Afternoon gorls. How's everyone doing? :4zelda:

Just been to the dentist today to have them look at this tooth of mine since I somehow moved it with my tongue Sunday evening.

I found out that it was the enamel that got damaged which caused it to be moved a few millimetres away from its original place; so they suggested either of the following:

- Use some sensitive toothpaste to help it and see if that'll help it overtime.
- Have a filling.

I easily went with the filling; since if I use the sensitive toothpaste, it might not work. But because of this, I won't be able to have some foods or snacks that are stretchy. But I might as well get it done, I'll be going back to the dentist on the 6th of December.

Also, gonna try and do some Uni work today. Hopefully I'll be able to look through some of the stuff my Tutor talked about; such as the group work I'll be doing and the report I'll be going through too.

Might also attempt to go and make a new deck in Duel Links; since I'm concerned about my Phoenix Deck bricking (Though the same can be said for Naturia which aren't as strong now).

Oh I also made somethin y'all will probably like. Since I got photoshop, spare time, and bad ideas and all....

Also Buddhahobo Buddhahobo if you have Discord we can organize some games, though I do not have Tekken. I can play SF5 or just about any fighter on FightCade (preferably ST or SFA2)

Me: Mm, i wonder what Blade the Xenoblade 2 Twitter will reveal today.
Xenoblade 2 Twitter:

Protect her.

Yeah, it would be horrible if someone spoiled the game and told you Rex is Luke Skywalker's father

Changing the subject, I need halp. I felt like I needed a new laptop so I got a new one for Black Friday. My current one has an i5 processor and the oh-so-wonderful Intel Integrated Graphics. The new one I bought had an AMD A12 processor and I just wanted anything that could run a game better than an Intel laptop (the AMD laptop was not labeled as a gaming laptop and I didn't want a gaming laptop, I wanted something all-purpose that could also run games better than trash). So far... the AMD laptop is worse in every single way compared to my Intel laptop. It only displays up to 720p, it runs extremely slow, a full battery on it lasted for a whopping hour and a half (that was spent staring at the desktop with a few background downloads running, so nothing too intensive. With Overwatch running it would probably last half an hour max [ik I would have it plugged in if I was playing OW but that's still a joke]), and the sound is pretty trash. But then I loaded up Overwatch and it's able to run medium graphics at 60fps. The Intel laptop runs at 30fps at max on the lowest settings, usually it's at 20. So it's worse in every way BUT it can run games way better. Now idk if I should return it or not. I could keep it and use it exclusively as a gaming laptop but that feels a bit silly. I don't play OW much anymore but I still want to try Nier which would benefit from a PC that can actually run it. The game is on sale on Steam right now so maybe I should get it and see how it runs on my Intel laptop first, but I'd be amazed if I could even load the game with it. But even then, I'd play Nier for maybe a week or 2, so I would still barely use the AMD laptop. Also I'm not really sure that I'd want to start a new game THIS CLOSE to Xenoblade 2's release.
:drsad:
Update: I'm returning it. OW ended up being the only game that ran well on it. It can't even play a DRV3 cutscene without lagging a bunch on the lowest settings.

First question: how much did you pay for the new laptop? Just wondering along with the whole checking its normal price stuff because sometimes sales aren't really sales.
Anyway, I don't know which A12 APU the new laptop has exactly, but it's still under the Bristol Ridge of processors which are Bulldozer-based. In other words, it's still under the architecture that more or less made AMD irrelevant for about 6 years. There were some gains like APUs being created that combine CPU and GPU onto one die -- I'm not exactly sure how it works exactly. Main point is that Bulldozer architecture processors being what they are, their CPU performance is not good nor is their power efficiency.

That doesn't mean they're bad, especially given that APUs boast strong integrated graphics compared to Intel where their Iris Pro Graphics are only offered on high-end options and I don't think they're worth it since you can just buy a laptop or desktop that has whatever CPU and a GPU from AMD or Nvidia. So, if this was your only laptop, then it should be fine, but it's not the best. For example, someone who only wants to surf the web and do basic word processing would be better off with a Chromebook or a laptop that isn't running a Bristol Ridge and before APU since it would probably have better battery life and not be as sluggish depending on the CPU.

