they may not learn, but they sometimes seem to adapt. some guy once manipulated a samus into SWD'ing. he may be lying. who cares.

obvious lie: in "do lvl 9 comps learn?" thread, someone got infinite drill shined to 999% damgae by a lvl 9 fox.

yeah.
right. :freak: :rotfl:

apart from the smilies, i think that comps are capable of the following (insome cases):
mimiking
adapting
manipulation

comps don't learn. They can meteor smash and L-cancel because they are programed to do so. One time I got caped by Mario, but I seriously think that was a coincedence.

Everything a computer does is based on five simple factors.

Where you are in relation to them.
Whether they are in the air or on the ground.
What character they are playing as.
What item they are carrying.
What items are on the playing field.

Based on those factors, anything that a comp has ever done, can be duplicated by playing as the same character, on the same course, doing the same thing, on the same frame. And the two comp AI rules you must remember are...
1)Comps never learn.
2)COMPS NEVER LEARN!!!
The only reason that they might ever seem to learn is because everything they do is based on what you do. And if you improve, then the things you do will change what they do. Simple way to prove it is play without your memory card, the comps will still do the same stupid things they always do.

And lastly, comps can do Samus' super wave dash(which should be called a boost ball in my opinion, 'CAUSE THAT'S WHAT IT IS!) it's just a matter of getting the comp to move one direction on the ground on the second to last frame of the morph ball and then getting him to switch direction on the next frame. It's rare surcumstances, but it's possible.

depends what youdo and what cheats you are using

some of them crash alot, alot (like debug)

i think it's worth it if you have alot of games you have beat/bored with, that you can use codes with, but getting it for one game is kinda pointless

Debug only crahses if you do an invalid setup, so with some memery you can avoid crashes. Now, if you don't want crashes, do NOT use Moveswap. That things crashes like a mofo. Just make sure you dont use your usual memory card with your AR. I made that mistake and all my data go "Poof"!

Basically, don't do completely outrageous stuff (999% Sandbag+Homerun bat=Crash), and don't use it with your memory card and you'll be fine.

And by memory with the debug menu, here's what you need to remember when you set it up.
-never put a char. on "none" in Char select, when "kind select" is anything but none.
-Never win with a nonplayable character, this will freeze. If you're about to win, declare so and kill yourself.
-Akenia (sp) will ALWAYS freeze the game.
-In develop mode, too many objects/items created will make the game lag.
-Playing on "Dummy", "Icetop", "Figureget", "1-1Kinoko", or the hyrule adventure stage (forgot the name) will freeze if you dont have These codes:

"Dummy" and "IceTop" playable (version 1.2)(wparam)
Y07T-75KH-UX3X4
FKNZ-39HF-7XCTP
K22D-EC8A-YWETG
N3E9-E0YT-ARXBP

Mushroom kingdom and hyrule maze adventure stages don't crash
when melee matches are played on them: (wparam)
C7RG-4PEZ-R29DR
F6QQ-VYMN-XDMPN
D75D-B1CF-RMBBK
PKYW-K27R-7BQC5

Trophy get stage doesn't crash the game when melee matches
are played on them (wparam)
2Y7R-K16R-DU9VV
WW87-EXP7-0KJDG

(codes from arcentral.net)
I think that's it. It may seems like alot, but those scenarios are not hard to avoid, trust me.

The Fire Emblem level, I think, was completely removed, and if it was, then there's no way to access it. And if you want to play as sand bag without it freezing, give him either Pichu's or Pikachu's moves and it'll work perfectly, at least on V1.2. Still can't shield with sand bag without it freezing though, probably can't do B moves either.

I find Pichu to be the only character compatable with everyone. All of his attacks are either torso, head, or disjointed attacks. And judging by the various combinations I've tried, Pichu/Pikachu are the only movesets that sandbag can use at all, even the grabs. Another fun one to try is Game & Watch with Pichu/Pikachu moves. When he does arial attacks, he still takes out the various items he normally uses, but they don't do anything special, just looks funny. Another good one is Mario with G&W's move set.

P.S. I'm not sure if you can use moveswap on G&W in V1.0 without it crashing, but feel free to try.

it removes all the particle effects and makes you look "evil"

also, there is ports to the no crash codes on ARcentral's forums
for anyone who has an account.

they need 1.1 version testers with AR

Picture perfect was meant to be taken literally. :/
DK as Pikachu is still suprisingly compatible.

The only perfect moveswap I've encountered so far is Ganondorf as CF, whom I haven't seen a crash with yet.

Hey. I noticed on arcentral some of the codes don't follow the XXXX-XXXX-XXXXX pattern. I am very new to using A.R. and am wondering how to put codes in different patterns to use?

For example the peach pulls a certain thing out of the ground cheat... Itis too long and I don't know how to enter it. Help would be appreciated.

Three things I notice about Moveswap.

  1. Game & Watch freezes the game when he tries to copy moves.
  2. Clones work perfectly or almost perfectly.
  3. Most projectile moves freeze the game, but disjointed hitboxes do not. (e.g., Ice Climbers' shot move freezes the game, yet the hammer "exists.")

@flamestar: Thanks i found the program and got a few more codes i wanted working. I do have 1 weird thing tho... If you put the kirby body change (where he's always a weight or a rock) and Ganandorf holds the sword cheat at the same time ganandorf is invisible and a sword floats in his place.

So i wasted three hours inputting codes yesterday.. My AR got a hardware problem and it needed to be reset.. Do you ever had it. Is there a way to prevent it. Because its annoying to first input like dozens of codes with +20 entries and then "Error! Hardware Is Being Reset."

Edit: I'm not sure if this is important but I have AR MAX

so with moveswap, some characters are "compatible"? Mine was always freezing. I tried Pichu as Marth, Kirby as samus, samus as mewtwo, mario as doc, and i forget what else.

You can't just try any combination of characters and expect it to work. You need to experiment and see what does and doesn't crash the game. Here are some combinations I can offer you.

Perfect (next to no crashing):
Ganon as CF
Roy as Marth

Fairly good:
CF as Samus
Zelda and DK as Pikachu
Bowser as CF
Doc as Mario

Be careful with these:
Fox as Peach
Peach as Zelda
Mario as Doc

Typically, B-moves and attacks that make part of your character invincible (ie. Peach's usmash) will crash the game when you try to moveswap them. There are also a great many combinations of characters that trigger instant freezes, so just avoid them once you come across them the first time.
