I got one victory, there are instructions at the Arena's Info tab.
It says that your team at the leftmost slot will be set as a defender, and I guess it will be randomly drawn off the pool of players worldwide and be shown to others when they select the Battle option; if they lose against your team (AI controlled), you'll win defense points.
This all is only how I imagine it is.
Also, the game thinks I like Niles, but I am glad somebody received Est as my representative <3
Valentines Day event in Poké Go! I always love these things, though it's a shame I need an event to bring me back around
Anyways, details:
- Lasts from 7 PM EST today until 7 PM EST on February 15th
- All candy gained will be doubled
- Chansey, Clefable, and other Pink Pokémon will be more common in the wild
- Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Smoochum will be more likely to hatch from eggs collected during the event
- Lure Modules last for 6 hours

there are 5 levels per chapter, 9 chapters, and 3 difficulties, so that amounts to 135 levels
how have you already almost beaten all of them

Welp, Despair re-roll got Lon'qu, Jagen, Laszlow, Odin, and Selena in that order. 3 sword units, the Awakening kids in Fates hodgepodge, and all 3* units. Selena's there, but... Cordy, Cherche, and Setsuna...

I have 33 levels left to do (8 in hard, 25 in Lunatic)
That's only enough for 1 summon session, with 13 orbs leftover
I know they'll give us more ways to get orbs for free but 2 orbs a day is incredibly slow.
I guess that's the point though, to get me to buy orbs. I'm not that dedicated to the game though.
I just wish I could get Robin :C

Screwed up and forgot to name the following re-roll "Disappointed". Regardless, was disappointed and the re-roll after that, the real "Disappointed" re-roll. Well... I'll let Hercules take this one.
Now, onto "Desperate".
On another note, I swear I heard the name "Utada Hikaru" on the radio which is the university's I think and while they do have a Spinitron playlist so you can look up the songs and artists -- got introduced to Taeko Ohnuki which lead to being introduced to Miki Matsubara and M83's Go! feat. Mai Lan is wicked --, the playlist isn't showing her or anything that would seem like a Japanese song. There's a gap in time -- about 20-ish minutes -- between the two listed sections. Oh well, listening through Utada's recent songs to see if I can recognize them. Even if what I heard wasn't her, Utada's music is still amazing.
Edit: I hate Raigh. Desperate failed / I'm being hella picky since Eliwood and Felicia showed up with Selena, but Raigh had to show up.
Edit 2: Edit Harder: Apparently Utada covered Edith Piaf's "Hymne à l'amour" and also did a song for Evangelion, "Sakura Nagashi". Neat. Also, I kind of want to call Anna "Mittens" now.
Edit 3: With a Vengeance: First time summoning Frederick. Don't remember him when I went through Awakening's first chapter in Heroes, but apparently he's an axe user which seems to be a thing since his artwork for Cipher -- a FE trading card game? -- has him holding an axe. Weirdly, in-game stats in Awakening had him favoring lances while concept art had him with a sword. Eh, you be you, Pebbles. I'm starting to get the feeling that characters who were Great Knights are all axe users in Heroes. Also, thanks, Hinata for ruining what could have been a roll that I would have kept; Cordy, Felicia, Frederick, Gunther, and Selena would have been great, but nooo, you had to show up. If only I could sic Frederick on you and make you pick a god and pray he doesn't maul you. And so, "Stupid" re-roll has ended.
Edit 4: Live Free or Edit Hard: Oh my Din, Hawkeye is a total gar. He is man personified. And his voice! Damn. As a character, I remember that he was really tanky at least in HP in Blazing Sword. Hmm, I wonder if his daughter, Igrene, is in the game. Eh, check later. And so, the re-rolls continue. I should have kept the Lazlow, Odin, Selena roll... Or the one where Raigh had to show up. Also, Beruka is tiny.

Finally rolled something good. Like, probably really good? I had 2 blues/3 reds and was like "wtf variety pls" and got a 5* Robin AND Nowi, along with 4* Marth, and 3* Eliwood/Some lame flier gorl. So those last 2 can be feather fodder. I really was hoping for Hector but... Not happening. I was hoping to have 2 5* units from different categories, but having Nowi and Robin is pretty good... I think... Well, not really, because both use magic. So I should probably just reroll again.
I have been doing this thing on 3 different computers courtesy of my guyfriend. Gorlfriend? Whatever. He also has a clicker thing for counting stuff. GUESS WHAT MY COUNTER IS AT?

