I'm just your problem~
[22:36] <SilverBlaze> and the weird thing you do with the SideB when you go straight up
[22:36] <SilverBlaze> I've never seen anything like that before
[22:36] <Umby> Btw
[22:36] <Umby> when you saw that once
[22:36] <Umby> Did it clang with your glide attack?
[22:36] <Umby> On Delfino.
[22:36] <SilverBlaze> I think so
[22:36] <Umby> If so, then holy ****.

I think VSDJ clanged with MK's glide attack. Discuss.

wouldn't that be because the first few frames of the SD has crazy priority? And that priority can be used when it jumps?

Can you say anti-air attacK? Time to test it...

it's the same freakin move.

jump while charging = vertical spindash jump (regardless of sideb/downb)

jump while rolling = normal spindash jump (regardless of sideb/downb)

both of them have the same exact properties, except jumping from a charge has well... no initial momentum.

MK's glide attack is really reminiscent of Zelda's Din's Fire, since it looks like (at least, for Sonic) any aerial attackbox will clang with it, and any 'renewing' or multiple hit attack will outprioritize it.

Tenki also reminds me, if someone goes out and tests this, try and see if a regular SDJ clangs as well. That might make it easier to perform when being intercepted at an angle. That's all assuming I saw what I saw.

Hop of Side B = no hurtbox frames. (a few frames, not the whole hop)
It's all hitbox though. It should go through pretty much anything.
But that's an interesting find anyways.

It's possible to use the side-b to counter just about anything, but the timing is so strict that it's largely impractical.

well in the avent that you do it too early, u stilla void the glide attack anyway... but i prefer Fsmash for a glide attack counter... because it can kill too.

meh?

If I try to Fsmash, the MK usually whacks me in the eyes with glide attack `.`;

timing son. That is honestly like the number 2 way i kill mk's... number 1 being ceiling kills.

Fsmash definately has more range and priority than mk's glide attack. just sit and wind up ur fist while he is coming at you, and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM . lol

its great. and i love it.

I think the MK can come in vertically right above you and get you out of Fsmash's range `.`;

well ur fighting some leet **** mk's. u tilt ur fsmash upward right?

if he is high enuff to avoid an up tilted fsmash then wouldnt a charged dsmash put sonics hurt box too low, and swing back for a punsh?

either way.. u could always do something else too... jump back, ASC, bair, plenty of ways to punsih it.

edit, u could even doa grounded spin dash and jump under him.. it would probly hit him to fast for him to react anyway.

did you guys notices that when u VSDJ, it usually slings u backwards at the start of it. Basicly all im saying is that if you press B< and move in this >>>>>> direction. you wil get a better movment out of it. you will go further than if you just pressed >B and VSDJ'd >>>> that way.

(i havent tested this at all with down-B it probobly works differently.

It doesn't work on Lucario's Dair :\
I'll try out Peach's in a bit, because that's another problematic move.
^^ And yeah. It's useful when fighting smaller characters and using Spindash. Normally, the hop would go over like a crouching squirtle or something, but do it on the edge facing away from it, and you slide a bit off the edge then the hops kinda replaced by you sliding back up and travelling across the ground minus the hop. So it's basically turning the Spindash into a Spincharge.

Grounded Mach Tornado has crappy priority and over half of Sonic's moves can either clang-cancel or outprioritize it.

I'd be surprised if you could beat a rising tornado with it. The only things I know of that can beat that are well-placed aerials (specifically, D-air), and falling springs.

haha I was thinking of that U-tilt thing `.`; It's so underused.

I noticed that too, though not against Peach's D-air, but Lucario's.

But that's only at an angle right? I'm fairly sure Sonic's noggin is very vulnerable to attack while he's u-tilting.

yeah, I had walked backwards a bit. I think we traded hits, but it's still a noticeable difference.

It's still a pretty good followup to an early dash attack.

I still hate u-tilt with a passion. I wish it had like... 2x as much damage and 3x as much knockback. Then it would be MARGINALLY useful as opposed to a complete joke.

Damage? It does 14%. Double that and you're talking Snake like ***********.
I'd say give it a little more range both horizontally and vertically, then it'd be more useful.
I don't use it myself really, SH Uair works better for me.
