If a god would send an angel to save a dying girl from pneumonia, why hasn't he done that to the other millions of innocent children that've died from illness?

God isn't perfect if you believe this story. It's a contradiction of Christianity.
Thats like asking why he didn't send some major uber freak accident to help the Jews during the Siege of Jerusalem, why he didn't help the Crusaders take over the holy land, and let 6 million Jews fall under the no mercy policy of Hitler.

Too be honest i think this is just another Miracle lesson. This kids birthday is around Christmas or so the Mom says, and she was just hoping that the girl would live to see her 15th birthday. Well looks like she got her wish and she's happy with it. All i think is that this is a simple lesson and so they can count their blessings. God or what the writers claim is that he won't intervene with human affairs. He doesn't want Humanity depending on him always. If we always had to depend on him we wouldn't have these advances in technology, medicine and science.

Too be honest this is slowly turning into a religion thread and this is probably my last statement Concerning religion.

This "angel" most likely acted on its own and did what it did with out the consent of God.

Guys, I didn't INTEND for this thread to become a bloodbath between those who think that the idea of the "supernatural" is fallacy and those who believe it WAS the work of supernatural beings.
I merely wanted to share the news with you, and we can all be happy that the girl is alright.

I believe it. Hopefully it was a good angel.
As opposed to the evil angels that suck the blood of the living. Good thing something stopped it in time or that poor girl would have died sooner!

As an atheist in an area that is almost 100% christian, seeing posts thanking god/angels for things makes me a little angry. Now, I hate that of me. I really do. I always, always try and accept people for who they are.But I don't have the gall to post about it, disproving people who are just happy a good thing happened. Realize this, they aren't asking for debate in their beliefs, they are giving thanks for what they believe in. Don't "disprove" anyone in this thread, let it die or be thankful for luck/angels/science. It is one thing not believe in god, but taking the debate to where it doesn't belong is rather.. pointless and rude.

Woo, a girl didn't die, lets argue!
It's the fact that the NEWS is declaring this as something special and unique and giving praise to the wrong source: god. If anything, her own immune system fought it so give HER praise, or give the doctors praise, but to say "god did it; it's an angel," pisses people off.

Well it shouldn't! That's what is wrong with today's society, if something good happens, anyone has the right to think what they want of HOW it was accomplished. If some believe it was purely natural, AWESOME. If some believe it was the work of the supernatural, AWESOME. If someone believes that tiny Captain Falcon microorganisms knee'd the pneumonia cells in the face to cure this poor girl, AWESOME.

I see where you are coming from... I have hated the news for a long time, and I think they have a certain pressure to "go god" because that is what their audience is...

Yea, I do understand how that would piss people off.

Honestly, if the parents and daughter want to thank God for the occurence then let them. If the doctors are happy and everybody is chill then what gives an audience that isn't even directly involved with them the right to judge? Nothing.

None of you have any right to be angry in place of someone else. These people are happy so you should all be happy as well instead of snickering at the fact that they believe it was something you don't believe in. The whole point is missed that the girl survived and that's really what matters.

I read this wondering how the thread could degrade into arguing so fast, but then I realized this was the Pool Room