Literally 488 rerolls without Hector, Leo, Ryoma, Hinoka, or even Sakura. I did get Elise once, and ofc Camilla every 20 or so rolls. So randomness aside, I can conclude that trying to get a 5 star Hero who is not a Focus Hero is a waste. OFC a guy spent 1000 dollars on the game and didn't get all the units he wanted. I hope they put in trading at some point, but make it cost orbs to perform the trade since they'd want something that could still potentially net them money.
But at least I saw this today, so I don't feel as rageful and salty as I should atm.
turns out my phone can run fire emblem heroes but not pokemon go. I got no 5 stars in 3 pulls and dowloading is a ***** so i just gritted my teeth and went Heroes definitely isn't bad. Or at least it's a lot less abusive than Pokemon shuffle...granted i pulled all 3 stars when i grinded to 20 orbs again sooooooooo.

I've finally managed to pre-order a Nintendo Switch gorls.
The shop I went to had pre-orders available and I could ask for what accessories I could get with it too. I just asked for the Charge Grip and Breath of the Wild Standard Edition. As much as I'd love to get the Masters Edition, I don't think I have any room for it on my shelves and I think I'm better off with the standard edition instead.
Hopefully I can get Sonic Mania and Disgaea 5 Complete when they come out too.

Also there's my team up top. Planned on replacing Cecilia with Sakura, but it's been kinda annoying to level her up and Cecilia is still reliable so I'm just gonna stick with her for now. I also have enough junk to get Gunter's 4th star but I think I'll wait and try to use the feathers to get someone else to 5 stars first (most likely Oboro).
Side note: Nowi and Robin are a tad over-rated. IDK. I'm just not having as much fun with them as I did Azura and Marth. Prolly 'cause Azura is all "dance dem to deff lel" and Marth is pretty. Still no sign of Hector. Which is very absurd.

So, because of my rolls leaving me with a 4* Nino as my only theoretical anti-armor unit, I'm gonna have to grind and see how an overpowered Roy fares.

Lissa's all right. Between her and Serra, Lissa is more of an independent healer who can sustain herself as she has Renewal and Reconcile and Rehabilitate which heals her and her patient while Serra is more of a dependent healer who buffs others through Hone Attack and while her healing spells are stronger, she cannot heal herself at all -- you need to keep her away from combat which isn't saying much when my Serra had pretty good defensive stats. Their styles do fit their personalities. Lissa is definitely not delicate which seems to be the case when she can self-heal and her defensive stats are pretty good while Serra to not spoil much about her back story: Serra's essentially the precursor to Charlotte in Fates.
Healers in general are good in Heroes, especially for singleplayer. So, any of them can work. I say this despite having thrown away a 5* Sakura because Selena wasn't part of that roll. For PvP, it's going to depend. I figure someone like Azama might be more useful as he has offensive capabilities through the Pain spell.
Talking about Lissa, Serra, and healers made me realize that neither Libra or Lucius are in the game. No bishie traps... Shame. Meanwhile, hunk of a fanservice Hawkeye strutting about in his muscled, MANLY glory and Camilla. Do I need to say anything about Camilla?

