Sorry, raywilliamjohnson has all of you beat. He's just some jersey shore looking homo who steals other people's vids and adds his douchey commentary.

I don't watch it. Since he's a huge pop star, I was bombarded by links from my friends to see him.

It's pathetic really.

I have a question for anybody who knows about this (probs david?):

If I wanted to switch from general sciences to chemical engineering, what would it be like? Is there a minimum gpa required? And out of math 114, stats 141, chem 101, chem 102, and chem 261, how many could I get credit for in the engg equivalent?

can we decrease the price on the venue fee for the melee tourney tmr its way tooo muchhhh
Everything is waaay tooo muchhh already. I mean $35 if i was non-member and just wanted melee. But it looks like I'm probably not going anyways.

Anyone have results from today though?

If you already didnt know (I think i might have told you this before) in our first engg 100 class, they told us out of the ~800 first year engineers, about 13 UofA transfers were taken. And then they went on to say that they'll probably stop accepting uofa transfers into the faculty. They never told us why. Of course i would go and talk with someone in the faculty if you really do want to get in. I dont really know the minimum required GPA, i just decided to apply last minute and was pretty forunate i guess.

You'll get engg credits for math 114, chem 101, chem 102 and chem 261 also english. You'll be missing En phys, math 101(math 115 equiv.), math 102 (math 120/125 equiv.), engg 130, encmp 100, phys 130, engg 100, engg 101.

hah haaaaaaaa~ Tyler you thinking of becoming a ChemE????

i'm surprised that they only take a dozen or so transfer students :/ Like, we go from 1200ish students down to almost 700 by the time first year is over. You'd think they'd be more willing to accept transfers.

Tyler brings up a point. I don't get how it works and i'm curious. What if you decide to start over from scratch and you go into Engineering as if you never took first year science...do they look at your first year gpa or your high school mark? Why wouldn't certain course credits transfer over? (especially chem)

They only care about high school marks if you're fresh out of high school.

If you've taken school anywhere else there's an automatic prejudice. This is reason 1 of several hundred why the faculty of engineering are *****es

yeah i've been thinking about business (accounting actually pays very well) or chemical engineering for a little while now. i think i'm willing to sacrifice my life for the next 4 years to become an engineer

and ****, i can't believe one stupid year could make that much of a difference. that's actually ********.

The average this year was roughly around 88% for the high school entrants. Pretty high considering lots probably bombed english. Like Carl said, they wont look at your high school marks now and yeah other schools get priority :l No idea how or why they do it like this.

The deadline for business is something like march 1st, so dont forget like i did last year, then have to end up in engineering.
jk best decision of my life

6th floor of ETLC. You dont get credits for stats in first year. You're required to take stats 235 in second year i believe though.

Definitely talk to an advisor and see how that goes

Needless to say, the entry fee is high, but typically good tournaments will expect a $50-60 dollar commitment because you'll enter singles/doubles in one maybe two events plus actually being cool and MM'ing/entering multiple games. But thats not exactly common for you yet, but maybe in the future

Also I'm coming tomorrow, it's still at 3 correct? Cool, same-ish place? Someone keep their phone on *cough* Paul so I can get a hold and find my way to the actual hall.

Anyways, anyways, super team win tomorrow is me

wow im impressed its that high haha. It was only 82% for my year I think. It must be that a lot of people did better in english haha. Cause I only know 2 people(lara and carl) in my year who had >80% in english.

yeah chemical is a really good choice, especially at uofa. The uofa chemE program is in the top 5% in north america and the top program in canada

er, you probably remembered wrong, cause 80% is the cut off, there's no way 82% is the average.

in my year, the average was 87.2%.

nah i've been thinking about this for the past two months or so. i'm interested mainly in chemical engineering because i find chemistry really interesting, plus my ochem can probably go towards it (unless that's only for biomed engg).

I did. With the Melee players that did show up (:ganondorf: ftfw). We also played some Brawl for the fun of it too. Your point? I had to leave to go home because there was no one to look after my animals for the day.

Don't hype **** up that people aren't going to follow up on. Hope Jack and Dan wreck you all at Melee (no offense meant to Paul and those in Calgary. I also gotta root for my Edmonton boys.) I'm going to bed now. Thanks, to the people that did show up. I had a lot of fun playing with you guys.

DumberChild, Steven, Ben, Paul (even if you're a Melee guy. I OWE YOU A 1 vs 1 MATCH) and the other Melee guys, Hansel, thanks for the games. If I missed anyone, apologies. Tired as hell. Spent way too much money for just a day's tournament with a subpar attendance. At least we got to refund our Doubles money because only Edmonton signed up. lol

Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh, but I woke up at 4:00 AM to accomodate for Arsenal & Fiji, and to bring Frio as well. This? I had absolutely no problem with (sorry about the gong show that was trying to find you guys in the morning LOL), especially with the promising idea of 30+ competitors to make it a worthwhile bit to drive.

[EDIT]

Oh, and GGs again to everyone in pools, and the twins for knocking me out and putting me in 7th for my comeback tourney. Real nice, MKs. Real nice. :troll:

I promise that the next carpool will go a lot smoother instead of me having to fly down the highway at 130/140 KPH. XD Guess I lived up to my main's sake.

Engineering has lowered my standards :[

ochem goes towards Chem E, but i remember Tyson mentioning something about how there is very little chemistry involved, mainly just math.

Brandon, thats absolutely terrible. Only Edmonton signed up for doubles? wtf. You guys put a **** ton of effort into organizing this trip, that just sucks.
