honestly this thread is going nowhere. Whiners will change when they want to change. Just because you tell them to stop being negative, no matter how elegantly worded or reasoned it is, they still have free will to refuse that plea. Its just like the expression, you can lead a horse to water, but can't get him to drink. No one wants to be told what they can or cannot do. This thread preaches be positive. There are two things someone could do with that message: accept it or reject it. Positive people will accept it, for obvious reasons. But what of the Negative ones? Well I point to this entire thread as an example. Everyone should just let the topic die. So everyone keeps their sanity.

I bet $20 no one will listen to me, and continue posting. The same way the pessimists don't listen to the optimists and vice-versa.

Hey, I've been reading this forum for quite some time, and I find it very annoying to see alot of posts with people complaining.

There's nothing stopping you from whinning, just at least be considerate of people who try to see the bright side of things

Life is alot more fun when you can enjoy it. It's hard when others are so negative though. Same thing for dojo updates :p. Just my 2 cents.

I enjoy most updates, but it's hard when everyone's such a baby :(

PS: Hi I'm new to the forum. Big smash fan since 64.

While the things they are adding to make the game better are great and important, seriously, just release the game already.

The updates are basically summing up: WE ARE GIVING YOU THE OLD OPTIONS FROM THE OTHER GAMES EXCEPT BETTER.

AND WE ARE ADDING OVER 9000 (lol) ASSIST TROPHIES.

Seriously, why assist trophies?

And your source is? I thought it made the chances of at least getting Sora were pretty good. That's better than nothing.
Well, the fact of him being in Chain Of Memories increases the chances of him being in the game.

...But is he really Nintendo?

I vote yes and no.

Yes: He's freaking awesome.
No: Not really Nintendo. Unless I'm COMPLETELY missing something here.

I do.

It's actually just a joke my friend and I made.

Seriously, in the end, I bet there will be more assist trophies than characters.

...not really, but it's always possible.

More assist trophies = more chaos and fun.

Btw, the new kingdom hearts being made is for the Wii was it not? Sora has good changes, but he already looks so similar to Pit... sorta. He'd be alright tho. Actually I think I'd prefer him over megaman (:psycho: blasphemy?)

THIS IS MADNESS.

NO.

THIS IS SPARTA.

No, not that again.

I say it WOULD be cool to see Sora in Brawl, but I think Megaman has higher chances.

I'd DEFINATELY prefer Sora over Megaman, but hey. It probably won't happen. :(

I would also like people to stop complaining about the imminent inclusion of krystal in Brawl, just because she's not liked by this particular community... It's weird how people either really like her or really hate her. I think she'd be a fine fighter.
I actually don't like the ice climbers but I'll still make myself accept it since that's how things are. either accept it or make yourself feel bad for nothing.

You heard me, krystal will be in brawl... how do you like Them apples!

btw how can olimar be in smash? isnt he and pikmin the size of like 2 mm?

I personally don't like Krystal, but I also think she would be a GREAT Super Smash character.

I don't like Sonic in Brawl, either. But I still think he will be a decent fighter.

And about the Pikmin thing: Assist trophy, probably.

It appears to me, that some people like to post simply for the sake of posting. It's illogical to expect people to everyday have something to voice an opinion about. If everyone always was speaking their own opinion about something... where does that leave room for actually responding to topics of discussion that other people have generated.

Let's face it. In general, a lot of younger forum users really enjoy watching their post count go up. Personally, I would be mad at myself if my daily post count went over 5 because I find it very hard to believe that someone can have that many important things to speak their mind about. Plus, being a college student and all... I shouldn't be spending all day on these forums. How many posts do the mods have per day on average? Why don't you check. I think you'll be surprised to see that some of them have as few as under 1.

Nobody listens to the person that always is talking. When the quiet ones speak up... that when everyone stops and actually takes in what they're saying. That's the difference.

Who threads/posts get read the most? The moderators of course. Why? Well... how often do you see them post?

I really hope tomorrow's update can leave me with a smile over the weekend. I think we're about due for a good one.

EDIT:

Oh, darkness, I completely agree with you except you have to understand these forums are filled with young teenagers who like to goof off and have fun. This isn't only a place to share opinions and debate. Its also a place to have a little fun, ya know chief?

I really haven't seen a decent update (in my opinion) since the Dedede.

Like you said, we really are due for one.

Yes I agree. Some people feel their post count makes them better, or more elite. Others just post messages whenever a new thread comes up just for the heck of it. Most of posts came from either debates or just talking to someone in Pool Room.

