Actually, I'm hoping she get a whole new move set based on her Twilight Princess appearance. I hear she has a rapier, but I haven't had a chance to play TP. Though if for some reason she was completely identical to Melee Zelda except for down-b, I have to agree with everyone else and say she'll get the Light Arrows. I imagine it'd be like Link's arrow except maybe causing an explosion when it hits. That huge beam of light she shot at Ganon in OoT was pretty groovy, too.

Although, the Wisdom to Open Doors does sound unbeatably awesome. XD
hmm, pit has light arrows...too many light arrows...?

It's actually quite logical that Zelda will have her Wisdom to open doors.
First of all, she has the Triforce of wisdom, which is one of the three Triforces.
And at the and of OOT the only move she uses allot is her Open Doors. So I think it's reasonable for her to have the Wisdom to open the doors at Super Smash Bros.
If you disagree please give me reasons.

oh boy....how the f*** is that an attack! is she gonna open doors to cause damage

?!!!

She'll probably have more moves changed than just her b-down. She'll probably get her sword from TP and have a new graceful sword fighting style.

Guys, let's all be serious. Open doors stands no chance of being the B-Down move, it's far too powerful.

It will be her super move.

'tis true, but how many sword users is this game gona have? link , zelda, potentially ganon and a couple from fire emblem, meta knight and pit (sort of)...well, whatevs.

i'd prefer she was an exclusively magic using type of character, with the ability to stay at range (read run away) effectively, and a nice knockback attack (the down triforce or nayru's love could do this a bit), not to metion decent ranged attacks.

If shiek is removed, and I think she will be, Zelda's moveset will be dramatically different. The three magic items (Dins, Naru's, etc.) haven't been around for three major console releases, a handheld, and some more minor appearances (four swords). Not a chance if Shiek is no longer considered important, Din's Fire and the like will be.

I would expect a moveset centered around a lot of magical projectiles, and possibly including the sword she is seen with in TP. Her light bow and arrows may come into play, which seems a bit too similar to Link's, except that whatever it looks like, it's still going to be a projectile, and would probably work much differently. I would expect some TP-related moves that were never really seen, like some basic light-based abilities as well.

It's true that Brawl seems to be becoming heavily laden with sword-users... on the other hand, many characters share certain kicks and punches and stuff. It all depends on how it's pulled off... a rapier is not just a sword after all.

Now that I think of it, check out Melee Zelda with a light saber or whatsitcalled. I don't remember the others, but her dash attack with it speaks of quite interesting swordplay skills.

I think Zelda will have a unique sword fighting style, though. It will probably include really graceful movements, kind of like what she has in melee, but with a sword.

reiterating what fawriel said, when you give zelda the beam sword in melee, her moves are uber graceful. i think the question isnt what her sword skills will be like, but rather whether or not she gets a sword. i, for one, am uncertain as to whether i want her to have a sword...

I'd rather see Ganondorf with his beef-cheese sword than Zelda, to be honest. I think her magic abilities should be her focus, possibly with light arrows. In TP that bow was the hotness...

If she does end up with a sword though, that'll be cool too.

Why does everyone think Sheik is gone? People usually use her over Zelda.

HAH!(Ms. Crobopple laugh) No offense, but when she makes makes the cut, youll see zelda every where online, including me. shes the best character. you have to play mind games with her, then trick & attack.

Ice Climbers and Pit were only in one game. =P But I guess I see your point. I don't see why she couldn't be made into a separate character like I hope zamus will be.

dont worry, i have a sneaking suspicion that while the character shiek will most likely go, her legacy will live on...most likely through zamus, but mebbe some other character. who knows at this point.

in addition, i agree about samus and zamus being different characters. heres to hopin'

Quoted for truth, I hope that he has a great projectile game. My favorite characters are the ones with great projectiles. (Besides Luigi, but he is just too fun)
in the first trailer his light arrow kind of bends upwards. i know its just cinematic at that point in the movie, but has there been talk on that? like, what would it be like if they gave his arrows reverse properties to links' (ie. bending up rather than down)? they are made from light arfterall...

@ cojiro. agreed. not knowing that fact is more debilitating to me than knowing about the controls to be honest.

He means (I think )pressing jump allows you to stop the animation, meaning it doesn't have to last its full duration. Jump Cancel: JC. Means the move is heaps more versatile.

I can't see it happening, but it certainly cause a lot of mischief...

No one has discussed this. That makes me a sad panda. :(

I really do hope his projectile game is unique!!!
