Yesterday might be the weirdest day of my life. I woke up at 10AM, grabbed the computer, checked my subscriptions and stuff, when I heard the phone ring. The number was hidden. I picked it up, but the other person hung up instantly. One minute later, I got another call.

"Hey, it's Erik."
"Hi Erik.
"Who is this?"
"It's me."
"Hello you. What's your name?"
"I don't wanna tell."
"All right, this conversation might be difficult if I don't know who I'm talking too."
"I'm Sara. We're in the same English class."
"Oh, Sara."

(At this point, I couldn't remember what she looked like. I had never spoken to her before.)

"So, why are you calling me today, Sara?"
"I think you're really cute."

O.O

"Oh, that's very nice of you..."
"Yeah. I really like you. I think we should do something together sometime."
"Uh, sure."
"I'll talk to you about it tomorrow."
"Yeah."
"Bye."
"Bye."

I was stunned. A girl had asked me for a date. I have never been in a real relationship before, so I was literally shaking. It wasn't really happiness, it was some sort of confusion.

The hours passed by, and I was supposed to study math, but I kept thinking about the date. Was she serious? How will this turn out? Do I think she's attractive?

In the evening, while Skyping with Sly Fox, my mother told me to come to my sister's bedroom. There was an odd smell of burned... something. My father climbed onto the roof, checked the chimney and yelled "CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT!". I ran up to Skype, told Sly Fox "House is on fire, gotta go." and grabbed the computer and my iPod. A few minutes later, three fire trucks, an ambulance and three other service vehicles had surrounded my house.

For 45 minutes, the family dashed in and out to empty the house. The firemen found the source, it was a cable that had caught fire inside the walls of the attic. We evacuated to our neighbours' house and stayed there during the night. Since the floors in our home are soaked and the whole house smells like smoke, we'll probably have to stay here for a while. Fair enough.

The roof is on fire^

Wow!!

I hope the repairs aren't too bad, and it's good that at least your whole house didn't burn down.

Oh and congrats on the date!! Just be secure in your masculinity and you've probably got something going on there. That's funny (and kind of intimidating) to have her ask you out though. She seems pretty straightforward :p

I'm calling it now: this is but the start of an epic adventure full of drama, action, romance and important family lessons. Possibly ending in you becoming a fireman.

We don't need no water let the mf burn! j/k

On point: Good to see that the ladies are digging you. Whatever you do, don't take such a talent for granted. So, play you're cards right, and let us know how that first date goes.

Here's hoping your house's damage isn't to bad. ;)

A girl randomly asked you out! That's good, :D

Your house was on fire. That's bad. D:

SO...we conclude that your day went half bad? half good?

But seriously, be confident in yourself, Frown. You got this.

Congratz on the date (although that was one of the weirdest ways I have ever seen anyone ask someone on a date)

Too bad about the house though, hopefully the damages werent too bad, at least no one was hurt which is a good thing too.

GL on that date of yours! (Your one lucky fellow to not have to go through the trouble of asking someone out, lol thats pretty rare too that a girl asks a guy out, so consider yourself more lucky than unlucky)

I'm sure you and the girl will get on together like a house on fire.

But seriously, glad you're OK.

Glad to hear you and everyone in your family is alright.

Although I am very curious about Sly Fox's reaction to that sudden "brb, house on fire" message.

Woah, sounds like an adventure of sorts in the making!

But seriously, sorry to hear about your house. I want to know about the guy's reaction on skype. And as for the date... um... wow, that's kind of random.

as for the date

dont worry about it

wether she was serious or not

take it as a wake up call

"dates" are what your gonna go through, so use this one wisely

dont get nervous talk to a girl

just act how you always act, be nice if thats how you act and youll be fine

people always say that doesnt work, but if you act like who you are

they will either like you or not, and that helps eliminate alot of people in life

thats what seperates people that will help you, from people that will stop you from progressing

have fun man, sorry about the house

how old are you anyway? if you dont mine me asking

Update: The call thing was a prank. And my house stinks and probably will continue to stink for a while.

I am so f***ing sad right now.
Srsly tho? MAN, that sucks. Grrr I'm like, pissed now lol Seriously, I'm mad FOR you, I can't imagine how you feel, well sad, but I'd be so mad. Didn't "sara" say she'd hash the details out w/you the following day? Did she? Or was that part of the prank? Or she did and what you worked out was part of the prank? Eh, this is why I was feared in HS. Someone doing this to me would get knifed.

This is why HS was stupid. Everything was sorted out with shanks.

What idiots.

Also Frown, forget about that stupid **** with the girl, just remember that at least you're alive, which is more than can be said about others who've had house fres.

Well don't tell me you didn't see it coming.
I hope you're more sad about your house, because that would upset me mostly.

ha, well it was effective during my hs years cause no one else did really, only very few of us actually carried weapons and fewer still were able to use them properly.

Well, that sucks. But, hey, you can now say that you survived a fire.

This is why HS was stupid. Everything was sorted out with shanks.
But...shanks solve problems outside of HS too.

If you don't mind going to prison or getting shot by the cops. :(

fewer still were able to use them properly.
Pointy end goes into the other person...? I think...?

The thing that happened was, I talked to Sara and it turned out it wasn't her. Somebody else had made the call. That's why the phone number was hidden.

I'm feeling so bad right now.

1. I thought I had a date but I don't.
2. I actually developed a crush on Sara the past few days.
3. I probably sounded like a dumb **** when I got the phone call.
4. Sara probably feels even worse.

No, but seriously, glad to know that you and your family are okay.
And that prank call...what a **** move. Try finding a way to work this to your advantage, Frown.

Figured it was a prank. I never believed ANYTHING I heard in High school unless it was from 5 or 6 certain people. Good Tip: NEVER PICK UP A HIDDEN NUMBER. Its usually telemarketers or a prank call. I've told everyone I know I never pick up restricted/anonymous numbers, yet they still try to call me. Last time it happened I opened my phone, and put it in the console of my car while I was driving. I hope they enjoyed talking to air ^_^.

In terms of the fire, something similar happened to me last year on independence day. I'm in my room, on a smash chat on my computer, and I notice my neighbor's roof was starting to catch fire. I was the first one to notice, considering my window is directly facing her roof.

Who was phone?

But seriously, why do you answer your phone and instantly reveal your name? Especially to a hidden call.
Or is it some tradition in your "mysterious" location.

Also, "Polis". I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE.
