I always hated that gag in cartoons whenever they'd have a super cute creature but then some big scary creature comes in then the super cute creature just murders the big scary creature showing it's actually super dangerous because they'd always give the cute creature giant spiky teeth or whatever right before murdering the big scary creature and that always annoyed me because they'd never commit to having an actually purely cute creature being super dangerous. Moopsy from Star Trek comes close at least.

I want to write a sci-fi story where the antagonists are humans just to see the reactions. Not do to some like message about humanity being the real monsters or something, just a regular good space guys vs evil space empire guys where the evil space empire guys are humans. It won't even be from the human viewpoint just from the alien viewpoint. I want to see if people still side with the humans or try to come up with some justification for what they're doing on instinct. I think it'd be pretty interesting.

Had a dream there was a Youtube video where some teenager was talking about him being bullied and struggling with depression, with this being shown in a SMB3 All-Stars stylee video game where he was being shot at by people in ships, then he said he was going to do something about it, flipped a switch, then all the ships started shooting themselves, he announced he was starting a site called The Pilot Program where they'd list online bullies with the explicit goal of harassing them. Then I realized this was an ARG I heard about before, there were subplots about alternate universes, which I thought were a metaphor for escapism. I thought about how it's be cool if there was a captcha where it'd be ro see if you were from the universe you said you're from.

Fair use for non commercial usage sounds good in theory but it's pretty vague in practice with numerous grey areas like donations. Creative commons struggles with this for their non-commercial licenses. Plus, many piracy sites could be said to be non-commercial, while I do think piracy is necessary for preservation, I don't think it's really exactly fair use

I never got 'a long copyright length helps authors by forcing them to innovate'. Sure, you're able to use less things by other people, but if you write a successful story then you can just sit on your ass raking in the dough because nobody can do anything with it. Plus, if copyright length is shorter then it also incentivizes writing either unique sequels or new stories.
