    Hey Spadefox, do you mind if I intrude on your argument with salaboB on the ban Metaknight thread? I have a few points I'd like to make.

    I've been keeping up with the series religiously since Symphony of the Night, prior to that I just borrowed games from friends. Actually my brother owned Symphony and refused to let me play it, but he played in a public place and I was entranced by it. I had a GBA, so I kept up with the GBA games and eventually upgraded to DS, then bought my bro's PS2 off him and now (finally) own my own copy of Symphony of the Night.

    Really, my favorite of the gba/ds games was Aria of Sorrow, though portrait of Ruin was definitely my favorite DS one so far, I don't know, the presentation in DoS just seemed a little flatter then in Portrait, plus I loved the tragic elements. And the Battle system was a lot better, but I missed playing as Alucard.

    You're a castlevania fan too? Been playing since I was a little kid, but really got into it with Symphony of the Night. Still haven't picked up Order of Ecclesia cause School's been keeping me really busy, but I loved Portrait of Ruin. I was especially happy about how much more advanced the battle system got (aka, how much more I could game it, lol).

    I have to get used to lag, because Wifi is all I can play. I'm too much of a ***** to meet up with others smashers.

    And I know nothing of Austria. It's never in the news lol.

    I think OoE was the hardest one yet. Level 1 hard mode was too fun in both of them, though.

    Order of Ecclesia got me back into Castlevania after a long time not playing it.

    I'd play you on wifi, but my neighbours just got a lock on their wifi >:[ I can't steal it now, so I'll have to buy a Wii LAN adapter some time.

    BTW, Austria rocks :O I went on vacation there :p

    BTW, Sonic boards are sort of rediscussing Bowser even though it's not official yet. Pop in our matchup thread and voice your opinion :O
    We're leaning from 60:40-55:45 to 50:50.

    He was a leader and an organizer at heart. Sure, it came off as prideful, but he definately achieved results for the boards, these days the Marth boards are definately one of the most organized boards on smashboards and he taught a very good theoretical model for discussing match-ups. Course, he made em all cynical and elitist... Whatever, everything has it's trade-offs right?

    Still, anyone says Marth is top 3 and I think he'll go into a killing rage or something, he's very adment about Marth sucking these days.

    He's where he belongs in rating, in ranking he should be one spot above, but that goes into my whole rant about how players need to play to win and we'll never know if planking is banworthy unless people use it, but... Or maybe I'm overestimating it, it's difficult to understand how powerful it really is with nobody but plank using it.


    Top 3?! Lols, sic Emblem Lord on them, he knows where it's at. Unless they're talking about a magical world with fairies and unicorns and MK being banned there's no way that Marth deserves to be top 3.

    I always found it more the "lovable douche" type, not the "really annoying douche", because I think they've got good intentions overall, but I'll always stick around cause I like the character.

    Define "overestimate". I personally think that he's ok (aka, he sucks) in the current metagame, but he's the top contender for best character overall if MK were banned. Current rating is fine imo, but he should go up a spot because Falco should go down considerably, because of planking (which people need to use more).

    Basically, I try to ground my understanding of my character in reason, if I'm wrong, I try to reshape my views, and will admit when I make a mistake. I'm a major fan of "theorycraft" but I think that smashers need better models for how to do it, and that's the main reason why I made my theoretical model for dealing with mindgames. Nobody else seems interested though.

    I dunno, probably gonna ask around and see if people are interested in starting a project on it.


    So, do I overestimate Marth? If so, why?

    Marth boards tend to be a little douchebagish so I guess that's why I'm one of the few.
