4v4: Is it too much to ask?

Too often i have found myself with three friends and we want to beat the crap out of some PCs, but alas, we cannot all do it at the same time on the same game. Would having an option to have 3v3 or 4v4 matches vs computers or on multi-man melee be too much to ask?

i honestly think that would be awesome. but 8 players would make it pretty congested. imagine doin it wit friendly fire.

Oh yeah, 8 characters would begin to get hectic. Nice idea though. They said that they'll do a 2 player SE thing, but once your party gains 4 or more characters, I think it'd be cool if4 players could play cooperatively. We'll see though/

If you have three friends why would you want to play against computers? Computer are for when you don't have any friends, and online play fixes that.

Yes.

I don't think 2 dimensions is enough to have 8 people beating the crap out of each other. It would just turn into a brightly colored cluster****.

I always thought 8 player would be awesome and with 4 Wii ports and 4 GC ports, it's possible on one console. I doubt it'll happen, but it would still be awesome.

Anyone who doesn't like it can simply not play with 8 players. It's not like the feature is hurting you if you don't want it.

...And then after brawl comes out and they announce the next game ther'll be threads about "There should be 8v8!!!"

How about only invite one friend over at a time, and at parties, forget about CPUs.

Guys, uh... 4vs4 is physically impossible for the Wii to accomplish. The best the Wii can do is 4 Wii remotes and 1 GC controller (or just 4 GC controllers). That's 5 players max. Check Wikipedia under tech specs.

You could technically have 4 or 5 players fighting potentially infinite CPUs, but that's not what 4vs4 is :p

Could the Wii be updated to allow for 4 Wii remotes and 4 GC controllers simultaneously? I doubt a firmware update could accomplish that. You'd probably be looking at a hardware update, like with the Wii model that plays DVD movies. In other words, NOT IN TIME FOR BRAWL, so why would it even matter, lol?

3v3 would be okay IMO (not on small stages), but 4v4 would just get lame. Smash bros. should be about having a bunch of fun with people you like. Online is a great in that they're better than CPU's, but 8 players would just be like halo...

I think it would be cool and possible to have 6 player matches. Melee was capable of having 6 player matches if you used an AR, but a Gamecube only has four slots. In Brawl, you could have 4 GC controllers and 2 Wii Remotes, or any combination of the two. Why 6? Because 8 would be too many, and people seem to like having an even number of players.

I like playing with friends against computers cause we're all on a team together and nobody loses.

In most stages, 4 v 4 would turn into a button mashing frezy because of the lack of room you'd be able to move efficentively

i dont know how the game would run with 8 different characters. but i have to admit, having 8 people on screen would be pretty hectic and as a result pretty fun. especially the random with the random factor of items, it would be pretty fun to see wat kind of ish can go down...peace

4v4 is not too much to ask, but it's too much in general. 3v3 is tops, and even then they'd need to think of a way to reduce the lag.

I think it would be awesome to have 8 if last 4 were computers. 8 People is too much, but I would love to see 4 players plus the addition of extra computers.
