Physical media has always been the norm, but record players and VHS tapes used to always be the norm too. The norm changes every so often. The good thing about digital games is that they save materials (the material that would be uses to make physical Switch 2 cartridges can instead be used for other things) and you don't have to keep getting off the couch to swap out digital games since they're already on the console.

Shulk should be based on Future Redeemed in Smash 6 and the Mii Fighters could get custom moves that are functionally the same as his old moves. R.I.P. classic Shulk, but the essence of him can still come back.

Random idea: Mario could be in DK Bananza and something could cause him to become extremely muscular like the Incredible Hulk when something makes him angry, and DK has to cure him, but the only way to cure him is to knock him out. We've never had a boss fight against Mario before.

In Smash 6, any electricity based attack should instantly temporarily disable Min Min's arms like in her original game and if her arms take enough damage in general, they'll be temporarily disabled. But electricity will disable them right away.

In World of Light, the characters you rescue and some non fightable puppet fighters should have appeared all over each of the maps and they would fight each other. This way it would feel like the whole roster is an army working together Avenger's Endgame style to fight Galeem and Dharkon's armies, but instead it just feels like one character is doing all the work while the other 88 characters are standing around doing nothing.

In the long run, cultural zeitgeist is just as important as success. ARMS may have outsold Xenoblade 2, but the cultural zeitgeist for Xenoblade 2 is at least a hundred thousand times stronger than the cultural zeitgeist for ARMS.

C/D: Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft and all other AAA gaming conglomerates no longer care about art as much as they used to. They care more about money now, and they're only going to care more and more about money and less and less about art as the years go on. It really is up to indie companies to give us new masterpiece gaming IPs that will stand the test of time. Modern Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft games will still make a lot of money, but they won't gain as much cultural zeitgeist as new indie gaming IPs.

What if Smash 6 has playable assist trophies? Whenever you summon one, you'll instantly play as them while your other character becomes CPU controlled, and each playable assist trophy would have a very limited moveset, but at least they'll be playable in some form.

Min Min's extendable arm attack should have just been only her side special and you would use the B button to control both arms when using the side special. She didn't need 7 inputs to do one attack.

What kind of stupid logic is this? If you want to aim your game at young audiences, fine. But make sure older audiences feel just as welcome to play your game as the target audience is.

Banjo-Tooie is a mixed bag. On one hand, the minigames and challenges are good and the game in general is good whenever you go after Jiggies that don't take long to get, but often times it will take 20 minutes worth of back and forth steps just to get one Jiggy. It becomes a slog. Also the stakes feel extremely low. Sure the island is in danger of being drained of its life force, but Banjo and Kazooie never learn this and it's only brought up once in the whole game. It would be better if there were cutscenes of Grunty and her sisters scheming before you enter a new world and also a game over cutscene of them winning like in DK64.
