Smash 4: Air Speed Rankings and Values [NOW WITH RAW/REAL VALUES]

Okay, so horizontal aerial friction. I hope I picked the right set to call the playable ones then. Given how all his moveset damage is multiplied by 1.12, this is probably unfortunately the case.

    Smash 4 - Weight Rankings

The file is param/fighter/figter_param.bin. You'll need to have the decrypted ROM to get the folder structure unpacked. Don't ask me how, I don't remember which of the 25+ things I tried worked. Finding the files isn't the hard part at this point (for example, I'm pretty sure the Monado...

    Smash 4 - Weight Rankings

Well I sure haven't posted on SmashBoards in a while - and it so happens that this one happens to be a good news/bad news post. The good news: I have discovered and dissected the character attributes file (from SSB4-3DS-1.0.0). By assuming all the weights reported in this thread are correct...

Simple facts that you may not know...

Body size is 8 floats before walk speed; Link-NTSC is 1.24 while Fox-NTSC is 1.0, so that explains it. The (times shield health / 55) makes sense because max shield health is 55, so it's basically sized on a straight percentage based on shield power. There's a whole ton of numbers after...

Simple facts that you may not know...

Are you sure this isn't a straight radius? And you appear to be missing a few (mostly minor) things, such as what I believe is shield bounce velocity (the value right after shield size).

Moveset data thread (chart updated Dec 04 '12)

By "shield damage" I mean "bonus damage upon hitting a shield", so an 8% attack with 1 shield damage will do 9 damage to shields and 8 to everything else. I just took the data block where the movesets were located, did some copy-paste-search/replace, and filled in formulas. I guess the way I...

Moveset data thread (chart updated Dec 04 '12)

Any help with projectiles/items/etc would be useful. I'm not sure what you mean with shield damage having "0 for too many things". What attacks have shield damage that I have listed as 0? (It's all formula-controlled, automatically extracting the numbers from the code, so if indeed there is an...

Important Melee, Hacks, and You -- New Hackers Start Here, in the OP!

I've been pretty out of the loop here, so this might have been mentioned already, but I can finally dispel that dumb notion that the ability for a hitbox to clang is two bits in size (mentioned in this post as "Hitbox Interaction", P). It's actually a pair of bits with only the second one being...

Salute To The Flags: The Hitbox Flag Directory (upd. Jul 23 '13)

Well so it's been a while since I even logged in here, so heads up. Found the bit in Melee that controls whether moves rebound on clang. Compared it to the only remaining unknown bit here in Brawl, and hey, it looks almost identical. Too bad the mechanic appears to just not work. (Compare two...

Well there's the wiki and there's this.

Important Melee, Hacks, and You -- New Hackers Start Here, in the OP!

The f-smashes of the Fan and Home-Run Bat. Fan does 100 shield damage, Home-Run Bat does -9 (and has the 0A-to-08 bit on unlike all other swing items, which kind of seems like it would signal negation from 119 if it didn't control projectiles passing through each other even though the clang...

Important Melee, Hacks, and You -- New Hackers Start Here, in the OP!

Change the 0A to 08 instead, since that flips only one bit. Changing it to 09 flips two bits and would cause the hitbox to deal +65 damage to shields. Or at least that would make things consistent with almost every item hitbox in the game, but my testing shows that the 09 does no significant...

    FSmash Angles

Well there's only hitbox data for 3 angles, so unless mid-up and mid-down share the data of another angle (which I personally find unlikely) there are only 3 angles. In SSB64 however her f-smash had 5 distinct angles.
