Are there any things to note before merging heroes?

I'm looking through my barracks and running some numbers and I think it would be a good idea to 4*+10 some of the units I never touch.

Currently I'd be able to do it with Florina, Draug, and Gwendolyn. Then maybe Beruka or Camilla down the line.

Funnily enough, I was thinking about this earlier. Since a lot of units I just end up sending home, I figured I might as well merge them into 4*+10's and be able to use them somewhat effectively, while saving the bulk of my feathers for units I wanna make 5 Stars. Specifically I was thinking about all the units they're giving us for free in the Seals quests. I could easily make a +10 4* Oboro and finally have a decent lance Infantry other than Sharena. I'll have to look through my 4 Stars and see who I wanna focus on first

I have a pity 5* Cain from months ago with a BS+ I still haven't unloaded onto anyone, so I'm good there. It's mostly for characters that I'd just never 5*, don't learn anything of use as a 5*, and either are worthless as skill fodder or I have so many of them I could +10 and still have plenty left over.

Or even, like, Stahl or something. Unless I want to give someone a Ruby Sword, he's useless as SI fodder, outdone three times over by other swordhorses, but I might if he had the stats equivalent to a 5*+4 with little investment (assuming my Barracks were filled to the brim with Stahl as opposed to Florinas or Draugs).

Why have one Brave Sword+ source when you can have two or more? Think of all the possibilities!

The sad part is that most of the units who use Brave Sword well already have it and the ones who can use them well either have someone else already doing it well e.g. Seth vs. Cain or Gray vs. Ogma or they all have legendary weapons which for some seems wasteful. The only sword units other than Hana that I would want to give a Brave Sword are Caeda and Palla. Why? Because there is no Brave Sword flyer or a sword flyer with ~34 attack to begin with.

Dude, Stahl can give Ruby Sword and Swap. Ruby Sword is good and Swap is coveted by armor teams and people who want to run tanks and defensive strategies with characters like Lukas, Oboro, and Xander. Defense +3 is also fine if you don't like the recoil of Fury 3 or you can't afford to lose attack with Fortress De 3 or can't afford to get Close Def or HP/Def 2. Obstruct is probably the worst thing he has, but hey, if you're into using it, you could do weird things with it. Personally, I think M!Corrin is worst than Stahl as a skill source when M!Corrin can't give a 5* weapon to anyone and instead of a position assist that can be used by a variety of units and wanted by knights along with position skills just being good in general outside of Shove and Smite's more niche uses, he has Dragon Fang which is only used well by Brave users and high attack, high speed mages.

To be fair, that was in normal Arena. IIRC, in Arena Assault only your first team matters; you could go in with a really weak first team, and your next six battles scale off that, not any of the units you choose after that.

Hey man, it's still one level of Hell and Hell isn't a nice place unless it's in Michigan and Norway.

Edwin a Pac-Man main managed to 2-stock Salem game 2, but he lost in the end. Still that was real good.

Made it so that when you reach the next town, you'll run into the next recruitable character who is asking for donations; the main character just gives ALL of the money that you get from random encounters. Will eventually make her join you when the main party gets into another boss fight.

She's super good fodder, though, assuming you don't want to use her at all. If you do want to use her you could easily make her good with a Blade Tome. By the way, don't forget to do those daily maps gorls, basically 2 orbs from that per day and the maps seem pretty easy so far.

The Summoning Gate can be pretty good. tl;dr stand far away from enemies, throw out basically any attack, then watch stuff die. It's awful if you try to use it close-up to enemies but it's p gud.

Yea I figured. I just never cared for the mono-thematic teams found at high end arena play. I liked seeing LOLWUT units from time to time, even if it made them harder to win easily against (and also for less points boooo).

Keeping my buff husbando, thank you very much. He's awkward and nice. +Def summer Xander with 39 MANLY base defense. Unfortunately, he's -HP, so his default skills are kind of not so great on him, but that's how the cards were dealt and I didn't get a tomato mage or a flying mage, so I'll keep him and summer Elise.

So, who would want a blue cavalry mage who gets half-naked showing his ripped body when he's at half health with these stats: 34 HP, 28 Atk, 35 Spd, 22 Def, and 25 Res?

I already gave Distant Defense to Marx a while ago, and I don't really have anyone else that would particularly care for it (I don't use Camus, and my manaketes run TA or Fury).

What would Zero even run otherwise? I guess I could see an offensive a-slot skill like DB/Fury could work, but I want him to be a mage tank. Fortress Res could be really interesting (39 neutral res lol), but +atk Zero would only have 24 atk with the penalty. Distant Defense would at least help him tank mages better (40 res is dumb), help him not die to archers/dagger users, and increase the damage from Iceberg/Glacies.

I liked Zero a lot in Fates, and he's a pretty decent husbando, so I wouldn't mind building him, even if he's trash. I also plan on building Odin eventually, too, because he's like the best husbando in the game, even though I know he's one of the worst units in Heroes.

But I'm also afraid that after I give him Distant Defense, they'll release someone else that I want to build who would really want the skill, and I'd regret it. Maybe I'll just do it anyway idk

I actually forgot that I sacrificed another Celica to Marx for Distant Defense, so I actually pulled three of her during the TT banner. I somehow never pulled a Gray either.

-atk Tharja isn't bad. She was my sixth 5* unit ever, and she did well for the couple months I used her, even with a bad nature (she was +def -atk iirc; got a better nature one from the mage gauntlet). -atk isn't that bad on blade tome mages since they deal such ridiculous damage with buffs

tbh i'd use him regardless of stats. that damaged art is too juicy to not use. it's hard to decide between him and summer frederick for the better damaged art. bruno has the abs of steel, but frederick has THE BULGE

also, vantage built into a tome is pretty crazy. if he has a decent def stat, he could run a knock-off hector set with cc/qr/valaskjalf

Also, Bruno's voice is pretty good. Same voice actor as Cain and Navarre. I don't remember his Japanese voice, but apparently Miki Shinichiro only voices Bruno.
