Hot sauce is addicting. One time I ate an entire package of saltine crackers and put ghost pepper sauce on them, and I couldn't stop eating until my stomach was sore and begging for me to stop. It was so delicious.

play by play is mega important 4sho

but especially for "showcase" events like zenith I'm a definite believer in the power of fluff/background. That said, You can't really commentate 64 real fluffy like you can melee sometimes because the situations are... less familiar, I guess? More important? It's like baseball vs soccer; a lot can happen real fast in soccer but you sound stupid if you try to say it all, whereas if someone hits a double you should probably note that the dude hit a double. So yeah my philosophy is that the commentator-opinions-about-stuff should be 90% between matches--but there's different ways to do commentary and none of em is necessarily right. I thought a lot of the apex 2014 stuff worked real well, even if I couldn't have made it work. Good insight > bad play by play.

commentators just have to be mindful of whats going on and drop the fluff if something actually happens. Jimmyjoe and Pete are awesome, but watching my match vs Ceaser from last Apex was infuriating. Almost the entire first game was player background, missing out on lots of pretty interesting play by play material.

Lets say there are 16 entrants in a tournament, and you want 4 pools of 4 people before doing a bracket. They are seeded 1 through 16. Which do you think are more fair pools?

Case A
Pool 1: 1,8,9,16
Pool 2: 2,7,10,15
Pool 3: 3,6.11,14
Pool 4: 4,5.12.13

Case B:
Pool 1: 1,5,9,13
Pool 2: 2,6,10,14
Pool 3: 3,7.11,15
Pool 4: 4,8.12.16

Case A
Pool 1: 1,8,9,16

Case B:

Case A is definitely more fair. Assuming 2/4 make it out of these pools, then if you use Case B, there is a HUGE jump between being the 8th seed (have to beat a person 4 seeds below you) and being the 9th seed (have to beat someone 4 sees above you, as well as beat someone 4 seeds below you which is the hardest thing 8 has to do).

Case B works out so that within each seeding tier (1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-16) the best seeds to be in terms of having a chance to advance are:

4 > 3 > 2 > 1
8 > 7 > 6 > 5
12 > 11 > 10 > 9
16 > 15 > 14 > 13

In Case A, however, the sum of the other seeds in your pool increases as your own seed gets better, so it is always desirable to be a better seed.
