    questions about a tournament

You do not by any means have to bring a full set up. But at many tournaments by doing so, you get a reduced venue fee. Furthermore, it helps out the TOs a lot of the time and helps to keep the day running smoothly. That being said, all you really need is your controller and money to enter.

    questions about a tournament

A setup would be the TV, console, and game. That would be considered a full set up. As for preparation for the tournament... Honestly, that is going to be hard. You are going to get beat a lot going to your first tournament. Remember, most of the people there have had much more practice...

    Tournament vs. Friendly Set ups

Alright, sounds good!! Thank you very much!! I actually looked at the circuits in my house and figured out I can do 12 setups. So I may have that many.

    questions about a tournament

I just recently went to my first tournament. There was about 80 people there. I loved it. To bring, you really just need a controller though a setup for the tournament would also be appreciated. Not to mention by bringing a setup, it will allow you to get right to meeting people. Go early and...

    Tournament vs. Friendly Set ups

Hello all, I am hosting my first tournament pretty soon and was curious as to if you guys think there is a certain amount of setups I should plan on having available for friendlies. I believe I am going to have 9 set ups total so should I plan on doing 6 for the tournament and 3 for friendlies...

Backwoods Smash (PM and Melee) (Stevens Point, WI)

Facebook Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/591213121013352/ Welcome to the Backwoods. This will be a Melee and Project M house tournament occurring on February 28th (tentatively). My house is about 1 mile outside of Stevens Point by Club 10 if you know where that is. Registration will be...

    Sony Trinitron TVs

Hello everyone, In preparation for hosting a tournament I have been keeping an eye on craigslist for TVs. I have heard that Sony Trinitrons are supposedly some of the best but also have heard that certain models have input lag on them. My question is, is there any way to easily discern the...

Smash 4 - What type of TV to use at my tournament?

So then I presume that using the Wii U's component or AV cables would not cause any extra input lag even though it was meant for HDMI? I am sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, I just want to make sure it is a viable option for a Smash 4 tourney.

Smash 4 - What type of TV to use at my tournament?

Hello guys, The state I am living in does not have a very large Smash 4 community at all. In fact, I have seen only one tournament currently being advertised that includes a Smash 4 Bracket (In WI by the way). Anyways, because of this fact, I am looking to try and start hosting some...

    Wisconsin Wii U Tournaments

Well I am actually debating to organize a couple Smash 4 tournaments in Wisconsin because there is a lack of it in the area. Maybe if I start, I can then get people involved in the scene. I'm trying to see if there is enough interest in the game first though. So if I were to do it, would you be...

    Wisconsin Wii U Tournaments

I am in Wisconsin too. Not this weekend, but next weekend there will be a tournament in Stevens Point. The TO's haven't said if they will do Smash 4 yet though because they may not have enough setups. I am willing to bring mine, but they need a couple more.

    I am Giraffe

Haha I have no idea why you would suggest Bowser. Honestly, I did not really like him in Melee but in Smash 4 he just seems smoother I guess which is why I am giving him more of a shot. But thanks for all the welcomes, did you guys have a main before going to your first tournament, or kinda...
