I have a new Amiibo Cup ruleset made for Season 9. It's unsure of when a date will be determined to do Season 9 though. Sonic, Mega Man, and Ike haven't come in yet. They'll be coming in about 2 weeks. The Amiibo Cup may become a 2-3 day event due to the large collection.

Tiebreaks with 3 or more figures get determined by the EvenHubs Tier List. If EventHubs is down, then we go to the latest list out of Japan.

Where I sit now, I have no chance to get the on the 20th because of school. I want to know if I have another shot at getting him. The others I listed above, I'm tired of looking on eBay and other sites to get them around retailer price. If there is any other site that I can get those Amiibos for around retailer price, I would really appreciate it.

I bought Villager for my brother off the UK eBay for around $25. It's not quite retail price, but it's a lot cheaper $60+. Not sure about the other ones.

The only wave 3 amiibo in my area so far is Bowser. I got a text saying that Toon Link would be hear soon, but I haven't heard or seen anything since. I don't think that Rosalina even was released in my area... I can't check for Lucario either since the closest Toy's R Us is extremely far away.

Wow that's a ton of Meta Knights. My BB only got 6. 4 for pre-orders. 2 first come first serve. Similar to the Rosalina situation I guess. Only if there were more Falcon Amiibo stocked here in California. The only sort of uncommon Amiibo we have around here is Samus. You'd have to drive for like 30 miles to have any shot at any rare Amiibo

It's technically not that much different, but the addition of the numbering on the package makes it better for collecting, unless you've already started collecting with US Packaging. If I ever decide to try and get duplicates to keep sealed, I'd probably import.

If it makes you feel better I have imported a LOT. Play-Asia is my favorite import store but I have relied on ebay for Japanese amiibos. My ebay experience has been good no horror stories most sellers have lots of positive feedback just avoid new sellers with a few points.

I am terrible at training my amiibo. On here I read they have additional strengths once they level up. My Link amiibo I leveled up to 50 is still terrible. My main is Link and I wail on my amiibo all the time. The amiibo can beat a lvl 9 1v1 but not two at the same time. Anybody know how to fix this?

Only Wave 3 I got was Bowser so far. Will buy Toon Link once I have the money. Sonic and Mega Man seem to be the harder ones to find, but they're not obscure characters for God's sake! :O

Just want to point out, he cannot be trying THAT hard. He got to his first TRU at 9.58, two minutes before they opened.

Has anyone heard anything about Wave 4 yet? Someone in line told me they went up on Amazon shortly a couple weeks ago, but I feigned gullibility and secretly called bull because I would've seen that through the constant site refreshing I've done. He might've meant UK Amazon, or didn't realize somebody else meant that when they told him.

After reading a lot of Amiibo tournament stories, I was inspired to set up my own using the Wave 1 & 2 Amiibo. I randomly split them into two groups of 9 and the top 4 in each grouping moved to the single elimination tournament. Tiebreaking for the tournament was decided by who had beaten/lost to the others in the tie. In the end, Captain Falcon won the tournament and is the first Amiibo Champion. I'll probably do another after I collect/train more Wave 3 Amiibo.

Group 1:
1. Wii Fit Trainer 7-1
2. Kirby 5-3
3. Mario 4-4
4. Samus 4-4
5. Luigi 4-4
6. Zelda 4-4
7. Peach 3-5

For the finale tournament, the top player from each group played the worst from the other down the list with plenty of upsets.

1. Wii Fit Trainer vs 4. Pikachu - Winner: Pikachu in a bit of a blowout. It was definitely the biggest upset!
2. Kirby vs 3. Captain Falcon - Winner: Captain Falcon
3. Mario vs 2. Villager - Winner: Mario
4. Samus vs 1. Marth - Winner: Marth (though it was a bit of a cheap KO that won the match)

Round 2:
Pikachu vs Captain Falcon - Winner: Captain Falcon (he led the whole match)
Mario vs Marth - Winner: Mario (Marth led the whole match but botched a recovery on his last life by trying to use Up+B on Mario below the edge.