A quick thing before I move on: display resolution should be dependent on the screen itself. That is to say, you bought a laptop that has a screen that is only capable of displaying 1280x720. As far as I know, it should have nothing to do with processor or GPU. Well, relative to today's technology since I don't know if a dinosaur of a computer would have trouble with high resolutions even for basic stuff. Considering it's a "modern" processor, it should be capable of 1920x1080 or higher resolutions, but the screen itself is only capable of displaying 1280x720.

Back to the processor, Bristol Ridge was released around September 2016 for desktops and Octobor 2016 for laptops. March 2017 was when the first Zen processors were available for sale and that's the architecture that put AMD back on the playing field. Raven Ridge is the next batch of APUs and apparently they're already out as they were released in October 2017. Those APUs would be using Zen architecture CPUs, so they would have been much better CPU-wise -- both power and efficiency -- while having the GPU performance APUs have been known for. The current processors for Raven Ridge are the Ryzen 5 2500U and Ryzen 7 2700U. AMD's been naming their Zen processors after Intel's naming scheme which is kind of dumb, but anyway, I reckon the R5 would be like the i5 and the R7 would be like the i7. Anyway, the only issue is that I think it's currently only on select HP Envy laptops which makes sense since it just came out. Main point here is that Raven Ridge should be much better than Bristol Ridge or any APU that was Bulldozer-based.

* AMD's Vega cards are weird. From what I read, they are power efficient where at low voltages and clockspeed?, they're powerful for the power they draw. The problem is because AMD thought high-end GPUs weren't going to sell or whatever, they left a massive gap where AMD was only competing at mid-range to low-end GPUs with their Polaris cards which are also power efficient. So, when they tried to compete with Nvidia's GTX 1070, 1080, and Titan cards, the high specs to match them made their Vega cards perform badly. What doesn't help is that AMD's cards are generally good at cryptocurrency mining, so even if you wanted a Vega or even Polaris card, miners would buy them out of stock which pissed off people of course. People have said it's like AMD has abandoned regular consumers, gamers, for the miners with Vega and that it's dumb that their high-end GPUs aren't that great leaving Nvidia as the only real option for high-end GPUs.
TL;DR: You bought an older generation, Bristol Ridge AMD APU laptop when the newer generation, Raven Ridge APUs were just released, albeit, currently only on select HP Envy laptops. The older generation is based on Bulldozer which wasn't good while the newer generation is based on Zen which allowed AMD to compete with Intel rather than being pretty much irrelevant.

Hopefully that helps. I would say return it if you don't really need the gaming performance the A12 laptop offers considering the drawback in CPU performance, battery life, and lower resolution. And if you were to buy a new laptop now with the ability to game, get a laptop with an Intel i5 or i7, preferably 4-core because 2-core i5 and i7s are dumb, and a GTX 1050. A GTX 1050 Ti or higher would be better, but that's up to how much you want to spend. If I recall correctly from the discussion with Locke 06 a while back, you can get something like that for about $650. Also, check benchmarks on games you're playing or want to play. Otherwise, wait for more Raven Ridge APU laptops, laptops with Intel CPUs and AMD GPUs, and maybe AMD CPUs and whatever GPUs -- probably Nvidia since AMD has their APUs, so an AMD CPU and GPU laptop seems redundant.

Quick Edit:
Update: I'm returning it. OW ended up being the only game that ran well on it. It can't even play a DRV3 cutscene without lagging a bunch on the lowest settings.
Oh.

gorl do u need help?

You might be better off ordering one online. Just make sure the laptop has an independent graphics card. Either that or tell me your budget and I can probably find one pretty fast since all I'm doing this weekend is crocheting and playing OW and trying to find a new show to watch.

Moira is rapidly becoming one of my favorite characters

I love the having to balance between healing my teammates and doing damage in order to refill my healing resource meter

It feels absolutely awful when you're out of the healing resource and there are no enemies around to leech off of, though

I already got both of her achievements (they're not very hard, tbh) and gotten a few PotGs with her. Maybe I'll upload some of them idk

I'm not sure why, but I have fallen in love with her Glam skin. I hated it when I first saw it, but I got it out of an arcade loot box and it has grown on me since. I still hate Moon, though. Regardless, her skins are pretty good for the most part.

Honestly, I might consider her for my first golden weapon. It'll be a while since I only have 1.8k competitive points, but still. I was going to get either Mercy or Ana's golden weapons, but I might have to add Moira to that list.

Hot Mess: a sentient flaming pile of weave and makeup. Was once a sassless heaux with a makeup tutorial addiction. Attacks with flaming trash that a very nice gorl might generously call "makeup" or "clothes" to spare Hot Mess' feelings.

