, and it illustrates the developer's success at keeping our interest. But I digress. I don't really care or not if the pre-release information is delivered like Brawl's or not. My loss of interest is primarily due to my own faults in not being a fan of the majority of the reveals, though would it be so hard for Sakurai to just reveal Yoshi already? I mean, come on now.

I've been putting most of my enthusiasm into Project M for the time being.

I'm sorta losing hype, but the pic of the days are getting more interesting so I'm regaining some.

I'd really like to see more footage of the game though, even if it's just Wii Fit Trainer tearing Fox a new one.

I'm not losing too much interest. Kind of hoping we see a new character soon. It seems like it's been forever since the last one was announced.

I think SSB4 will eventually be hyped more but I think Nintendo's taking it slow because Brawl was hyped full blast right from the get-go, which caused a lot of disappointment and complaining when it actually came out because people's expectations had become laughably unrealistic. I can't decide if Brawl or Twilight Princess was hyped more but I feel both got a ton of backlash (most of it simply being good, old fashioned butthurt) that they really didn't deserve.

Yeah, we should all just whine about it.

It's certainly nothing compared to Brawl's hype train, which is probably for the better once the game is out, but as it stands right now the game doesn't have much hype surrounding it, the main cause being the lack of any newcomers for half a year. Hopefully things kick off once 2014 begins.

I personally just need to know whether Ridley is in or not, then I can step back and wait until the game is out. That guy is the only reason I follow this game religiously, and also the only reason I followed Brawl religiously after Dedede's announcement. Otherwise veterans are the only things I care much about, and that just requires me to check the site once per month.

For me, it's all about time-span. My point being, that if we don't know how long until the game comes out, we have no real building of anticipation. If they came out on Monday and said that Dec 1, 2014 was the release date, hype would instantly begin to build, because now we have something to cap off all of that steam. The problem with this is that Nintendo (and Sakurai especially) have a habbit of delaying games. Once a delay happens, the hype turns into... something different. Almost an angst against the game/creator (maybe someone more literate can describe this feeling better than I.) Mark my words, when a final release date is announced and kept, we won't have to worry about losing hype any longer. That's just what the smash community does.

Yes; fortunately, I did not lose interest in the community. The members of this website are keeping me around despite my disdain for irrelevant news. It is actually funny, every December update gave us something new to discuss; however, no one really wants to discuss. The methodology Sakurai has selected to "hype" up the game is quite counter-intuitive. I am sure I will regain some enthusiasm after we get a decent character reveal. The last one was Toon Link (which made me happy as I was one of the only people to proclaim that his return was imminent).

Reveal an interesting character like Falcon or Yoshi and I am good. Reveal a newcomer and I am hyped.
