Welp. I have finally done it gorls.

I have completed the Alola Dex in Sun.
I had to use the GTS to get a Wigglytuff and Whimsicott which I don't really mind doing. Since I didn't have a Sun Stone or Moon Stone to evolve my Jigglypuff and Cottonee.

Also, this is probably the third time I've ever completed a regional Pokedex. First time was the Sinnoh Dex in Platinum, then Unova's in White 2 and now Alola's.

Now I got the Shiny Charm, time for me to try and get myself some Shinies for VGC.

So I looked over some of my units.

You can basically assume that a 5* vs a 4* will have a weapon that has +4 Mt compared to the 4* weapon, and a passive ability / a better passive ability attached to it. 4* Jakob for instance debuffs -5def/res with his 4* weapon, and -7def/res with his 5*. Peri's 4* weapon already has it's passive ability, so the 5* weapon just adds +4 Mt to it. Eiliwood doesn't gain his weapon's passive ability until 5*, and has a +5 Mt jump between 4* and 5*.

Secondly, one of the (typically) two skills your character can learn has one of them completely available and one of them with the strongest version of it 5* exclusive, however it's character dependent whether it's anything that matters. Peri for example can max out her really nice "Threaten Defense" skill as a 4*, while the 5* exclusive skill is just Resistance +3, not even worth the SP you would need to unlock it compared to just stopping at Resistance +2. Same thing for Setsuna; can max out BowBreaker as a 4*, misses out on HP +5. Matthew needs to be 5* to max out Poison Strike, but Saizo only needs to be 4*.

Special defensive and offensive abilities (the Green and Purple stuff) all seem to max out by 4*.

So it seems for the most part, other than apparently unlocking more lines of dialogue, there's little reason to waste the materials on a 4* to 5* unlock for some characters.

The Superbowl was crazy this year. I mean, don't get me wrong, the Patriots winning isn't anything new, but coming back from a 25 point deficit and winning in OT was not how anyone could have expected that game to play out.

So we're playing a Bo5 game and our main DPS was Tracer and Junkrat (eww). I'm playing DVa with decent success, but my DPS are getting obliterated by Pharah and we go down 2-0. I'm politely asking for one of them to play hitscan to deal with pharah. After many minutes of ignoring me. Tracer finally switches to Reaper.

R E A P E R.

So I just say "screw it. We're running triple DPS then. I'm going soldier." I play soldier and do my job. we run it back to 2-2. One of the enemy team members leave. I'm thinking to myself "great, there's no way we can lose now"

I forgot I was in ELO Hell tho.

The junkrat decides to get with the program and play DVa. But the guy seriously had no idea how to "tank". He sat on the high ground of Illios and peppered the enemy team with trash damage instead of actively engaging them. The enemy team is like "well ok then!" and just ignore DVa and pin us down. "I keep telling the DVa "stop trying to be a sniper, ur not Widow" but he literally never moved from that ledge. We lose.

I throw my laptop off the balcony THE END.

I think it's around 7~8 minutes per roll if you're gathering enough gems to 5x, since that requires doing the three prologue fights

it's probably at least half that if you just skip those and go with...I forget if you have enough gems to roll 3 characters or 4 straight out of the tutorial

You get 15 from the tutorial and if you grab the 2 bonus orbs for the launch then its enough for 4 rolls.

I got a 5 star Jacob and Azura, and I WAS going for Azura, but she was like the "if I had to get one, it'd be fine" type of character. Which I got on my first try because I didn't know about rerolls until I was already almost done the game. lol

I found it more efficient to just do 4 rolls instead of going for 5 at at time.

I think you have better chances of betting a popular character if you do more consecutive rolls though. Earlier today I got Robin as my 5th roll, in fact. But then again, I think it also resets when you get that rare character. I don't remember all the details. Still though, 5 rolls is best because you can't really grind for orbs.

You can also grab 10 orbs free from Club Nintendo, so that actually means you can get over 20 orbs by the time you're finished with the tutorial.

Damn it all. Got 3 repeats; 4* Hana, 4* Roy, and 3* Virion. At least Hana is 1 star higher than the original one, but she ended up getting RNG-screwed with her resistance while leveling up; Roy's the same BS, but at least I can merge him with the same rarity Roy I had; and I screwed up merging with Virion who was my guinea pig. Hey, at least I have a 3*+ Virion... I went from having a 2* Virion, a 1* Virion from the special map, merging them, ranking up 2* Virion to 3*, getting a 3* Virion, merging them because why not...

Newbies? 4-Star Jeorge and 3-Star Subaki. Jeorge is freaking amazing. Compared to Virion, he's pretty much the opposite; low defense, but high resistance compared to Virion and overall useful since he hits hard and was fast enough right off the bat to double everything. Virion was only useful for chip damage, speed debuffs, and being a meat shield outside of being an anti-air unit. I love Virion and his antics, but he, like in Awakening, was only decent at best and a niche unit. Subaki... Eh. He's more well-rounded than Est at the cost of having curiously low resistance for a Pegasus Knight -- he kind of makes this up with resistance up skills. Also, his voice is really nasally.

Basically, 1/5 summons are useful, 1/5 are average at best to me, and 3/5 are repeats of which 2 are outright useless to me while 1 is somewhat useful except had I had enough badges, I could have already had a 4* Hana which would have lead to the same situation Virion is in -- pissing me off because of wasted resources. The Roy I had before summoning can be promoted, but I need 20,000 feathers and all that nonsense since he's a 4*.

I just want Selena/Severa or Cherche, Cordelia, Eliwood, Felicia, Frederick, Gaius, Hector, Henry, Hinoka, Kagero, Lissa, Lon'qu, Lyn, Oboro, Odin/Owain, Olivia, Raven, Setsuna, Stahl, Sully, and Tharja. Is that so much to ask? Game's like nah, brah, can't have that. You want 1 character and would be okay with 21 other characters, but we're gonna give you 3 characters you already have on top of the previous repeat of Matthew. There's like a hundred characters in this game. I had almost a quarter of a chance of getting someone I wanted, but nope. Also, I have no cavalry; the closest I got is Cecilia whose speed is atrocious by the way. Well, 17 more orbs later and let's see how angry I'll get again.

TL;DR: I hate RNG, random chances, and lottery systems.

Maybe I should re-roll and treat my current save as a test since I did not know that if you summoned all 5, it would cost less, still don't know how merging works entirely, and the only character I would lose that I actually like from all the damned summons is Serra. Jeorge is amazing and all and so are Fir, Hana, Gwendolyn, and Nino, but I'm just neutral with them. All that would be wasted would be time. I swear if I re-roll and end up with a loli dragon army.

Edit: Never mind, merging is pretty simple and straight forward... Also, I really want Selena... Boop. Dead save.

Just did another round of summons about an hour ago and finally got some healers! 2 Serras (1 with 3 's and 1 with 4 's) and a 4 Sakura. So now I can really become a Sakura main. Other 2 summons were a 3 Gaius and (another) 3 Hana. So basically colorless overkill but I wanted a healer and I got what I wanted. I'm happy. It was worth it.

Still not happy about my 6 VIRIONS GAME I DON'T WANT THIS MAN IN MY LIFE. AND NOW 4 HANAS. YOU CAN STOP NOW PLEASE.
Oh yeah and I still don't have a 5 star character yet but all of my 4 stars are still carrying their weight really well so I don't really think it's a big deal.

Oh yeah so the Arena's week ended and I got 800 feathers from my pretty decent offense score. Got absolutely no points for defense which is strange because I've definitely had strangers battle me and send friend requests so it's hard to imagine I didn't get even a single point there SOMEHOW.

I got Physic for my Maria and was all excited...then found out the english description was mistranslated and it's still actually a single target heal.

now I'm sad because she doesn't offer much supportively beyond clicking the heal button and I could've worked on Lissa or Clarine instead

but on the other hand, my 4* Maria's gotten so many good levelups, she has more atk than my 4* f!corrin and is on pace to tie with my 5* Camilla despite being a healer

rng stats layered on rng character acquisition was a mistake

Playing FE Heroes was a mistake for me. Obsessively trying to get Selena and at least someone else I like. Last roll had 5* Camilla -- dude, her speed skill is OP-looking -- and 3* repeats of old save's Hana and Nino plus F!Corrin and Sully. The two before that had both Gunther and Wrys show up. Wrys's art looks really creepy.

BTW gorls, re-rolling with Nox emulator is super fast and easy. I've been playing Berseria and watching stuff, tabbing every 3-5 minutes, so I can reroll. Nox has a built in macro that runs on Nox's interface so I pretty much skip all the lame stuff. It only takes about 2-3 minutes to reroll with the emulator. Bess thing ever. Now gimme husbando Hector, pls.

Also, why are most of the guys, like, super hot in this? Even Draug is basically green haired Gatrie and is capable of being a husbando now.