I've said this a couple of times, but for me, Roy was a glass cannon; both 4* Roys in my first save I got were pretty glass cannon-y, especially the first one while the second had better defense and resistance gains. There's also the issue of he doesn't have Armorslayer or an equivalent and if you have Triangle Adept equipped, he's going to be extra screwed against lance knights.
In my first save, I had a 3* Nino and 2 Hana (3* and 4*) as anti-armors, except Hana is not built to go up against knights -- she's strong, but she's not durable like a fighter or knight, so she'll end up going on suicide runs against knights -- and Nino's a specific mage -- don't remember --, so she won't be as effective against others like Odin (blue) or Tharja (red?). Also Gwendolyn (3*) to tank some knights.
Decided to deal with what I got if I summoned Selena because I don't want to deal with the madness that is re-rolling anymore. The results were 4* Bartre, Lissa, Raven, and Selena, and 3* Cecilia. Neat, 2 characters I like in additional to Selena.
Short ones: Bartre is a boisterous Zangief-Ryu. Classic fighter unit and a definite welcome since Anna's a mage masher. Coming with a hammer by default as a 4* is awesome for fighting knights. The only problem is as a fighter, his resistance sucks. Also, Bartre's speed was said to be low in Blazing Sword which is probably the case in Heroes... Sadly, his speed is higher than Alfonse. What even is you, Alfonse? Lissa's good as I said and Cecilia I already used in my first file, but not as a much since she was summoned when Nino was a much higher level. That and I find green mages not as useful as red mages which I think Nino was alongside Raigh who I stubbornly pretend doesn't exist. Whatever, she's my only cavalry unit so that's useful.
This roll last night was the first time I ever summoned Raven and he's a 4*. So, I checked his voice and he's voiced by Bryce Papenbrook. When I think of Raven before playing this game, I imagined a gruff, deep voice to fit his aloof, loner, anti-hero archetype. Bryce's voice is high-pitched which I didn't like at first for Raven, especially for his spoken lines if you poke him. In combat, he sounds much better and reminded me of Zuko who had a high-pitched voice through Dante Basco. I think that's what the VA directors were going for as Raven and Zuko are similar character archetypes. Also, the game explains why he uses axes; something about as he's getting stronger, he finds axes more fitting. This is ironic as Raven does not like Hector or the Ostia family, so he seeks revenge against Hector. Raven starts out as a sword-wielding mercenary and would be at a weapon advantage against Hector. Now, he's using and favoring axes, the weapon of choice of his enemy. If you think about it, Raven was driven by negative emotions and if you consider him casting aside his sword as casting away his hatred and taking up axes and trying to be driven by more positive emotions, it's kind of like what happens to Zuko who finds himself at a lost when he cannot use rage and hate to fuel his Firebending, but becomes stronger when he uses more positive emotions by seeing fire and Firebending as a symbol of life rather than destruction.
Anyway, as a unit, he's the first +4* unit to come with a Brave weapon to not have 0 or atrocious speed that I've summoned. With it equipped by default, Raven's speed was 5; Brave weapons have a -5 speed penalty. Dude is fast and as a mercenary who uses axes, he's also well-balanced. I ended up taking the Brave Axe off and had him use a Steel Axe since his speed is more than enough to naturally double without a penalty to his speed and without needing to attack first. Yesterday, he had 17 speed when he was level 10-11 while Selena's is 14. I think Raven's one of my strongest overall units alongside Selana and Sharena who got RNG-screwed in resistance for this file. The only problem is that one, he has a Brave weapon which without being a high enough level to have high enough speed, it's hurting him, so he can't benefit from it yet.
Selena is a monster. Then again, my only comparisons to her is underwhelming as hell Alfonse, all-around Fir, pretty good, but glass cannon Hana, and glass cannon, but felt like a paper cannon Roy. Meanwhile, the 7 or so 5* Lyns who cry in re-roll Hell. Fir's the closest, but she was a 3* and her skill set is different; pretty sure Fir is overall faster. Hana is specialized as her skill set makes her independently strong, but also implies a gamble, all-in or nothing that has gotten her killed several times. Roy's skill set comes close and while he wasn't that great to me -- second 4* Roy was promising --, which leads me to feel that Selena's problem is that she is a poor man's sword-wielding lord and lady which means she does not have access to unique skills, a legendary weapon, and while her growths and stats are good, they're probably not going to be good as M!Corrin, Lucina, and Roy and maybe Chrom -- doesn't he have bad resistance? -- and Marth -- not sure what his stats are like. Raven might be in a similar situation compared to Hector, but it's Hector and I think Hector's classified as a knight, so his movement is slower and he would suffer against anti-armor weapons. Regardless, it's Selena, the character I wanted to most and she's a 4*, so yippee! Now, if only I could get loopy Setsuna who looks like an awesome archer with anti-archer and anti-thief skills.
From what I remember, Wind Waker's introduction said something about the hero not returning and I think the goddesses chose to flood Hyrule because nobody was able to stop Ganon. So, maybe before Wind Waker, but there's some issues like for one the Zora still exist and exist alongside the Rito -- you'd figure the goddesses would transform all of them -- and to me, the Zora kind of look like they're from Twilight Princess which is probably just art evolution. I don't think it takes place after WW considering the Master Sword probably would not be in the Lost Woods, but in Ganon's head. After Twilight Princess is a possibility, but there's another problem: Koroks.
