Most of the advanced techniques have been dropped, chef, including wavedashing and L-cancelling. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Lol, I keep up to date.

Same here, I couldn't wait any longer. I just kept most of the SSE under wraps, that's one thing I don't want spoiled.

Yeah, I have been listening to the soundtrack. 314 songs! AMAZING! That's enough songs for like 15 rpgs!

Also, I'm sure there is a way to L-Cancel in Brawl. There was two different methods between SSB and SSBM, so I don't see why there shouldn't be one in SSBB. If there isn't, I blame the community. There was a lag cancel at E4All and everyone started blabbing about it, Sakurai probably saw this, and removed it.

Good job Smashboards -.-

Lol don't get mad about everything. I guess that it was also because of e for all and smashboards that metaknight isn't WAAAY over powered and Ike doesn't blow as much. An L Cancel will be discovered. Just give it some time

1) I like Toon Link's name. 2) Yu-Gi-Oh's toon monsters were bad ***. 3) Luigi's final smash is freakin cheap, kick ***, and one heck of an acid trip lol. It makes everyone go all slow and he's running around normally plus they take constant damage!!! Wow...

His final smash actually sucks. just run to the far side of the screen and keep jumping up. It shouldn't last long enough to hit you. I avoided it all but twice, I believe. Once when I wasn't paying any attention at all and once when I underestimated how long it stayed out (I didn't do my third jump because I thought it was almost over).

Pikmin & Olimar are the ****.

So, let's plan the Brawl play day, ya?

I'm free either Friday or Saturday; so either one of those two days will be good.

How many people do you plan on inviting? The same people that you mentioned back in a post a couple weeks ago?

Also, please let me know your opinion on Falco. I've heard from some that he is garbage and from others that he is good. His playstyle seems to have changed dramatically, changing from an offensive character to a more defensive one.

I also want to let everyone know that my mindset going into Brawl has changed. At first I believed I could play the game using a playstyle similar to that in melee. But after watching countless vids (with many people trying to play the game like melee), that method just doesn't seem to work. In other words, I'm going to play Brawl with a more creative mindset.

Good call on the creative mindset. All of us are going to have to do that. hey Kash. How was it when you did your first match? I mean did you have a really hard time controlling (whoever you played first)... actually who did you play first?

So how was it Kash? I bet it was the greatest feeling in the world playing Brawl, lol I can't wait any longer curse them for pushing the game for so long, but I read on a thread that they may give out the demo at the gamestop stores for playing if its true, I'm going to be the first one in line lol.

You definitely need to approach Brawl with a more creative mindset. Simply trying to play it like Melee does not work.

The first thing I did was go to Classic with Mario. My first match was against Link. Very first thing I tried to do instinctively and failed hard was wavedash. Throughout the enitre game I was just airdodging into the air instead of wavedash, so that takes some getting used to, not much, though. After about 5 or 8 matches you should be fine. I also find, despite their being no L-Cancel, me hitting my R button to try and cancel the lag. It's just habit.

As for Falco... I've played him a little bit. I like him, but I'm not sure about him as a very strong character. His short hop laser doesn't seem too practical. No approaching or anything with it, just to do some damage or stop an attack. His up tilt is very good, IMO. Falco is interesting and if you were used to playing Melee Falco Brawl Falco will be a big change. I keep trying to do Melee Falco's nair but getting a complete (and often less effective) result. You'll have to say for yourself.

As for the game itself... it's great. I beat SSE and I unlocked the characters and most the stages. It took me awhile to realize I was playing Brawl, though. Like... I don't know. Just in the middle of a match it hit in my the face... I was playing Brawl. It was an interesting and awesome sensation.

So, how does this sound. this Saturday, aka tommorrow, at my house at 6:00 PM. You are more than welcome to spend the night. In fact, I encourage it.

Invite List: GoldenGlove (Steven), Delux (David), Zenkai (Kendric), AlphaBravo (Paul), Orion, and Jacob won't be able to come, so... whatever.

That's who I am inviting. If anyone else wants to come, tell me so, and I'll see if you can. We need someone to take Jacob's spot anyways, probably Destry.
