New Peach Tech I Found and Call "Frost Canceling"

Yeah, it's not a very widely known tech because it's really hard to do: you have to be positioned just right so you fall off the ledge after the turnip spawns but before you run out of momentum. It was known to be useful in a Break the Targets strat as early as 2004, but it's so hard it was more...

Which moves send opponents into knockdown (Melee)?

Up/down throws always tumble. Everything else is weight/percent dependent. Edit: except for glitched throws that put the character into a standing state, like Falco's dthrow on Fox.

    OEM control sticks/C-sticks?

http://www.gcsgamingcustoms.com/ Edit: Apparently he's out of stock ATM. Dang. My bad. Check back with him though, haha.

    OEM control sticks/C-sticks?

GCS in Charlotte sells them on his site. <= $5 IIRC.

Someone explain the technical reason for why Double Jump Cancelling exists.

For normal characters when you jump, the game applies a one-time vertical momentum boost. Melee DJC characters do not have that, instead they have a dj animation that has animated translation, effectively distributing that momentum in little tiny amounts across all the frames of the dj. When you...

    Gamecube Controller Model

I clicked on this thread having a certain expectation of what the title implied. I was not disappointed. This is a thread I am very interested in following, since I had this idea 2 years ago but didn't have the time to work on it.

Running Jabs, Tilts and Charged Smash Attacks w/ Inputs

This information is so old it boggles my mind that it's actually new to some people.

    North Carolina Player Finder

Not to be dismissive of your idea, but we're pretty much all on Facebook now. I don't think very many players have an interest in maintaining a Smashboards presence for real-world interactions :ohwell:. Join us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/northcarolina.melee/

Questions about Gamecube controller circuitry - wiring LED to button press

First, yes. You'll need a different LED. Second, this is a fairly difficult mod to do if you've never soldered before. Some basic info about attaching an LED to the rumble power supply that will be of some informative use to you...

Is Dash Dance to ledge any good?

You're talking about doing a pivot right at the very edge that causes you to fall off facing in, right? Yeah, basically the reason nobody does that because it's really hard.

    CRT wiring question

Every Nintendo system from NES to Gamecube use the same RF adapter. The NES connects directly to the adapter via an RCA jack, and the other systems all use the same AV connector that can also take an RF converter that has the RCA output on it. If you have one of those adapters and converters, it...

    Unknown grab tech?

So, Fox and Falco have a weird property on one of their getup rolls that causes them to slip off of any edge that they roll towards. I think what is happening here is you grabbed them on the frame (or I guess the frame after from the gfy) they slid off the stage. Normally this puts them into one...

    PPMD and M2K

I'll just say that he wants to go, but basically he won't go unless he feels like he is up to it. It's all a matter of how he perceives his mental health.

    Future of the Doubles Metagame?

Honestly, the best advice I can offer to anybody is to just...play more doubles. At smashfests, instead of doing 4-man rotations, play doubles. Rotate teams partners or rotate characters to keep things interesting, but most importantly get a feel for the huge number of scenarios that can occur...
