FMA has great VA.

And the brawl VA isn't bad for English. Wolf is southern instead of bloody british, but that's about it.

You really would rather have moonspeak grunts than something you understand?

EDIT: "Weaklings, the bunch of you." really does grate on me though.

Trigun. :D 10char
darn. you beat me to it. <3 Trigun Cowboy Bebop is great too. i wish i had that series on dvd. i have Trigun and Record of Lodoss War (not that i like those dubs. Parn sounds like a tard.)

and f*ck Crashboards last night. i swear, it was working fine when i got on, then i wanted to post and discuss the whole VA thing, and what happens??? "CANNOT LOCATE SERVER!!!! INTERNET ASPLODED!!"

i'm not even gonna bother anymore.

oh, and Moogle, thanks for that. you're amazing as always:grin: i heard something about you having Brawl thursday night, is that gonna happen?

btw guys. i downloaded the OST of Brawl. it's 314 tracks, lol. i just have to say how friggin amazing this game's music is. All of those composers didn't come together for nothin. There's a ton of stuff that i had no idea about, like Zelda: A Link to the Past's Dark World theme. that's one of my favorite Zelda themes of all time. There's so many memories in this set. If you have a gig of memory just sitting around, i'd say it'd be worth it to get the Brawl OST. totally worth it.

EDIT: ah!! crap, munkus!! i didn't even think of FMA. i'm ashamed.:embarrass

well can we all agree that sonic's voice is pretty good.

and of course snakes, david hayter rox

i just think we should consider games like brawl 'par', and not forget games with truly bad voice acting, like the original Resident Evil...or Mega Man VIII

actually, my first anime was DBZ ^.^

then came Gundam Wing and Outlaw Star. good times.
well everyone's first anime was DBZ lol
but after DBZ blew up, Cartoon Network starting airing those other shows you mentioned and thats how most of us got into anime in the first place.

i'm not really a big fan of anime though. I think the overwhelming majority of it is garbae, or at most overrated.

I think cowboy bebop is perfect though. and I'm also a big fan of naruto.

Moogle that list is awesome. I had actually been looking for something like this, just to compare characters. It makes me wonder about how important the air game with be for some characters, and what kind of fighting styles we will see.

I'm sure the space animals will be hopping all over the place, but characters like DDD and best on the ground, or so it seems.

As far as those charcter voices, i think they'll sound better in game. If you think about fox's taunt "Come on" outside of his cool visual aspect it sounds kinda gay too. I do have to admit though, i don't see Ike being a friendly mercenary, that one jsut kinda sucks.

Majist, DBZ ftw ^^ i loved that show when i was younger. Goku's hair just kept getting longer 0o i personally love Full Metal Alchemist, even though they don't go to far with the series, it was still a really good animie.

As usual, I have an opinion. Imagine that.

I agree with you. I've always enjoyed animation, but like Pixar, anime seems to often tread its own trite and familiar ground. I have a select few favorites and can do without the rest. I like some of the Miyazaki, Otomo and Satoshi Kon films and some of the high profile tv serials like LAIN, Bebop and Berserk.

And while this may be true for a certain age range, DBZ certainly wasn't my first anime. I never really liked that show, though I remember it enjoying much popularity. The truth is that I can't remember my first anime but it was probably Speed Racer or Robotech. Maybe Voltron? They were all on TV when I was very young. Either way, I was too consumed with Legos and Transformers to care, although the Black Lion often found his way into a pile of Legos.

true, i think i should say DBZ was probably the first most people like actually got into. i dunno, at my middle school that was like the big thing, everyone drew and printed out goku pictures and debated over 'how they were gonna beat Frieza"

I think all in all, most people agree that DBZ isn't really that great. its just nostalgia maybe

i'm pretty sure I watched random episodes of speed racer and also ronin warriors before DBZ though

Fair enough. Speed Racer wasn't really that great either, but people died... not a common occurance in kids shows at the time.

@ Majist: rite on.

DBZ is a "Beginner Anime" as i call it sometimes, the only reason most people like it is because of the action and violence. Me on the other hand i love just about all types of anime. Hell Majist sould know from talking to me on AIM and looking at my MAL list. I'm just getting started on watching anime too, i have a ton to catch up on and new ones to watch. Also something that i thought that was very unique is that my mom doesnt like anime or "cartoons" as she puts it sometimes.... but one night when my little cousin was visiting we watched "Howls Moving Castle " and she loved every bit of it.

[EDIT] - Nice Spiderman typing coach XD.

[EDIT 2] - Lol i sound like a nerd or a geek talking about anime as such. Oh well i like what i like XP.

Whoa midguy lol ouch.

So guys you want to smash today? (Thursday) i have today off and i'd really like to take the opportunity to play brawl before the tourny. I'll even go get the wii from Moogle's friends house of that is necessary. I'll give moogle a call and ask and see if around 5 or 6 is ok, or even if its possible to do at all.

FYI Tuscaloosa peeps: I have a friend who told me that while they are doing tournies there, the Gamestops are not doing midnight releases. Sounded weird, so I checked the site and sure enough there are 2 lists, one for stores having tournies, and one for stores having midnight release. No tuscaloosa store is listed in the latter.

Just a heads up so that you can double check and plan accordingly.

Indeed. It's been too long. I will be present today, possibly as early as 6 p.m., and will initiate some sort of pizza run. To top it off I have a few nostalgic Nintendo items that the group should enjoy checking out.

I fear that if I don't do my taxes before Brawl's release, they will not get done. Seriously.

(post 500)

My best so far are Ike/ROB/ZSS/Mario.

I think Sunday everyone's gonna want a little alone time with that special someone (Brawl).

Coach's Lucario and Moogle's ZSS wreck me. Do not understand. Oh and I don't "get" Brawl Mario yet. I still like Lucas and Ness, but haven't adapted enough to be effective with them. Thus far, my only comfortable character is Snake. Snake is like playing with items turned on... in a good way.
