Ok to start this "awsome thread" up I think I have a theory why tingle is in WW, he also is one of the ppl who found the portal to hyrule. How you might ask? Well possably could have followed link back without him knowing. But there are 2 things I just dont get about this little "guy", who the heck stared a family with him!?! considering WW is much to far in the future for him to stay alive. also how did he get to the other side of the timeline? The only thing i can think of isd that he has actually got fairy [powers of maybe he stumbled upon a greatfairy fountain and told her he was a fairy so she gave him a power or 2

Characters reappear in the series. Look at the many OoT/MM characters in the Oracle games and The Minish Cap. Even though Tingle was not in OoT, that doesn't mean he doesn't have a place in that world.

Tingle is the greatest creation known to mankind. He is a fairy-loving, slave-owning, money-grubbing maniac that might actually have magic powers. And yet, you have no idea what to think of him. Is he funny, or just plain creepy?

Tingle is an honorary member of the Council of Zelda.
No more, no less. He can insert himself as a reincarnation into whichever Legen of Zelda video games he likes, which includes Majoras Mask, WW, and Twilight Princess...
and let's not forget Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupee Land!

And who knows? Link's father in OoT disappeared, and if Majora's Mask truly does branch off of it as predicted...
He wears green, and so does Link...
Does this mean that possibly... no, it can't be.
LINK IS TINGLE'S SON!?

I think that huge guy in the swamp says that he enjoys wearing green clothing and such. Tingle is merely wearing it because he wants to BE a Kokiri. Link wears green because he's from the Lost Woods and grew up wearing green tunics.

Nah, the greatest creation know to mankind is Chuck Norris's fist. :chuckle:

He's sort of funny, and VERY creepy. That just about sums it up.

I hate everything about this and wish it could be unseen.

I also hate Tingle too. Hopefully his recent absence from actual Zelda games means he's been quarantined into his own spin-off series for good. I know the STAR game guy was a reference to Tingle, but he wasn't Tingle himself, so it's a-okay. It's lucky for Tingle that the games he was in were actually really good, because he could have ruined a lesser game for me. As it is, he's a nuisance that makes me want to go without maps rather than talk to him.

I like to view him as the Wario of Zelda (both have discolored, large noses, both dress like the hero, both are greedy as hell, both are older men in too-tight suits, etc, etc).

That makes me like him a bit more. Besides, Zelda's only comedy is Link breaking pots and what not. Tingle is the, "oh no, don't tell me... god****it, he's in this game too.." kind of character that pushes you to enjoy the other aspects of the game more because of how much you hate him.

Haha, I hate Wario almost as much as I do Tingle, so I'll second that idea. Though I would disagree with saying that the only comedy in Zelda is Tingle and Link's vandalism. But he does fill the role of comic relief more than any other specific character, so I see where it's coming from. He's probably the biggest source of humor that spans more than one game.

Oh there's definitely more humor, but they're the most consistent.

I don't know what's more frightening between Tingle's usual design and the fact that he apparently used to look (somewhat) ordinary.

But whats wierd is he DOESN`T look ordinary, considering hyrule`s fashion type. He actually looks more like a japanese nintendo programmer.

Spire, way to make a milestone thread. I need to keep this in mind for the PokeCenter now.

Phantom7's description pretty much hit the spot.

Well guys, what about this?

What a resembelance eh? Any good theorys? Heres one ( may not be good), He i s the only one or thing in hyrule that has a watch/ clock! Could he have come from the portal in termina to get to hyrule? It seems that the tingle family goes through it alot. So it might be past down in the family from genaration to genaration to new tingles that there is a secret portal that lies deep in the woods!............ now go find rupees!!!!!

Kind of like how the Killer Bees were an obvious reference to the Bombers.
Ya I noticed that aswell.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just noticed something that made me **** brix!!!

Ok look at each of the tingles watches

Purlo `s clock points to 3:00...... he is in hyrule right? What also has 3 in hyrule? the godesses!

No look at MM tingle terminia his clock points to 4:00..... 4 giants! Although I dont see it solving anything, it is a cool aspect they probably put in for lulz

I swear Tingle is like some KKK equavilant. I mean look at that pointed hat. That can't be good. He also asks for you Rupee's but he never tells what he does with them. If any thing, I'm sure he's the main sponser for Ganondorf's coquest. Tingle is a warmerchant. He lives off of war. That's why he's there in every time of distress.

Tingle you son of a......moblin.

A zelda KKK equivalent? Sir, you are forgetting one of the most blatant shout-outs to the KKK ever. Lest we forget the Zelda 2's Wizzrobe:

That thing is ****ing creepy. And why do they put the Christian cross on the KKK robe? Could you imagine how many people would be offended by this if it was commonly viewed by the general public?

And how the heck does it breathe?

The Latin cross was just a really popular form of death back in Ancient Rome. They most likely put the Latin Cross on it due to the KKK's tendency's to burn crosses like mad.

But let's get back on the topic that Tingle is a War merchant, and he profit's highly during war.

It was a joke, I know they didn't do that intentionally. Of course, the Wizzrobe has nothing to do with the KKK; it's just coincidence that they looks similar.

Does nobody care about my theory?:(:(:( (lol jk)
One problem: I don't know what it was. Use the "link" button at the top of your "reply to thread" box to insert a link.

EDIT: Okay I see it now. That may not be coincidence, but I don't know... I wonder if it's also coincidence that Clock Town has four entrances, and Castle Town (TP) has 3?

And the gods and giants. Also because I am sticking to my theory of hyrule being terminas past (because I dont see any flaws in that what so ever), Maybe just like what some religions in our world say, The world has 4, 6,8(depending on there belives) segments until its apocalypse. Tingles clock may resemble the segments of hyrule/terminas life segments until the apocalypse. Considering throughout the games it is always pointing to the same spot. Depending on witch world they are in.(if that makes any sence:laugh:).

I am now begining to think that the reason for the clock towers clock having the deigns it has is very likely to resemble the apocalypse calender/ the segmants of life on earth for the human race. such as this:

I belive this is the apocalypse calender, I saw a show on the history channel what these ppl belived and aparently there are 4 segmants of life. Now is it not possible the zelda team based terminas clock to have a very deep meaning such as this? It is wierd because lots of the ppl of termina want to leave and escape. Almost like THEY are the ones that know the TRUE meaning of the clock!
