I got andtoday at my local GameStop. If all else goes to plan with my preorders the only amiibo I'll be missing is the rare and elusive !

Seeing as I did not win that giveaway, I am back to hunting Little Mac.

I am kind of desperate. Little Mac simply never made it to Ireland, and unlike Rosalina (who also never made it to Ireland), I wasn't already deep into Amiibo hunting when he first came out, and he wasn't a character I would get if I was just getting characters I main/have sentimental value for, so I didn't pre-order him (my second Amiibo was Captain Falcon, on Wave 2 release. It was only when I got a lot of voucher cash and saw I could easily get Pit, WFT, Marth, and Villager, that I decided to get deep into it).

With Rosalina finally out of the way, and since I am getting my money back anyway, I'm focusing on Little Mac now.

I know we're not really supposed to discuss it here, but this will be my only post on it - if you have a spare Little Mac (region doesn't matter, just make sure he's in good condition) you are willing to get rid of, PM me. I will pay for retail price + whatever the shipping cost is for it. Alternatively, if you are still looking for Lucario, Ike, or Sheik, I can literally get one of those three (or all three, if you wanted to pay me for two and let Little Mac be payment for the third. I would not charge you for shipping in this case) right now without a problem, within Ireland, and would be willing to get one of them and trade you it for Little Mac, with neither of us having to pay each other. And of course, if for some reason you want one of the commons instead, I can simply get one of them for you, though I doubt that will be the case (unless you are short one common Amiibo to completing your current collection).

Gamestop's starting to annoy me with their late charges. I got a random fraud detection screening call the other day, and they said my card was used at some shop in Texas with a nondescript name (something like GSCO, made no sense over the phone) for over $200. I didn't recognize it at first, and came within moments of blocking my card and cancelling my payment on my Monster Hunter 4 New 3DS before realizing what it was.

Now, I think I burned myself out of my Gamestop Toad amiibo. I paid for it with a gift card, then last night used the same gift card to pre-order MH4 and buy Captain Toad for Valentine's day... it wasn't until today that I realized the gift card still had all $50 on it, so when they go to process the Toad amiibo they're going to find a card with 0$ balance set up as payment.

I'm very, very lucky Walmart put those Toads up for preorder less than half an hour before I made this realization so I could get myself a backup for the inevitable order cancellation I'm about to receive. Gamestop's phones and live chat had me on over an hour wait before I threw my hands up and said 'forget it.'

The store I've bought all of my amiibos at so far (which is also pretty much the only choice I have) opened preorders for Wave 3 literally 15 minutes ago.

They already ran out of Mega Man preorders.

What's even worse, is that besides Shulk, it's actually the only figure with no more preorders left, it's the only one I'm interested in of all the others in wave 3, and it's one of the only two that are no longer available. Talk about lucky.

They even have freaking Rosalinas available for god's sake, but they ran out of Mega Man instantly.

Welp, at the very least, I'm already on a waiting list of sorts if they ever get more. Don't know if that'll ever happen, but it's something.

I want your mom to be my mom. I've got a dad who checks amiibo inquirer himself, and he goes out of his way to get me amiibo (going to target early, driving all across town, etc.) because I have no hope of getting them in my town; all we have is a walmart who hasn't stocked wave 2 yet.

I got him immediately after when I was done with my work in college! I wanted to get a second one, but they only had enough Shulks for preorders.

Not only do I have amiibos of both of my mains in Smash, but also two of my favorite video game characters! (I also have Kirby and Mario amiibos)

I plan to preorder Robin as soon as he is available for preorder. After Robin, I don't think I will be getting any more amiibos.

Got my Shulk pre-order today and it looks so goooood, outside of a seemingly messy paint job. Some spots on his face and hair, his vest seems to have black smudges though I don't know if that's intentional or not. Right now his name is "The Heir" but I'm thinking of changing it to Geek Squad or Nerd Lord.

