Smash? In Greensboro? Sounds good to me!

A friend and I, maybe two, should be able to make it (we all live in the Triad). No guarantees as to how formidable we'll be, never been to any tournaments before, but we do love to smash. I saw in another thread that there's talk of some friendlies... I'm up for it.. let me know what times/places work.

As the thing IS 2 days i assume that boarding may be an issue, my apartment is not so ideal to store people but i'll ask my circle of friends if somebody really needs a house arranged so if yo do leave a message here

with the turnout im receiving form these forums alone i am making stone the reservations from 2 days, team tournaments are pending do to physical limitations at the venue for singles.

wavebirds are usually okay at tournaments.. just realize that your channel can be stolen at anytime... and you cant use that as a john

and this tourny is the same day as pound 2.. so i dont think the turnout is going to be as good as you guys might think it is

though i will be there.. hopefully with 4 other people.. and i'll try to get as many people as i can to go to this

Hey, more questions from me. Sorry if these bother you, heh.

How early are we allowed to get there? I like to play as many friendlies as I possibly can.

Do you know if the brackets will be organized by crew/location and such so that we are guaranteed to not have to fight people that we play against all the time in the first round? Beating/getting beat by your best friend early in the tournament is the suck.

Not tournament related, but is smash played at this venue on a regular basis? I really need more people to play against, and this place is relatively close.

You can get there probably around 10 am even and play friendlies, i plan to be there early to make sure things go smoothly. The bracket doesn't have any specific restrictions now but if an agreement can be made mutually im sure it can be worked out. There are some locals coming to play i would ask them personally, because i usually don't play there, but rather at my house which is like 10 minutes away with my friends. They charge a wee bit too much for their facilities, the entry fee pays for about only 2 hours of regular playing time so it's really a good deal ^^;

I'm trying to convince my parents to let me go to FC. If I don't go to that I'll be at this.

Edit: I just noticed that FC is in july. it's the rockymount tourney i'll miss not this.

(if i dont have a doctors appointment that day) im gonna get my butt kicked... but it's gonna be worth it... oh man... im glad i have FINALLY found a tourney in greensboro... the last time i tried to go to a tourney (rutherford)... i got lost... so i had to make a trip home... and wasted gas $$... i got to let my crew know about this... b/c if there are team battles... i will be without a partner... hmph...

Since there certainly seems to be support for doubles i will add it to the agenda. Admittedly i'm not familiar with the rules but mlg rule set tells all ^^; So bring your partners if youg ot em or grabs someone you play in singles if you like it doesn't matter. The time frame for this will be under consideration though, the whole second day for doubles, i dunno, maybe just friendlies to fill up the rest of the time ^^

I just called the place and they are going to have it. The person on the phone said to get there around 12pm as opposed to 2pm, for what it's worth. I just found out I have to be somewhere friday evening (5pm-ish)... how long is the first day planned to last?

P.S. Some people wonder why i have the venue for 2 days, it's just because we can probably get in a whole other singles tourney if people want or just lots of friendlies since it's lonely over here honestly

To Sec: I don't rightly know how long it'll take sorry, i wouldn't put money on it being over by 4 so you can move it at 5. Take the people who said who are coming on this forum, a few other stragglers, then the native Greensboro-ites and use your judgment to see how long it'll take ^^;

well how about u partner with kelvin...since it will be us 4 me you matt n kelvin...and curious if this tournament will be tier based or if all tiers are to fight together would prefer to fight any and all characters not just a bunch of captain falcons peaches n shieks im a falcon user myself...
