Hey guys,

Simple thing, post what payout distribution you would prefer for brawl teams/melee teams pot.

100
80/20
70/30
60/30/10

I vote for 100 to first.

80 : 20

OR just like 90:10 or something idk

the reason i change mind is coz i reckon second should at least get their entry fee back or something ;/

But then theres more ceebs ness...

nah screw it

100:0 lol

80:20 >> 70:30

Wait how big is the pot expected to be? That would change it up heaps
Would 20% be around $50?

$10 venue fee (sunday) -> $5 to venue $5 to pot

That $5 to pot is split between both games. This is not split evenly, it's based on entrants for each game and I'd presume Brawl is getting less than Melee (not by much though)

Then $5 per a team entry (I just realised I didn't clarify this on the first post)

Thus in reality youre looking at ~ $10 to pot per entrant. for 2nd to get $50 with 80/20 we would need 25 teams abouts (probably a bit more though).

I just realised it's possible for 2nd to get $50 with 80/20 seeing as 25 is a feesable number.

i vote for 100/0. our tournaments aren't that big. if the teams prize pool is around $200, make 1st worth your while. if its $300+ then sure break it down to 80/20 or similar

the top teams in melee aren't very competitive as it is, so this should help

so each team that is entering is contributing around $10 total to the pot
30 teams ~ $300
70:30 split
$210 for first ($105 each)
$90 for second ($45 each)

solid work dekar i agree

100:0 pot split at a national tournament, or ANY tournament with more than 10 entrants? SIF

tbh i expect around 16-20 entrants for brawl doubles ( a bit optimistic)
16 = $160 pot
70:30 = $112 / $48 -> $56 each / $24 each
80:20 = $128 / $32 -> $64 each / $16 each

20 = $200 pot
70:30 = $140 / $60 -> $70 each / $30 each
80:20 = $160 / $40 -> $80 each / $20 each

In the case of 16 man, if we do 70:30, 1st only just gets entry covered.
if we do 80:20 they make ~$10 profit, and in both cases 2nd places pay is a nice amount imo, not a big difference

In the case of 20 man, if we do 70:30, the winner gets $20 profit if they enter everything (its $50 right? or $55?) and the 2nd place covers entry for the doubles day.
If it's 80:20, the winner makes some legit green and 2nd still pays for doubles day.

These are just statistics and dont sway either way
But from looking at them i prefer 80:20

And just quickly
100/0 -
16 entrants - $80 each (the same amount as 20 entrants with 80:20 split)
20 entrants - $100 each (yummy)

60/30/10 no way lol
That'd be terrible
please no 60/30/10
so bad

3rd doesnt really deserve anything in teams
considering FOUR people are getting money
SIX would divide it up too much
In singles its only THREE people that get money (im pretty sure singles is 60/30/10 yeah)
So divided by four for doubles is enough already

60/30/10 still beats the hell out of 100:0
why the sudden push to change traditional pot payout ratios?!

Because there are better alternatives lol

80:20 is my favourite option personally
70:30 would actually be better with a smaller pot, because it is better than 80:20 at assuring 2nd place gets venue fee back in case there is less money going around.

Need more Jackpawtt

@ZXV: This thread is only about teams pot lol. Singles is going to be 60:30:10 for sure im quite sure

deks: because $21 is such a GREAT consolation prize, loooool

i think pot splits should be proportional to the amount of respect people get for their placements anyway, hence 100-0 makes even more sense :p
edit:

100-money back works or 90-10, i guesssssss
