Shield will always be that thing that is too strong in Smash. This game has a built in option against it which is the 6f of input lag (akin to the 8f of input lag in SF5) that make the f1 properties of shield a lot less ridiculous.
Also very few are willing to lame it out with shield. If a Smash game gives you the tools to do otherwise the playerbase generally does otherwise.

I'm so used to seeing wifi clouds spot dodge down smash, and up smash is fantastic as an anti-air but I expect people scared of dying to almost never jump against Cloud.