Got him to level 50 already though I might re-train him. He doesn't seem to emulate my offstage game very well and just jumps off and dairs (with which he misses like 99% of the time, and i didn't even use that much while training him in comparison to fair) and he self destruct's like crazy since he air dodges in reaction to absolutely everything. I swear I saw my Pit amiibo grab the ledge that Shulk was jumping towards, and then air dodged in response and then died.

Also, King Dedede has vanished from my pre-orders list, though Sonic and Mega Man are still present. However he was apparently not at Gamestop when I went to pick up Shulk. Hopefully he'll be there by this weekend.

Got him to level 50 already though I might re-train him.

In my experience with my Rosalina, she was extremely derpy for hours after getting to lvl50. Then, after fighting most of the roster through random 1v1 against lvl9 CPUs, she gradually became awesome. I thought about resetting as well, but I don't think it's a necessary action unless the amiibo continues such self-destructive tendencies ~2 hours of battles after being lvl50.

I took a trip to Toys R Us and Best Buy today, to try and find Dedede, or an extra Lucario or Meta Knight (to try and trade for a Shulk), no luck there. Best Buy had nothing aside from a few Peaches and a Luigi. Toys R Us had a bunch of the usuals, with plenty of Bowser, a few Toon Links, and a Sheik. I'll try again on Friday to see if I can get anything.

Shame all the GameStops around me have no Shulks... I could always buy him on eBay for around $30.

Seems that Nintendo may be trying to sell out that incarnation in favor of Super Mario Yoshi and Peach.

Soon, all Smash amiibo may be rare.

I really don't care, considering I got a replacement. The way I see it, the poor handling over the situation plus an unacceptably long wait time for customer service cost them a sale - unless they ask me to update my payment method before outright canceling it, in which case I'll gladly do that and have two.

The same thing happened to the first Yoshi figure my girlfriend was trying to customize into Boshi. She said the head was wiggling, she thought "Oh, I didn't know these things were supposed to move," and then Yoshi's head popped right off in her hand. At least she'd barely started on it at the time!

TRU is releasing wave 3.2 (DDD, MM, Sonic) tomorrow, 2/13. They won't have Meta Knight as he is exclusive to Best Buy. My TRU received most of the wave 3.2 Amiibo yesterday (had Sonic last week). Going by what we received Ike and Dedede look to be the rarest of the four non-exclusive figures. This is what my store has for release day tomorrow:

My Toys R Us was adamant about 'not breaking release date,' though I informed 3 managers and 9 staff members that in the past, they in fact have. It just takes one employee.

Luckily, I picked up my preordered Lucario, but a few days later the put out the stock, and had to cancel at least 5 people's preorders because some ignorant employee put them out.

I feel badly for that kid, I tried to fight the good fight to educate the store.
Yet, no more could I do.
I wonder if it ever got Ike, Sonic, Dedede, or Megaman.

Considering the four store exclusives, the scattered overall management from store to store, and the disparaging information from retail brands over all, I think trying to classify this wave in decimal categorizations is futile.

I started out saying I would just get my favorite characters, but I kept adding to that list and now want to get at least 40 of the 48 characters (not counting Mewtwo) in the game. Now I am thinking about getting all of them if I can. The only Amiibo I haven't obtained through wave 3.1 are & . I don't quite have yet, but I traded my extra for him with someone on a Transformers message board and USPS tracking says it is now "out for delivery."

I am going to try my local Gamestop tomorrow to see if they might have available. It's a smaller city store, so I am hoping they will have an extra after filling pre-orders. I am more concerned about getting at Best Buy, which will apparently be released next week.

That may have been an initial plan, but no way is that truly reflected in stores.

Were all different dates, and the other ones, slated for different days as well, have been pushed back multiple times, arrived early, etc.

Add in the fact stores can just sell them anytime they want, if they decide to...There aren't divisions of the waves with these.
