Yesterday might be the weirdest day of my life. I woke up at 10AM, grabbed the computer, checked my subscriptions and stuff, when I heard the phone ring. The number was hidden. I picked it up, but the other person hung up instantly. One minute later, I got another call.
"Hey, it's Erik."
"Hi Erik.
"Who is this?"
"It's me."
"Hello you. What's your name?"
"I don't wanna tell."
"All right, this conversation might be difficult if I don't know who I'm talking too."
"I'm Sara. We're in the same English class."
"Oh, Sara."
(At this point, I couldn't remember what she looked like. I had never spoken to her before.)
"So, why are you calling me today, Sara?"
"I think you're really cute."
O.O
"Oh, that's very nice of you..."
"Yeah. I really like you. I think we should do something together sometime."
"Uh, sure."
"I'll talk to you about it tomorrow."
"Yeah."
"Bye."
"Bye."
I was stunned. A girl had asked me for a date. I have never been in a real relationship before, so I was literally shaking. It wasn't really happiness, it was some sort of confusion.
The hours passed by, and I was supposed to study math, but I kept thinking about the date. Was she serious? How will this turn out? Do I think she's attractive?
In the evening, while Skyping with Sly Fox, my mother told me to come to my sister's bedroom. There was an odd smell of burned... something. My father climbed onto the roof, checked the chimney and yelled "CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT!". I ran up to Skype, told Sly Fox "House is on fire, gotta go." and grabbed the computer and my iPod. A few minutes later, three fire trucks, an ambulance and three other service vehicles had surrounded my house.
For 45 minutes, the family dashed in and out to empty the house. The firemen found the source, it was a cable that had caught fire inside the walls of the attic. We evacuated to our neighbours' house and stayed there during the night. Since the floors in our home are soaked and the whole house smells like smoke, we'll probably have to stay here for a while. Fair enough.
The roof is on fire^