Nini: a small green thing that is kinda cute(?) and is always doing her best. Even if she accidentally heals her enemies half the time. Randomly heals any one target using pure determination and positivity. But if she's alone then she runs away.

Ffamran Ffamran Lil Puddin Lil Puddin Thanks for the help gorls. Since it was Black Friday, I kinda wanted to see how cheap I could go for a decent new laptop. But what I have learned is that my current laptop is fine and I really don't need a new one anytime soon. So it's all good. :happysheep:

And Puddin, if you want something to watch, I'd recommend Touch. It's one of my favorite shows ever made and I urge everyone I know to watch it but nobody ever does and it makes me saaaaaaaaaaaaaaad

Afternoon gorls. How's everyone doing? :4zelda:

Been out with my parents to do some shopping, and gonna look through some of the stuff I have to do later today for Uni.

I'll also be trying to get some of the other characters in Duel Links Unlocked.

Found out that Ishizu takes 300 Light Monsters summoned to have her appear. 200 Dark Monsters for Aster Phoenix. 50 Close to Deck Outs for Bastion Aizawa and 300 Traps Activated for Odion.

Y2Kay Y2Kay I found the perfect NPC precious buff boy for armor/weapon selling. :^)

Named Gorlo - the G is silent but even he forgets it's silent sometimes. Was once a fighter of peace and justice until one day someone said he had a devilishly killer butt. Afraid his butt was a vicious and devious murderer, he stopped fighting and chose a different career that kept him away from large groups of people. Nobody wants to tell him that "killer butt" is not a literal phrase because he would probably not understand anyway. Precious dumb buff boy Gorlo now quickly creates and sells good gear. For cheap too! Gorls can't tell if it's because he's genuinely a sweetie-pie or just very bad at math; it's probably both. He has portals linking all his store fronts, which are managed by little jiggling things with a constant mildly creepy but adorable expression unless you waste their time or wreck the store. Their job is to clean the store or go get the big guy when there's customers. They also make problems disappear. Like thieves or store-wreckers! Or at least we assume so, we can't be sure because none of the bodies were discovered. Talk about efficient.

I just wiki'd Touch and it looks like a sad drama with maybe action(?) or something. Gorl. I lack the capacity to handle that. I can't even watch most romance movies without crying. I get extra when watching stuff by myself and idk why. I'm pretty sure I spent 25% of the time cringing, screeching, and laugh-crying when watching Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. But then Season 2 Finale's last few minutes rolled around and I was crying and going NOGORLNOOOAAADON'TLEAVEPAULINEALLALONEDON'TDOIT

Who are you gorls going to summon for on the legendary banner?

My number one priority is Spring Camilla. I desperately wanted to get her from her original banner, but I got 3 Spring Chroms instead cricricri

I'd also like Spring Marx, and I wouldn't be disappointed to get more merges for my Bridal Caeda.

I don't care too much about the other units on the banner tbh, other than most of them having good skill fodder

My main 2 goals on the banner are Hector and Genny for DC and Wrathful Staff. I've even started going through my barracks and favoriting some good IV'd units that would make good use of both skills. Of course I'm not expecting to get enough Hectors and Gennys for ALL of them, but w.e.
I don't really want/need any of the units on the banner for themselves, I just see everyone there as great fodder. So even if I get a good IV'd Deirdre or something similar, I would most likely use her as Spd Ploy fodder. Bridelia is the only unit there that I may end up using, but the rest are sacks of skills.

I think I'm just going for greens. Greens has quick riposte 3 fodder, distant counter fodder, and Spring Camilla who's the baddest gorl around when it comes to flying mages. So there's really no such thing as losing ♥love♥ I think my 2nd pick would be reds because they give S+ tier fodder and Celica is pretty good as is Arya so w/e. I don't hate greys or blues. If it comes down to those 2 I'd probably just summon blue for the chance of Fjorn or better IVs Twerk Boy/Waifu Caeda.

Cress! Cress! fine but if I cry I'm going to bottle my tears and throw them at you so you can share my sadness.

Morning gorls. How's everyone doing? :4zelda:

Unlocked Takumi and Leo in FE Warriors.

And to be a good boy... I made sure Takumi was absolutely useless in Chapter 7. I'd just move him to an unoccupied/empty space of the map. :secretkpop:

As for the the Conquest version of Chapter 7; that was a bit of a challenge. Having three riders was cumbersome (Made sure Elise was allied with Lissa, Lianna allied with Camilla. Leo almost got beat), and that some of the Forts were getting constantly captured; but at least I managed to unlock some other characters that I'll be looking forward to using!

Except Takumi.

You can just stay as far away as possible from me and my units.

Btw, Sonic Forces now has the Sanic T-shirt as free DLC. I have nothing else to say about it. :V

Anyone here an expert on earbuds?

I've heard good things about both the Mrice E300 and Carbo Tenore, but iunno.
I bought many since I use them with my phone when exercising. It really depends what you're looking for.

Right angle jacks are more durable when it comes to a device that will be jangling around in a pouch, pocket, or purse. Straight jacks are more durable overall when kept straight, but that's the thing, when kept straight. Bend it, you wear it out. Bend it and jangling it around for a while, then just throw it in the trash.

For me I settled with Sony MDREX10LP (10~15 dollar earbuds). I got them as a gift, was like "o gee thnx for dis basic gabaje i guess" but I used them. These little ****ers survived going into my washer somehow. They handled months of jangling around in my mesh shorts while running. They fit nicely in my ears and the cords are a bit longer than standard headphones or earbuds. Finally after 8 months they started to do that thing where one side cuts out easily. They survived 8 months of unforgiving wear and tear. Not even my 30~40 dollar earbuds could do that. So for 10 dollars I got 8 months of extreme use. They sound decent and they're hella durable. I pretty much buy a pair whenever I see them in a store now. Though over the 4 years I've only threw out 3 pairs from extreme wear and tear. I have a "calm nice time" pair that have lasted for 3 years and are still going, so there's those at least.

"Cheap, with good sound quality for the price." I'm not keen on going expensive with earbuds, considering how easily they can end up damaged. Bad audio quality is pretty grating to me, though. A right angle jack and being comfortable would be preferable, but the former's whatever and the latter is subjective.

The more reading I do, the more I'm thinking I'll just go with the Mrice. They're two years old though, so maybe there's a newer or better model idk.

edit: reading further, I'm not sure about those anymore either l0l

Dear Mila, Lukas got RNG screwed hard. I'm not sure how difficult the game is on hard mode and I am trying to get the Dracoshield, but anyway, throughout Lukas's 9 level ups, he has only gained 1 defense. He has 6 defense right now at level 11 giving him the second-lowest defense of the characters I have. Silque has 5 defense from apparently gaining 4 defense from her 12 level ups. Yeah, I kind of overleveled her...

Meanwhile, his speed which went up by 4. Lukas has a 45% defense growth and a 25% speed growth, but somehow RNG turned him into Forsyth. Forsyth starts out as a level 4 soldier with 7 defense. He's level 10 now with 10 defense.

Clair also got RNG screwed. In her 9 level ups, she has not gained a single point in attack. She's still stuck with her 8 base attack. Clair's attack growth is 40%. Meanwhile, +3 HP, +7 skill, +8 speed, +9 luck, and +4 defense. She actually has higher defense than Lukas; she has 8 defense now.

On a brighter note, Kliff got blessed and he's a killer archer. 18 attack, 13 skill, and 15 speed is pretty dumb at this point in the game. 2 speed came from the well, though, since I wasn't sure how'd he manage as an archer since archers gives a -5% speed growth. And then there's Faye who is a cleric, but has 20 attack because Faye. Tobin got a bit lucky too as he managed to get 8 speed despite his low 25% growth. I made Tobin a mage since apparently he is good as one because of his base speed and early access to Excalibur. Granted, I did get them to level 10 as villagers before reclassing them, but Shadows of Valentia's growths are low and I wanted to make sure they would be fine using the extra levels if Lukas isn't any indication of a regular unit getting screwed.

I have no idea what I'm going to do with Lukas. I want to use him since I like him. Maybe he'll get a couple more defense if I can level him up. And if he still gets screwed if I promote him to bump his defense up to a knight's base defense, then I might use a Pitchfork and reclass him to something else.

I'm an audiophile so I miiiight be able to help, but I'm more knowledgable of cans and a big believer of the boots theory, so the "cheap" qualifier may discount them.

These have been my goto earbuds for the past seven years or so: AKG Q350

They last me about two years of constant, daily use (maybe an average of five hours?), being in my pocket outside of it's case, etc, I really do treat these horribly so that they last that long has always impressed me. They're a good length from pocket to ear for hikes / walks / other upright related things, and they stick in my ears well. Some of the reviews recommend swapping the rubber for comply buds which is nice, but foam buds come with their own problems despite all their sound/comfort benefits.

Main issues design wise would be the the straight jack and just the potential problems that come with it, and the mic/volume adjuster. I've walked miles and miles with these, weights are okay, but running is a bit of a no-no; sweat goes down the wire and can get in there, messing it up and cause weird connection problems.

They're more expensive, but I have had a pair of these for the past six years or so: Shure SE215K (Noise Cancelling)

It's a right angle jack, good quality, and they're phenomenal sound quality and noise cancelling-wise from a really reputable audio company. For real, my pair of AKG cans are better, but for a pair of under $100 buds? Way closer than I would of ever thought. The reason these aren't my one-and-only however, is...I honestly could never figure out how to comfortably wear around-the-ear earbuds. Like, the length of the wire is good, it feels of a better quality than AKGs (maybe too higher quality, tbh, if you walk a lot like I do. Thicker, stiffer wires = more the bud is disturbed by your motions), but they just won't stay in. That's probably a problem with the buds components themselves that I could fix by getting some foam buds, but I never really bothered and in the end all that is really a YMMV type thing; I'm sure lots of people are comfortable with wrap around the ear ear buds and can walk through a city comfortably and everything, I'm just not one of them. They're desk earbuds for me, but subway / plane / sitting related activities / wanting to listen to something high quality are all good usages for them. As a result they're still in pristine condition. It's also been six years, so there may be a newer / cheaper model of them out now, idk.

And...yeah. Really depends on your situation. How mobile you are, if you plan on taking them on a treadmill with you, if it comes with case do you actually put them in there, do you just put them in or wrap around the ear, etc.

I forgot how nice the premium aesthetic was. They even added in the last 2 April Fools themes as permanent themes lmao.
Anyways that means I can start pranking people again. I'm not even going to try and hide it but yeah, if you aren't a premium member then you could be a victim. Just remember that I prank with kindness and pure intentions. And sass. Mostly sass. :secretkpop:

Lil' Puddin confirmed neither little nor pudding-like, but actually a ripped lady-killer himself???
I’m like 99.9% sure he has a boyfriend, so I don’t think lady-killer is a relevant term

Unless he actually murders women idk

Attn peeps playing animal crossing pocket camp:

If you are friends with people, check your friend list regularly! If you see a little orange shovel icon by their name, click their profile, and then click "Lend a Hand."

This is how you help other people get into the quarry for free. (you know how it says with the help of 5 friends? It was really confusing when I first was checking the quarry out, but I and a buddy of mine figured this out. Seems like not everyone knows this atm...?)

Also I should get any other gorls besides Spritzee here if y'all play so that we can all take advantage of free quarry visit help and daily kudos bonuses. (My code: 8063 3053 590)

I decided to grind Lukas to level 20 as a soldier as an experiment.
With how promotions work in Shadows of Valentia, I didn't need to do that to fix his defense since he'd be bumped up to 12 defense if he or any other soldier had lower than 12 defense. I just did it to mess around and I wanted to see how big of a difference it would have made for him.

Knights have 34 HP, 16 Atk, 2 Skill, 2 Spd, 0 Luck, 12 Def, and 1 Res as their base stats. Lukas starts out at level 2 with 22 HP, 10 Atk, 4 Skill, 4 Spd, 2 Luck, 5 Def, and 2 Res. He needs to be level 7, 5 level ups, to promote. If it were possible to promote him immediately, then he would get +12 HP, +6 Atk, and +7 Def which considering HP, is more than 5 level ups. In those 5 level ups, he could have more skill, speed, luck, and resistance despite its very low growth in SoV. If I had promoted him, he would have been regular knight who had 8 speed and I think 10 skill as his extra stats -- I don't remember his luck.

The stats he has as a level 20 soldier right now with some resetting since the point of grinding him for me was to get defense for him is 33 HP, 14 Atk, 16 Skill, 11 Spd, 8 Luck, 15 Def, and 3 Res. Promoting him would only give him 1 HP and 2 Atk, but he'd have higher stats everywhere else.

