Editing my question. I'm having problems with Mario's lack of range. Most of the people I play with regularly use characters who outrange Mario (mostly Ike and Marth). Is there anything I can do to close the range and punish them?

I'd say that for just playing friendly matches with friends that maybe you should not use AT's and the like (chaingrabs etc) if your friends complain. If your friends improve than sure use them but it they can't than don't. Continue to learn AT's for serious matches though.

This doesn't show an accurate representation of the match-up at all. It just showed a good Sonic destroy a sub-par Snake. (Some of the stuff the Sonic did was cool though.)

You're right but it isn't being ranked based off of "ease of hitting". If you look at Ganondorf's killing power summary you will see that he certainly has no problems with kill moves but they are hard to land. He got rated as "above average". Ivy has quite a few kill moves (I also forgot about...