They think "Ohhh he has 5,000 posts he knows what he is talking about". I only spend about 30 minutes or 1 hour on smash boards a day, which equals 10 posts a day. Pretty low considering I usually just read and browse, post my 2 cents, reply, etc.

Look, if you want me to stop posting, just say STOP POSTING CRAP. Because I will.

I don't care about how many posts I make. If I did, I could easily have 100 right now. It doesn't matter to me. I just reply a lot. I don't care about my post count.

I just plain want to read peoples' opinion without having to see people luring me into their negativity about brawl.

Wait. So this thread isn't about negative opinions about Brawl, it's whining? What constitutes as whining? Saying "Dang these updates suck!" right? So the point of this thread is "If you're going to talk bad about Brawl, be nice!" ? So instead of just saying how I hated todays update, I should go:

"Brawlers, in my and mine alone, small, baseless, irrelevant, unimportant-when-compared-to-yours opinion, todays update was well, not as good as I hoped for. Not so much that but it was not good. Well bad depending on how you look at it. Please don't flame me! I'll cut off my testicles in exchange for having such a bad opinion and will deplete my life savings on buying you guys copies of Brawl and paying Sakurai to stomp on my head."

Really, I'm not sugarcoating anything. If the updates suck, they suck. So I should be grateful with crappy updates? Nah. I could live with them, I could live without them. Screw it. This update week was boring. That's all I need to say.

While I agree with what You've said in your rant, I find the replies more interesting.

I've seen about 726462 of these "STFU you ****ers" threads in my short time on SWF, and I've noticed that if the one ranting is a mod or a BRoomer or whatever, everyone goes "Claps! This was epic, and so very true! All you guys should stfu and read tis!".

But if someone else does it, they get pwnd by everyone for "Being such a n00b!"

I just find it interesting.
Oh, and about your rant, it was epic, and so very true! All you guys should stfu and read tis!" ;):p:laugh:

Whining about whiners = whining?

Then people who are whining about whiners = whining,

and people who are whining about... etc etc.

ZOMG!

But still, I don't believe for one second now that Brawl will be crap. Seriously. The main points were EforAll, the confirmation of Wi-Fi, Sonic and Snake, Subspace Emissary, and now Spectator mode. It looks hax, btw.

We should all be happy and grateful we are getting updates. BRawl is like the only game to give weekdaybyweekday updates. MOst other games you have to wait until E3 or TGS or some other major game event to hear new information about the game. Sakurai goes out of his way to inform us about new information about the game.

Even the "crummy" updates are just pieces of the puzzle that is Brawl, and I'm fine with them putting it together one piece at a time.

Update today wasn't that bad I guess. Spectator mode means we can watch matches to confirm wins. However, the updates in general have left this board with little to talk about. A bad update for this board seems to be one that people can't come on and talk about in long threads about. Sonic and Create a Stage where probably the best updates by far last month maybe overall. Subspace Emissary was also an excellent update (and every major proceeding updates about it).

Basically no matter what, kids will whine.

If there were no updates, whine. Too many updates/too much revealed, whine. Supposedly not enough updates, whine. If Sakurai and Miyamoto personally delivered SSBB to every person who wanted the game, some people would probably still find something to whine about.

I rather there was no updates. Then we wouldn't have thread like this or threads wherel people complain. But just because someone doesn't like something about the game doesn't makes them a whiner.

I honestly wish we didn't have the final smash updates. They are not speculative to whether they exist or not (we know they exist unlike character debates for example) we could just speculate to what the final smash is. It would be cool to learn everyone's final smash by playing, kind of like finishing moves for MK. I wish Sakurai would have not reveal final smash and let us find them out on our own by playing them. (Now announcing that final smashes exist was a good thing, I am just talking about not announcing character specific final smashes).

Let me give you examples of how not to be an annoying baby.

Annoying:
"This update sucks!"
"Lame-ton"
"Total disappointment"
"Worthless, we already knew"
"So lame.."
"Crappy update"
"(Input rant about how he should have put something better)"

Not Annoying:
"I didn't like this update"
"I was expecting something better"
"..."
"Nothing overly interesting"
"Ok"
"Maybe next time"
"(Normal discussion without whining)"

The problem with you guys is that your standards and expectations are too high. Expect nothing, that way you'll be fine with whatever comes your way.
Makes sense?:dizzy:
