Firstly, thank you, that's a hoard of useful information. I don't actually care about filler (in a bad way), it's fine as long has it isn't Bleach levels of bad. I just prefer the new colour palette and rewritten dialogue. Not to say Z doesn't have good dialogue ("To witness a power not seen for hundreds of years" is obviously better than "I'm going to wipe that disgusting smirk off your face") I just think it's more refined in Kai.
That's really interesting, you're the first person I've ever heard say anything like that. I haven't watched enough Kai to really judge it, but the tone seemed lighter which I didn't like as much. Then again I can only watch Goku run on Snake way so many times before I get bored.

You have been blessT and graceT by the 2nd coming of Zelda. Haha just kidding, she's too fast to be related to any form of Zelda!

But more importantly, a much needed repost for your safety:

I'm actually really happy about getting a perf Sonya cause I really love her art, though I originally just wanted a Leon and a better Sully, Stahl, or Freddy
I got a neutral Freddy in the same summon, though. It was just a really good time to summon I guess
And to think it was with free orbs. F2P isn't always hell :^)

Oh yeah, forgot about this. Cress! Cress! , there was some discussion going about Rauðrraven Sophia and why you'd use her over Lilina or Sanaki because they hit harder and stuff... Anyway, someone said it's because she can tank practically anything and that lead to this.
Uh... I think you meant to tag Burgundy. I don't use Sophia.

Oh... I couldn't remember who and I thought you wanted to use Sophia.

I think this is the second time I've mistaken you for something. First it was a whale and now it's a giraffe. :p

So... Burgundy Burgundy , would you use Sophia if she were that buff in her art?

Speaking of art, Sophia's Cipher cards' artwork makes her look extremely waifish and then there's her Heroes art which kind of makes her look dopey to me.

Hey bara is bara, so totally
But using Sophia was a short lived dream since I spent ages getting Sophia's with bad natures and got Celica, Sanaki, and Lilina while looking. Now my low-tier goal is the Rainbow of Innacuracy team

why do pokemon emerald and soulsilver have to be so expensive

they're both like $50 on amazon at minimum, and ebay isn't much cheaper

i already have heartgold, so soulsilver isn't that big of a deal, but i really want emerald cricricri

Persona kids, Persona squids.
From what I've played, there is quite a bunch of enemies so far and there's a ton of exposition and talking during cutscenes, I think it took me almost half an hour between the tutorial stage and the first stage just to get to the action because of the character introductions and exposition dumping.
Yeah, XSEED had some translation blog posts about that game during development; one of the big hurdles with it is that despite it's genre it has as much text as a JRPG.

That's really interesting, you're the first person I've ever heard say anything like that. I haven't watched enough Kai to really judge it, but the tone seemed lighter which I didn't like as much. Then again I can only watch Goku run on Snake way so many times before I get bored.
I don't think Eddie has watched enough Kai to make that judgement either, then he wouldn't need a way to watch it.

Chances are what your reaction to Kai was due to the music; funimation commissioned an entirely new score for DBZ when they were dubbing it. Abridging and messing with the colors wouldn't change the tone, but having an entirely different set of episode scores, character themes, and musical motifs definitely would. Most of the music in japanese DBZ could easily have gone into the original DB (and in the case of many character themes, was actually the same music from DB) which did have a much lighter tone.

i already have heartgold, so soulsilver isn't that big of a deal, but i really want emerald cricricri
To play on what, though? The GBA pokemon games are probably the most modded pokemon games there are. If you can play Doom on it, you can play a Firered or Emerald mod.

I just want the physical game to have and play, especially since I'll be going away to college soon

I know that I can use an emulator, but I'm not really into that kind of thing. I think the only time I've actually played a game on an emulator was the N64 version of Majora's Mask, but I only got to Snowhead before it froze, crashed, and then deleted my save data lol

Besides, I need more games for my GBA since I only have a couple and don't use it much

Emerald is my favorite version, tbh. Too bad it hasn't aged incredibly well. It aged better than the versions before it, ofc, but it's still not as fun. I guess the newer features and graphics spoiled me. ripripcricri

I feel the opposite way lol

I don't like most of the new features of the later games. Mega Evolution was the worst thing to ever happen to the series, the sprites are way better, and the Alola/Kalos regions aren't as good as the others imo.

The only newer things I care for are the ability to keep using repels without going into your bag and to use potions on Pokémon without having to click on the item each time you heal a Pokémon when not in battle.

Man, Emerald brings back so many memories. It and Firered were my favorite pastimes as a kid. I still have my original cartridges of both, from 13 years ago...**** man, 13 years! Even just a gif of May standing by the pond next to Rustboro makes me incredibly nostalgic. Specifically that cause I just saw it on tumblr, but I mean any gif of the game will kill me with nostalgia.. It makes me miss being so young and playing Emerald for days on end. I remember fighting Rayquaza, during a rainy day. We had just gotten back from the local fair. I remember telling my sisters and mom to be quiet so I cold focus on beating Drake, all while sitting in the shopping cart at Wal-mart...
I always have a hard time picking favorites, but Emerald is easily my pick for Pokemon Games

I can agree somewhat. As a concept and design, I loved the Megas, but in gameplay and competitive they just made the teams even more hyper focused than before. And while the new graphics in SuMo were incredible, there's just something lacking ever since they left the sprites behind. I really liked the concept of Z Moves over Mega's, since no longer is the core mechanic exclusive to a handful of the 800+ Pokémon.
As for the regions themselves, I really loved exploring Kalos and Alola, and I think they had great designs but Kalos was held back by a very weak story and post game. Alola wasn't very bad at all imo, and I hope USUM will expand even more on certain parts of the region lore

I never completed Pokémon emerald until a couple years ago. But I remember how badly 8 year old me wanted to capture that awesome dragon on the cover of Pokémon emerald. I had lent my copy to friend of mine but never got it back. Damn third graders.....

I was an idiot kid and couldn't even beat Brawly in Emerald lol
Types used to confuse me so much. I knew the Fire>Grass>Water>Fire triangle, but that was about it. Not even sure if I knew Fighting was SE against Normal oops. So for the most part, I just used whatever I wanted in every Pokemon game, even if my team had major weaknesses to important types.
I guess I still play like that though even though I know all the type interactions. I mean, my most viable competitive team is a mono-water team.

I can actually play Splat 2 now yay
This game has meaning for me now.
Edit: Well Trashboards is too awful to be able to link a single picture but they added the Inkbrush to Splat 2.

I had difficulty understand type advantages until I played Pokemon Stadium 2, where they helped noobs like us gorls become Pokemon Masters by getting the basics. I remember using the item-increase glitch from Pokemon Red/Blue and giving all my Pokemon tons of vitamins, unaware of how EVs worked. But back then that was more acceptable because of how stupid the move types were (Ghost/Poison = always physical, Grass/Water = always special, etc).

btw there is a game called Dream Daddy, brought to my attention (once again) by Gar's sister. There's also Super Health Club but she made a point to say "It's super lewd. Lewder than Coming Out On Top!" So now Gar is like "idk I might be too young for dis." Says the almost-30-year-old man.

Anyway, Dream Daddy is super awful. The jokes are so bad. But so bad-they're-good in a way. I'm not sure if I like it but Gar likes it because he is an old man and enjoys bad things I guess. Odear lord pls save me from this. So basically...

Mat is Lucio Dad. Just with extra puns and glasses. He even wears a flower crown at one point made by his daughter PRECIOUS BABY BOY ALERT. PLS DO A PROTEC. Runs a coffee shop with band-puns.

Hugo is every gorl's chance to date a slightly hunkier version of Neil D. Tyson. He is a smart big boi.

Brian is Papa Bear. The only Papa Bear for me is Brom from FE9/FE10 so I'll pass.

Robert is Drug Dad. I'm pretty sure he tried to be LEWD with us the moment we moved to the new house. brb calling 911.

Damien is a Goth Dad, but not a stereotypical edgy gothboy like Reaper or whatever. He's like a Victorian Vampire. He is kind of pretty I guess. Super polite. Gar surprisingly likes this guy because "It's like Edgeworth's secret-other-brother that got into theater instead of being a prosecutor like the other Von Karmas and I think I love him." I thought he'd like Jock Dad.

Craig is Jock Dad, but he is also super adorable because he does the whole I talk for my baby while waving their widdle hands around thing. Protect and bless this Jock Dad.

Joseph is Suburb White Dad, complete with drunkard wife and Delightful Children From Down The Lane. I would say PLS SAVE THIS MAN, but chances are he's a cult leader or someone who engages in a yearly Purge. He most likely deserves that fate. tbh I'm probably his wife IRL already. pls gib more booze and wine.

Overall it's not my kind of game. It's just not funny enough and has very little prompts for action so far. It does seem lengthy for a visual novel, but I don't think there's too many branching paths at first since the game shows you ALL the dads and then you can decide from there. I literally thought this would be a joke game though because srsly. Dream Daddy. wtf is happening to this world

I mean, if you're letting ANY weapon get that close up to you, you'd be dead anyways. It really wouldn't matter if it was a Splattershot, N-Zap, Roller, Splash-o-Matic, Aerospray, etc.

I downloaded Paladins the other day because it was free on the PS Store and I figured I might as well try it out

It's not the worst game ever

I don't like how only a few characters are unlocked when you start playing and you have to buy/unlock the others with currency, but a lot of MOBAs do that, so it's not like that's anything new. there might be a free hero rotation like there is in LOL, but i'm not 100% sure about that

However, a lot of characters/abilities are very obviously borrowed from overwatch

Like, there's a tank who uses an anchor to pull an enemy towards him and hit them with his slow-firing but powerful canon gun thing, a dragon who can fly in the air with his jetpack and shoots a rocket launcher, war vet who uses an assault rifle and has sprinting as one of his abilities, big guy in armor who deploys a blue rectangular shield for your team to hide behind, etc.

my personal favorite hero that i used was a widowmaker knockoff whose gun was a sniper/fully automatic rifle hybrid that also had the charged sniper shot gimmick. she had an escape ability kinda like widow's where she would throw a teleporter (it was like a bird thing and flew through the air in a straight line when thrown) and you'd teleport to its location after a second or two. headshots with the fully charged sniper shots did a ton of damage and she was very satisfying to play

i didn't like how all of the healers' healing abilities were tied to cooldowns, which meant you couldn't really heal that effectively. added on to that was that each healer (from what i saw anyway) only had a single ability that could heal (which was on a cooldown), and maybe even an ult that healed. the one free healer's only healing ability was a potion vial he'd throw and it would heal anyone who was caught in its radius when it lands. that was the only way he could heal himself and his team, and it was tied to a 7 second cooldown. he can only heal his teammates once every 7 seconds. that's just dumb and i don't understand why that's a thing in the first place.

some of the game modes were awfully done, too. in the hybrid mode (which is capturing a point and then pushing the payload; hybrid is the overwatch name for this game mode and idk what it's called in paladins), the first team to get 4 points wins. your team earns points by capturing the control point and successfully escorting the payload into the enemies' base. successfully preventing the enemy from delivering the payload does not earn you any points, meaning that if the enemy captures the control point before your team, then you're unable to get any points until after the other team either succeeds or fails at delivering the payload. this can lead to hybrid games lasting forever if your team doesn't capture the payload before the other one, but you stop them from delivering the payload. i did not enjoy playing this mode

the game is f2p, so i guess it had that going for it. it's not that bad of a game, but overwatch is far superior

I have no clue if people are inexperienced when it comes to handling brushes (the game's been out for 2 days tbf), or if I somehow got better in the transition from 1 to 2.
20170722_232227.jpg

Seriously, why am I splatting so many heauxs with this perfect creation oversized paintbrush.

I think I've only had 1 GAME where I had less than 10 splats using this thing.

Afternoon Jet Heel mains. How's everyone doing? :4zss:

Got up much later then I anticipated, but I do feel more refreshed. So that's good.

Also, I've found out about the Top 8 of Dreamhack Atlanta:

Winners:
VoiD :4sheik:/:4fox: vs. Larry Lurr :4fox:/:4dk:
Tweek :4cloud:/:4dk: vs. Salem :4bayonetta:

Losers:
ANTi :4cloud:/:4zss:/:4mario: vs. Mr. R :4sheik:
Dabuz :rosalina:/:4olimar: vs. Nairo :4zss:/:4bowser:

Nairo eliminated ZeRo before he could reach Top 8. :yeahboi:

I made it pass the 3rd Stage now in Fate/EXTELLA. Where they introduced the Side Missions, luckily I got all of them done except for Archer's/Nameless' since it required me to have over 150k Cash which I didn't have. But I did manage to get the best rank for each part of this stage instead of the 2nd Stage where I did alright.

I remember getting into competitive Pokémon one summer and studying all type advantages and disadvantages. I'm pretty sure I could still get them all right, but I may have a little trouble with fairy.

Fairy is SE against dark, dragon and fighting and NVE against steel and poison, and fairy types are immune to dragon

I've known most of the type advantages since I was little because Pokémon was basically my favorite series, but there are some type interactions that I get wrong. I always think ice is weak to ground for whatever reason, but it's just neutral to ground. That's the biggest mistake I tend to make, but I might confuse other things sometimes idk

I remember gen 1's instruction booklet mentioning dragon being weak to dragon, so I'd use Dragon Rage against dragons even though it always does 40, because "They're weak to it so I'm supposed to".

And how psychic was supposed to be weak to ghost, but it was actually immune to ghosts

Poison was SE to bug types, fire didn't resist ice, etc.

First gen type charts were weird

Fairy, like everything, is susceptible to fire.

Anything not susceptible to fire is unnatural and cannot be trusted to live. Beat it down till your fists bleed.

If it still yet breaths, it is a monstrosity and must be vaporized. Electrocute it to ash, it is the only way.

Works equally well when dealing with Pokemon type advantages, demons from hells, and aliens from among the stars.

Aww you guys are keeping SmashBoards this thread alive still, how nice. :secretkpop: Has anything worth noting happened lately? Any Fuujin appearances? Oh, and I've missed you guys! Life has just had me very busy and I'm working on trying to become a responsible adult. I still play when I can though.

As far as my recent gaming ventures go, I just beat NieR Automata and I've never been so shook before. That game is a work of art and had me in my feels the whole time. Honestly kind of sad it had to release around the same time as Persona 5 and Breath of the Wild, because it deserves more recognition.

Suck it up and jump in. It's the middle of the summer, and it's a beach in walking distance. It's not like it's Lake Michigan in the off season or anything.
Gorl you don't understand, it's consistently 40-50 degrees there all summer, and forget the temperature of the water itself. I will not allow an insolent peasant such as yourself to tell me to "suck it up" :secretkpop:
