On the subject of the up-B to the wall jump I had a thought....

I don't know if this would work, and if it's possible at all I doubt anyone would be able to do it without an AR, but my thought was if someone is edge-hogging you does the ledge act like a wall? If so wouldn't it be possible to up-B wall jump the ledge while being hogged while your opponent is invincible?

I dunno, it's just a thought, and I'd love to see if it would be possible, but like I said you'd probably need an AR to do it which I don't have..

yes that is very possible.

and you dont have to hug the wall beforehand, you just have to jump towards it beforehand and lean the up-b into it.

so i recently found out iw as playing with rumble off.....i dotn know how i never noticed it before but it must have been justs oemthing that grew on me since the last tornament. apperently someone at the last tourny turned it off and i just put it back on today and realized a great increase in tech skill and game play. i am ashamed to say but i think i am a noob for this completely.

completely irrelavent to mario but still, there bestowes my problem

I actually agree with you. I turned it off once(a long time ago but still) and I didn't play as well. I don't know what it is, but something doesn't work right in my brain when it's subconsciously expecting a rumble to respond to and it doesn't happen. It's REALLY weird

PM's a ROBOT?? LOL

I thought that you DID have to start the upB while hugging the stage. That's what Eggz said anyways.....plus I tried the other way and couldn't do it.

I need help on vs DK.

How should i approach DK?
in my opinion, the facts are like..
DK UpB >> Mario's Falling Nair or Dair
DK's Grab range >>> Mario's grab range
Dk's Bair >> Mario's Bair
Dk's Fair >>>> Mario's Fair
Dk's Giant punch >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mario's Everything

i don't know what to do..

Mac, for me, mindgames are how I approache everyone. With DK it's no different, change between DD and WD and try to come in and attack as he is setting up for one(Fair or jumping ready to attack) or when he may be running towards you. Vary all of the things you do, try to JC grab approache to not get shield grab, attck his shield and get away before the up-B comes out, dash away from the Bair then towards him, and try to play more defensive/anticipate the Giant Punch. DK is really easy to combo from a Uthrow at lower and Dthrow at higher percents. From either of these you can get some CG action or Uair combo to Fsmash or Nair, depending on the situation. Hope that helps!

I'm not saying just run up and do it, just saying you have to vary approache tactics to keep him guessing about what you will do so he can't take advantage of his larger range.

im kinda curious to see how the match is vs DK. i never fight an dk's. its as if no one in ohio likes the fugging ape xD. its kinda funny cause when iw as trying to decide what new character to get good with, dk was my second choice.

Pros for Mario: Mad combos from Uthrows at lower percents, and a little CG and combos from Dthrow at medium to higher percents. He's fairly easy to edgeguard as well since his up-b is horizontal. That's easy enough to win if you can get grabs or Uair chain started early.
Cons: DK has great range, which can force you to be more defensive, not a good idea for Marios in general. DK's WoP is also very difficult to get around as well and edgeuards and finishes well.
To me, Mario should win this matchup everytime if both players are skilled.

Coin, you have to watch him pretty closely. If he drops more then you edgehog, if he goes up early you can get Fsmash(if he's level with you), and if he's higher you may be able to get a Bair after the move is finished, and of course if he's way above you that would be the only time you really couldn't edgeguard him well. Takes a little practice like everything else, but after that it's an easy edgeguard.

i dont think it should matter who you edgeguard. its the fact that either way you look at it you have to analyze your oppenent and get them before they get you. so just like peepee said, you have to watch em closely, but is that not like any other person you've edgeguarded? sure being a different character matters and you most likly wanna know what works best but what works best for you and someone else are two different things.

well it does matter who you edge guard againts, depending on the character and the moves you use to edgeguard

true, it is different, but youd still have to analyze them before you made your move. "like a u-smash isnt gonna get a ledge hopping fox, so lets d-smash" and what i was meaning about the difference in ppl would be maybe someone else would f-smash cause it works better for their play style

Yeah, cuz it'll be a whole lot harder to edgeguard Mewtwo or Pikachu or Peach than a DK that can only go horizontally. Agreein with Shok there.

well yeah, thats works sometimes, but sometimes you just have to use your common sence and do the right move, not anything you think might work and have doubts about, no matter how much you want to

Best thing to know when to move in and when to come back. Ganon has high priority, so he doesn't prefer to get close although he is powerful there as well. One of the maqin things I notice as I play him is that if you run in on him and he jumps back, don't attack(unless you are fast and are trying to mix it up). Get close on him when he lands, best thing to do to accomplish this (from limited Ganon experience) is to dash/WD in close, force a jump/shield/attack, then dash/WD back in to respond accodingly until he catches on. After he finds out how you are getting inside his spacing, he may do some wizard foot's (down-B), and change his game, so respond accordingly. Your biggest advantage is speed and comboability. From throws to Utilt Uair combo to Fsmash to cape edgeguard is your best turnaround, maybe you can't get that in all at once though. Use your speed, stay in constant motion so he can't fully utilize his massive priority. I'm sorry this is a really lengthy and sporadic post, I'm happy for school break! Hope this helps!