Finals:
Captain Falcon vs Mario - Winner: Captain Falcon - He fell behind on the first stock but turned it around by the end.

I had the 2nd event of Season 1 of the Amiibo Dream Cup on Febuary 7th but never got around to posting it here, before I do that though some things were changed:

Each Season will be 8 events in total, 5 regular season, bracket events, and then the 3 playoff Events. For the 4 Amiibos that make it to the Dream Cup Playoffs: Event 6 will have the 1st and 3rd ranked will fight 9 sets, 1 on each legal stage, and the best 5 out of 9 will advance to Event 8, the Championships. For Event 7, 2nd and 4th ranked do the same. The Championship plays exactly the same as the other playoff events do.

Once I get a New 3DS/The Amiibo Adapter, the Dream Cup will have a Smash 3DS league, haven't decided what rules it will have but it will basically be the "minor" series for rookie and veteran amiibos alike.

Galaxy goes BACK TO BACK in her first two Event debuts, absolutely amazing she's able to fend off Firelord M and Cpt Norris. Since Event Wins determines who's in the playoffs (points serve as tiebreakers), Galaxy has CLINCHED her spot into the playoffs.
Firelord M made it to the finals this time, but the rookie still bested him.
Ravio has triumph as he finally gets into the Semi Finals after so many events before the Dream Cup formed, he could never make it out of the First Round.
Cpt Norris has a mediocre night, still hoping to get into the Playoffs.
Kurvy failed to make it out of Round 1, rough night but has potential to bounce back.
Lord Yoshi continues his struggles, additional training didn't help. I guess someone has to be the worst amiibo.
Dreamy L continues on his slump, his glory days might be over?!

As Galaxy claims another event, she adds to pressure mounting on these amiibos to not only get a playoff spot, but beyond in the Championships. And with 3 events left and only 1 different event winner so far, winning Event 3, 4, or 5 will guarantee a spot in the playoffs. The pressure is rising, who will make diamonds, and who will boil over?

I swear, if they run out of preorders for , , and/or the day they become available for preorder, I'm gonna lose it. Not worried about being rare since he's not an obscure character, you don't even have to be a fan of Pokemon to know who he is, so I don't think it'll be a huge deal if I don't preorder him.

if they're going to spend the time and money mass producing amiibo, it's going to be for a big game.
don't get me wrong, i think wonderful 101 is a cool game but i don't think that would happen.

Wonderful 101 isn't third party. Platinum Games developed it, but Nintendo own the IP. That's why Smash has W101 music and trophies.

Looks like I'm gonna have to wait until next week for my amiibo to arrive in the mail. Once I get him, the next one on my list is . Now I just need to wait for the wave 4 line so I can preorder and maybe .
I managed to preorder at GameStop which will come out in May, though I'm a bit skeptical about the release date. If I find him cheap at...ugh...eBay...then I'll order him there and cancel my GS preorder.

UK Amazon preorders for wave 4 sold out in minutes. The only NA retailer to offer them so far has been FYE, but no one knows how reliable they will be. Also, not all FYE stores sell Amiibo.

There's a rumor that wave 4 preorders will drop at Gamestop soon, but one guy has claimed you have to pay in full up front... I sure hope not. I'm a bit too poor to be able to afford more than one that way... If I had to pick just one wave 4 Amiibo to get, I'd pick Lucina. That cutie pie stole my heart in Awakening, and it's too expensive to buy her Figma. Ideally, though, if they allow $5 preorders, I'll be able to get Lucina, Robin, Ness, and Pac-Man.

Interesting information about amiibo sales in Japan. Apparently Marth is the fourth best selling amiibo in Japan, ahead of even Pikachu. Marth also sold through all available stock of himself the fastest in the US.
