I might not be able to make it if the date stays, because I might have to do something family-related for Thanksgiving...

Please ignore those standings. Cecil posted them in the wrong thread. We will update with the correct seedings after the 11/10 tournament!

is there a reason to have 2 tournaments in november? Before when brawl was coming out I could understand but these have always been monthly and well...

CFL should come to my tournament instead.

everyone in SFL that actually smashes often has been to at least 4 or 5 gigabits so I think its time to return the favor =)

I could always cancel one, but with input I have gotten in the past from people (hold more smash, do it more then once a month) I figured you guys would want it anyways.

It is a very interesting situation. Central FL is always where the tourneys are held. People drive 2, 3, 4+ hours to come from all over the state to our tourneys. I find it a bit unfair that we never really make much effort to go to one of their tourneys when they hold them down in SFL. They come to our tourneys all the time, but we almost never go to theirs.

Xif is hosting a tourney on November 24th that has potential to be really, really awesome. But knowing CFL, 90% of them will go to Gigabits instead merely for convenience purposes. Some may say that having this Gigabits will not force anyone to not go to Xif's tourney, but that is not the case, unfortunately. People who are trying to decide between the two would have major reason to gould drive anywhere from 20 min to an hour for a tourney instead of 3 ish.

In any normal circumstance, having multiple gigabits tourneys in a single month is awesome. However this time, it is probably best to host only the earlier gigabits of this month.

There are people who would never, ever plan on going on a 3 hour drive for a tourney. For them, canceling gigabits would be the worst case scenario. However, for the people who are deciding between the two, canceling this gigabits would help Xif's attendance, which I think that tourney deserves to be given a shot.

No matter what happens in this situation, somebody is going to lose. :(

i'm just saying you know just for my tournament its not like i'm gonna get a chance to do this often i'm only gonna be down there for that weekend.

For those that wouldnt drive to my tournament period and wouldnt have this tournament... its not like CFL doesnt have a million and 2 tournaments every week so really they can obviously wait. If they cant drive that distance then obviously waiting for smash is an option. =)

I have my tournament posted up well in advance and I think this can give enough time for gigabits to come to a conclusion. I would think cancelling this one would be probably the least hurtful since alot of the local people from UCF that put other things before smash will be off visiting other places, or busy with family. Those that would be sticking around for gigs will probably be willing to make the drive to my tournament.
