Oh, if I can make it I can bring a melee setup if it's needed (GC, memory card, melee) but someone will have to clear a few events first as I have yet to unlock FD (and a few other stages for that matter). I suck at melee XD

Hey on the list on equipment it shows theres 4 game cubes and 5 melees. theres 6 wiis and theres gunna be 1 melee left over for 1 of those wiis and theres 4 brawl discs. That means 5 setups of melee and 4 for brawl. but There is one wii left over with no melee or brawl. is there someone gunna bring an extra melee or brawl?

Edit: I just saw tommys thing about bringing a ps3 i guess the 10th and last tv will be taken up by PS3? oh and what game on ps3? (better be Tekken 6 XD)

More Edit: Shh vector man, why do the melee players always have to flame brawl and be angry. The brawl players are always peaceful by accepting both melee and brawl why cant melee players just do the same.

bravo tim bravo! well said. brawl is a unholy abomination of a game. id rather watch melee then play brawl. and yea jeff is good at brawl too timmy, it would break your heart to see it lol. but jeff is **** so he does what he wants you gonna stop him tim? jeff is like a demon biker renegade traveling this world searching for more souls to steal.

Also apparently because my car is too "ghetto" for Kira's mom (though its more like last tuscon tourney kira told her that we were just going to chris's house...), she's driving him up to tuscon. And he wants to ride with chris and jard, so... yeah, I'm fine with what ever happens just as long as I know... also that means I can give bryce a ride if he still needs one...

Kira: It's because the Melee population sort of lessened (or receives less attention now) now that Barlw came out. It's called RAGE @ NOOBS WITHOUT TALENT FOR TECH SKILL!

Melee players: you are asking for something that Barlw players don't have. You need tech skill to play Melee. If you don't have the talent, you won't succeed in it. it's why they play Barlw onry. Barlw is just Melee minus the tech skill + apparent shenanigan mindgames.

It's really quite stupid, imo -- if melee didn't require such a technical boundary, I'm sure all of our Barlw players could play Melee just as well as they do Barlw. the worst part is: the tech skill is all talent.

Smash 64, now that's a real man's game with tech skill. One missed L-cancel and you're dead.

I would bring a setup but nobody plays it

One missed cancel is much more significant in 64. Melee you need to anticipate some DI and techchase to combo well, but in 64 if you're consistent you will zero-to-death to punish a mistake.

L-cancelling isn't hard to learn but Brawl players don't like Melee because they were introduced to Brawl first and their standard of difficulty for things like tech are much more different than Melee players and it's intimidating. It's easier to be good at Brawl, that's all.

but i'm not bashing on your or anything, brawl is the more popular game, and easier to boot, so of course most people will gravitate to it, we all play competitively to be the best, and for a newcomer at least, it is much shorter, and much more prosperous path (if you reach pro levels that is) picking up brawl rather than melee.




also just for the record, STARCRAFT is a real man's game ;D or CS 1.6 too. or if we're gonna get really literal, then **** it, FIGHTING is the ultimate man game. haha

Assuming I'm reading this right, I have to disagree. A couple months ago (read: the middle of last year) yeah, people's skill was improving at a slow rate, especially in the ****ty Arizona scene, where everyone got away with doing things like spamming down airs or rolling and tilting. Most people that stopped playing around then had the idea that "brawl has no depth, you can't get better, there is no skill" ect. The people that actually play Brawl now though can say that Brawl isn't just a "walk in ok now ur pro gg" game anymore, you actually have to put a bit of time and effort into it if you want to be more than "ok". Even Axe and Wobbles can't get away with melee skill alone. They have to put a bit of time into it, even if it's just practicing infinites.

Of course, Melee is still the way better game and I love it more even though I don't play it as much as I want, it's just that Brawl isn't [completely] the shallow garbage it used to be.

I remember me and Tai's futile attempt at that .random tournament last year in May. That made me realize it. I'm not downgrading Barlw in anyway at all. It's a game of its own that does have its own merits so I'll just leave it at that.

I bet even if you practiced for 3 months, you would still lose to people like Justin and I who don't play melee

I don't see how a game is easier than another. Like, your fighting each other. The difficulty is only that of the person you are playing. Of course melee players are better at melee, than brawl players are better than brawl. Brawl's been out 2 years melee's been our 8. The reason it's easier to get into competitive brawl is there is less to make up for missing. I bet in 6 more years brawl will be as "difficult" as melee is now.

EDIT: and sense there's no yoshi mains in chat someone should read this and tell me if I'm doing a decent job at arguing or if I'm just making myself look stupid ><

i know im just coming out randomly but i havent touched brawl ever since it came out and i beat somebody who ***** you his name is mikey or better yet you know him as espio so im pretty sure it doesnt require much skill
