Malk the singles tourney was today man. If yall do make it, I believe there will only be doubles happen. I think it was worth the trip for me, but yall might not think so. There were actually some pretty dang good players there. But I doubt yall can get a ride because if people were going they are probably already there. Idk though just trying to help yo' *** out son !

Thanks again for those matches PacStrife, even the goof around ones such as the Bowser ditto.

I knew some people thought it was on saturday even though the date was clearly posted... friday is just a weird tournament day man. Maybe singles could be done again tomorrow if others come?

Well I'm not the one running it, so I can't say... but if brackets for singles were done instead of round robin both singles and teams could probably be done. (Even though I love me some round robins; no matter how badly I farkle up I get to play everyone! Yay!)

Teams play will probably go rather quick, although i don't think everyone has enough money for another singles ._. For sure we will do friendly singles though if a full blown tourney doesnt work out.

people, i personally wanna apologize for me sucking major (BAWLS) <-- lol yesterday. ugh. i never played that bad in my life. well i did when i first started out but man. oh well. if we do come back tomorrow (today) do we have to pay again? can i ask. why did some of the games lag. there was like 2 tv's (or gamecubes) that was perfect and 1 that was acceptional and then the other 3 was like in slow mo. im not used to playing with that kinda lag. so tomorrow (today), if i do come, i'll make sure to bring my gamecube.

Usually lag is caused by the tv, not the cube. I'd be pointless to bring your cube unless there's a good tv to hook it up to.

I wanna smash. I'm boerd a hell. If no one smashes with me, I'll just go play DDR.

how is lag caused by the tv. i could understand if the tv was connected to the internet. but still they should just have some regular tv's or reset the graphics on the tv to reduce lag (if that was the problem) b/c that was horrible. it was like i was playing in special melee slow mo mode or something.

ya, i made a post on this in the marth forums..i don't particularly care because i know lag affects both players..and i'm confident that the people who beat me could probably do it again without the lag and because they were hurt as well.

but my fox matches..i hope no one there thinks my fox sucks quite taht much..i can normally dair to waveshine to upsmash without problem...the lag was just killing me.

because of this i rarely used fox as a counterpick like i normally would..and even falco i was nervous to try..instead i went heavy marth and sheik at the tourney since they aren't tech heavy. Anyways, lesson learned...if it's tv caused..then from now on i bring a tv to tourneys
so at least my matches occur without lag..

that said..i had a lot of fun regardless..i tried to make sure most of my matches were on good tvs..but honestly there were a few matches on bad tvs that were as hard for me as playing vs pacstrife on a good one..and that shouldn't happen

i particularly remember a falco matchup in which i couldn't get my normal pillaring approach to work..so i was playing with dashdance to grabs and random bairs and stuff...really weird..totally not a normal falco playstyle..would've looked very n00bish.

One thing i wonder..is if the lag bothered pacstrife any? i think i saw him play at least one match on a laggy tv? i don't know if someone at his lvl has trouble with lag though..not that it matters..he could probably beat me with his eyes closed

well I would say lag still definitly affects me. I can tell the difference right away though and try to adjust as much as possible. I only played a few matches on those bad TV's though. I tryed to stay away from them. The only matches I really think the lag affcted me was when I was playing against Salt, but lucky for me he played tech heavy spacies so it affected him a bit more i think. Most tourneys laggy TV's arent an issue though trust me.

Also I forgot to say this too much at the tourney, but everyone should come out to Mourning pirates jubilee in Raleigh. It' gonna be huge and I garuntee that it is impossible to go there and not learn something. scouts honor!

Thanks for posting the link vZakat. This is THE NC tourney guys. If your going to go to one all summer this is the one to make. It is by far the most fun and the most skilled people and the same time. Although I don't know what the pancake situation is right now...

yes pac. you seriously kicked my butt. i think you read my other post. i haven't checked that one yet. but that ganon player you played against, im not that far (skill wise) from him. i just could not adjust to those tv's at all. he was mad at me and i was mad @ my self b/c i knew that i shouldn't have lost as many matches as i did, but it happens to the best of us tho. but it was still pretty fun to play different people instead of my boys from college.

me why me. my falco is on vacation right now. he is exhausted from fighting against pacs capt. falcon/matt-ganondorf/blde-fox/jared-marth/& kelvins -samus...

so fox is on deck right now along with dr. mario (just started playing with him like 2 weeks ago) and i think pikachu made a cameo and actually won. i haven't pulled him out since i started playing smash 2 years ago. but yeah. i'll give you your ditto whenever we meet. (if that ever happens)

it looks like gibsonville is about 2hours away from tarboro. I'm really close to rocky mount, but seeing as you would have to drive through raleigh I suggest yall just try to get in contact with some people there. (aka - Malk, Knorr, vZakat, and many others) Also there are some people in Durham that play too. just hit me up on AIM (s/n - PacStrife) and I can tell you who is good around where you are and maybe set up a date we could play mangz.

the 2nd place ganondorf player is my best friend matt. i dont kow who the 3rd place dude was but yeah. matt only lost to pac which wasn't a surprise 2 me as much as it was to him. i wanna rematch against all. even if i beat you... i wanna know who was that guy that both me and matt 4 stocked... i was having a bad day and im sure he was too i forgot who he played with. i think it was link. i plinked (shined) him so many times. he was a young guy tho. poor child