I checked to see if there was an average stat calculator and apparently someone made one for SoV and posted it on GameFaqs: https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/204443-fire-emblem-echoes-shadows-of-valentia/75518642. The average stats for a level 20 soldier Lukas according to the calculator is 31.90 HP, 16.30 Atk, 11.20 Skill, 6.70 Spd, 6.50 Luck, 14.00 Def, and 2.36 Res. Lukas in my game is pretty much that, but got really lucky with skill and speed.

Level 11 soldier Lukas's average stats, however, is listed as 26.95 HP, 13.15 Atk, 7.60 Skill, 5.35 Spd, 4.25 Luck, 9.50 Def, and 2.18 Res.

So, Lukas had a rough start where his defense didn't go up 9 level ups, but 9 later level ups and 2-3 resets when he had bad level ups, he was able to get 10 defense points which puts him above the knight's base defense. Extra stats are always helpful and the grind wasn't that bad. Granted, it's the beginning of the game, it's only one character, and it's RNG where this could have been entirely different and Lukas could have gained defense every level up when he got to level 11. It's also the beginning of the game where I really shouldn't fret about stuff like this. I'm going to have him sit out for the rest of Act 1, but at least I know he's more than ready for the rest of the game.

Anyway, for those of you who played or are playing SoV, when did you promote your characters? With the Lukas experiment, I'm still leaning towards promoting at level 20 since those extra stats seem pretty nice and also because some of the classes don't have third promotion, so gaining as much stats as possible would be helpful. That being said, promoting could end up giving little to no stats because the character's stats could have passed the base stats and there's the issue of promote classes having extra skills or spells for mages where it could be helpful like apparently the swamps really suck in Celica's route and Genny being a saint can really help out.

They're two years old though, so maybe there's a newer or better model idk.

edit: reading further, I'm not sure about those anymore either l0l
i got u gorl

These are the kind I use. They are available in other colors too. I have a green pair and then a white pair bcuz a gorl needs to have options to match to ha phone case. These are also pretty good, they're essentially the same thing. Right angle jacks btw, so they're pocket friendly.

Lil' Puddin confirmed neither little nor pudding-like, but actually a ripped lady-killer himself???
Flan and Giga Puddi are slightly jiggly, but also super firm and way more solid than standard pudding. #Facts4Thought

I broke up with him forever ago. But I'm not single. Inigo and Summer McCree are my boyfriends now. :^)

I thought Lil' Puddin was a little french seal frolicking in the rain?
Buddhahobo Buddhahobo confirmed as the only gorl that truly knows me. btw this doubles as my exercising outfit.

I'm an audiophile so I miiiight be able to help, but I'm more knowledgable of cans and a big believer of the boots theory, so the "cheap" qualifier may discount them.

I support the boots theory as well; it's more other people and pets (my dogs are seriously talented at ruining things) than degradation from standard usage that I'm concerned about. That said, "cheap" was probably vague; <$100 is more the price bracket I was considering, so your recommendations aren't outside my range. Over-the-ear admittedly isn't something I've used, but it doesn't sound appealing to me; my outer ears are pretty sensitive, which lends to me being averse to cans as well (haven't worn any over $60, but my ears always start aching after an hour or so). I know someone I could borrow some from to try, though, I'll see if I can do that tomorrow.

Considering the parameters I'm looking for, I figured it's probably reasonable to give Chi-Fi memes a chance. I spent my whole Sunday (literally the past 10 hours) researching this; found a number of things that looked interesting and reviewed positively in the $10-70 price range, incidentally including the Tennmak Pro which is apparently similar to the Shure SE215 but priced at a modest $30.

I guess a big point of concern here is, I don't for sure know what kind of sound signature I'm looking for. Some bass is fine, but I hate it when it drowns everything else out, which led me to think I preferred an emphasis on treble, but reading about the (garbage) cans I currently have (Sennheiser HD 202; xmas present last year), it seems they're actually considered treble-heavy. I'm not sure if that's actually what I dislike about them then, or if it's entirely a quality issue, but it complicates pinning down other things as desirable purchases...I suppose if I'm going Chi-Fi anyway, I could afford to buy both a warmer and a brighter pair...

As an aside, I hadn't been aware wooden earphones were a thing. I'm feeling tempted toward something like the Sendiy M2 on aesthetic appeal alone (though they also reviewed well...and had a substantial price jump over the past year as a result).

At any rate, that was a whole lot of "Tell me what I want when I don't even know what I want", I guess. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll do some further looking into them tomorrow.
