Try practicing on 7s like I suggested a while back. You still get the "higher caliber" challenge, but less of the in-human timing.
No, items weren't the reason. We, the friends who lived in my complex and I, were using 2.0 damage months after turning off items. I think it was my shift away from b-moves that "weakened" me. Before learning about ANY of the ATs or the competitive scene, I'd say at least 80% of my "style" was specials and I almost never shielded or grabbed.

Yea I'm using Reimi for whenever I get in a fight down there. She can hit pretty much anyone in field with her skills especially with Savage Sparrows. Bacchus is for bosses lolI'm not sure they do it on purpose; I think I happen to walk into, or try to attack through, their jabs. For Dancing Blade, maybe it's the variation you use that has so much knockback since you can change the angle of the Control Stick after the first hit to use a slightly different strike.
I used to practice exclusively against 9s. I'd do 4-way ffas vs lv9 Marth, Falco and Zelda/Shiek (top tiers at the time) and win most of the time with minimal to moderate camping. That was until I met the friends that got me interested in competitive Melee/Brawl. Now 9s destroy me, so I stick to no higher than 7s on Melee and 3s (too lazy to change from this default) on Brawl.
I guess you and Matt could switch.

I have him on Beat S lol. Hes still pretty broken with any beat set to him. You can escape but that takes way too long to get out and the monsters would have alread killed all of your party members during that time.
I think my Bacchus is on lv 56 atm
You dont need to level up when you have a completly broken character like Bacchus LOL
Stay away from the bee AND the TREES. The tree is most **** monster in the game.It may be because of Brawl, but I seem to use b moves noticeably less, which seems to have weakened my Pika. Ylink seems the same, easily outranges with grab, arrows, bombs. The only thing that pisses me off is G&W's neutral a; the cpu ends up cancelling many of my attacks with it and somehow hits me out of attacks I could have sworn had more priority (Pika's head is basically against him from a dash attack and he jabs me out of the attack). I'm rediscovering why I didn't grab with Pika on Melee: super short range (and I'm too used to the slight slide before the grab on Brawl)
Mind you this is against lv5, so 9s are most likely worse.Played Melee for the last half hour. I kinda see what you mean about G&W's KO power, though my earlier than usual deaths could be from lack of practice (both the game and MUs). He's annoying because so much of my game appears to be aerial and G&W is one of those that always uses his up-b when you're above him and his tilts have range over most of Pika's moves.
Yea I managed to clear the second floor. I almost got gameover from fighting the bosses there. The problem wasnt only the bosses it was getting out of the dungeon to restock on items and reviving my party members. Bacchus was my only active member after that boss fight lol I know if I've gotten into a fight with one of the monsters that it would be gameover for me. But I got out, healed everyone and resupplied on items ready to go back into the battlefield.

How far did you get through the Cave of the Seven Stars?I renewed mine in July. I think I've read at least half the cover stories between Borderlands (my first issue) and the Top 100, but have only read the one since. I'd prolly be reading more if they didn't tend to be for 360/PS3/PC, none of which I have (my PC is over a decade old).
Oh yeah, don't forget about Bleach tonight at 1am. The episodes should be based around a couple big fights, as I've said before.

To make things easier if you can get a mercenary like knubs, or someone else to fill in your spot until DTK gets back it will be easier.
Hm . . . this is a hard choice, I'm going to say that you will be allowed to have a sub in. When DTK can play again that sub in will become a mercenary.

I admire the fact that you want to keep it as a HOR themed team but 10 days is pretty long and im already a little maddened that i won't be able to attend the Ike boards LAST bi-weekly tournament for Ike power ranking Im 8th on the list out of 20 or more ikes >___> I'll probably lose alot of skill so just fire me and give someone else the job.

That's interesting. I like it.I don't always rely on reviews, some games I like based on what I read in GI previews. Most notable example is Borderlands. Loved the cover story article from Sept '07 and have yet to be disappointed by reviews. It's another of my 360 priorities.
Get some rechargeable batteries, preferably at least two (sets). I've got a couple and use one until it's out of charge, place it in the charger, and use the second. Unless multiple remotes are in constant use, you shouldn't have to worry about batteries much (aside from when they need to be recharged) for a long time (had mine since Xmas '08)The list would be longer if I wasn't so strict with myself; I only list the games that look really interesting, or ones I know I like (ones I've played at friends' houses)
That would make sense about the battery.
I've still got about 3 hours left.I know, I have to keep a running wishlist for games I want (mostly for the benefit of my mom and grandparents). The 360 portion has a couple dozen listed, but then again I only list system exclusives for the others.

I've been meaning to ask: where are your recent avvies from? The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya?I have no trouble finding CivRev for 360 at the GameStop near me. It's the DS version I don't see often. Halo Wars came out after CivRev I believe, so it would have improved on the controls if anything.
Melee always has it's draws over other games. I could have listed more games that I need to work on, but those three were the most interesting/completed.
I don't understand any of that last part. What game is it from?MP1- I've played all but getting out of the Power Bomb room on the dark TV and the only difficulties were what I mentioned (Thermal Visor helped in the dark areas of Phendrana). What little use I've put the X-Ray to hasn't been bad
NPC
- Day 1 is a freebie, I'm a little slower on the other days than the link I gave says, but it's close enough to what I did. NPC is better in most respects than the GC version. The exception is Pikmin control, which is relies on the position of the targeting reticule.
If you have the option of getting the 360 version of CivRev over the DS one, go for it. Better graphics (obviously), possibly better controls (don't have much experience with the 360 one), more incentive to keep playing (Achievements), and they had to eliminate a few useful features on the DS version (notably the Civilopedia)
