Maybe they could only do so luck outside of bringing back every fighter? I can assume Jungle Hijinx wouldn’t have worked with Stage Morph, for instance.

Yeah, I'm willing to wager there's some technical issues that limited some of the stages in particular; Jungle Hijinxs and Pac-Maze come to mind. A case can also be made for redundancy, especially in Melee Mushroom Kingdom's case. It is kinda weird how some of the assists were cut, though.

They probably cut Pac-Maze for technical issues, I can't imagine any other reason (like, perhaps they thought there were too many 8 bit black voids? But that didn't stop the gr*ssy pl*ins soooo...), but in that case, it's just baffling they left the infinity mobius strip intact for PictoChat 2

i would like to retract my statement about melee mushroom kingdom - they coulda just given that all-stars' graphics to give it visual differences from 64 mushroom kingdom

The only stages that make me sad they were excluded from Ultimate are Pac-Maze and Rainbow Road.

Not having the Fan item is honestly an insult to Smash's history
