AIs in this game for some bizarre reason will only air dodge after the raw hit stun value.
They won't cancel hit stun early with air dodges or attacks like humans can and the engine allows.

oh, damn, that's irritating. I really hope i haven't spread any false information because of this x_x, i was under the assumption the computer would cancel hitstun with an airdodge asap.

at the very least, it should be accurate for low amounts of knockback, shouldn't it? If i remember correctly the difference only starts to show as knockback goes up.

if you're working with frame data, just assume you generally only have 40 frames of hit stun to work with.
At lower knockback though it -should- be accurate.

so for example, would Usmash to double nair to up b from G&W actually be inescapable at 0%?

Refer to your frame data. U smash to nair would likely be very real, but the second nair due to end/landing lag or the up-b due to it's start up may not be real.