My stupid crackpot theory is that it's merged timeline of WW and TP and both Ganon (WW) and Ganondorf (TP) exist with Ganondorf or what was left of him after he died in TP being Calamity Ganon. TP Ganondorf was enraged and drive by hatred while being an incarnation of Demise's hatred. It's hatred upon hatred and now he's an eldritch monster destroying and killing everything. What about WW Ganon? He's the old man. Stripped of his powers (by Calamity Ganon), freed from Demise's influence, and traumatized by having watched the world, Hyrule, being destroyed multiple times, he lives in seclusion as a hermit cursed with a long life until he sees him again: Link. Dude's neutral, but hella against Calamity Ganon, so might as well help Link to destroy it. I mean, what else is he going to do? Roast more apples and random meat to eat?
Unrelated to all of this: unsurprisingly as there were leaks and datamined evidence, Kolin / Helen was revealed to be SFV's second S2 character. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGHGrp6KNag.
Capcom did said all of the S2 characters would be new (after) Akuma and now we have Kolin. Technically, she never appeared as a fighter like Decapre who appeared in comics? before making an appearance in USFIV. A problem is that she's technically in the game which could be said for Decapre who can be argued as a remodeled and altered Cammy. For Decapre, it makes sense considering who she is, but Kolin is basically important story NPC turned into a fighter. Efficient and cheap to reuse assets which people are understandably disappointed about as they were expecting a "new character" like whoever Eisbahn is. One last problem is more of a visual problem: Kolin looks fine, but she has two models: story and fighter. Her default fighter model as Helen -- Kolin herself is a nostalgia costume and that look doesn't appear until the ending of SFV's story mode -- looks like an updated, improved, and altered version of her story model. Her fighter face noticeably different from her story face. So, it kind of clashes and might confuse people who see Helen in SFV's story and other screenshots and then see her a fighter who looks different and better-looking. Hopefully the developers just replace story Helen with fighter Helen to keep it consistent, but that might not work if fighter Helen is rigged differently.
The thing is that considering SFV is set before SFIII and Kolin is arguably important to SFIII's story, it would make sense for characters important to SFIII or will be important somehow through setup in SFV to be in SFV either as a NPC or fighter or even "upgraded" as a fighter. Outside of Gill who should show up maybe in the final seasons of SFV, Kolin seems to be the only character who is an "upgrade". For some, this sucks since it might feel like she's getting shoehorned in as a fighter and players could have gotten someone more interesting and new. The only other character who is from SFIII that is in the game, but isn't playable yet is Necro and his girlfriend? Necro would just be a veteran and speaking of which, it would be neat if all or most of S3's characters were SFIII veterans. Alex's mentor is a literal veteran and it would be cool to see how his mentor fights.
Now, as a character, she looks cool -- pun intended. Ice rekka character who can zone from what the leaks said. Haven't read up info on her yet. It's ironic considering rekka means fire and referred to Fei Long's Rekkaken and Kolin has ice powers. It's also ironic since she has access to her rekka at all times unlike Karin who cannot use hers without activating V-Trigger. Kolin's trailer also showed her using throws and submissions that remind me of sambo, a Russian martial art created by combining boxing, judo, wrestling, and other martial arts. What is special about sambo is that there are leg locks which other grappling arts do, but maybe don't emphasize or aren't associated with. For one, Chinese sanda / sanshou has a throw where you "grab" with your legs. Leg locks and leg throws aren't uncommon in SF; Cammy, Chun-Li?, Juri, and others have them, but Kolin's Russian and sambo's a Russian martial art, so it connects for me. Other stuff is that her back fist attack reminds me of Bryan Fury who has a common combo using a back fist and she has this rapid punch / stab thing that reminds me of Clark Still for some reason -- probably because they're both character who grapple as a part of their fighting and play style -- which it should remind me of something else... Dante has a similar move with Lucifer in DMC4. Costumes were shown, alongside her actual Kolin look labeled as her nostalgia outfit, her story costume -- the one you get from beating her own story -- looks cute with the scarf and actually not stupid when she's wearing leggings or pants instead of just thigh high boots -- I know you're Russian, but it's still freaking cold -- and this Splinter Cell Cammy-ish outfit.
Anyway, I kind of want to play her and my opinions on her shifted from, well, she's probably a thing when she was speculated, leaked, whatever to she looks pretty awesome.

Got up a bit late, but I had my brunch anyway. And I'm still reading through the first chapter of Book 4 that the course asks me to do. Also, tomorrow I'll be going to one of the campuses which will last around 3 hours from 11:30am - 2:30pm. Thankfully, its not too far this time.

A 5* Roy has better defenses than actual glass cannons, which isn't really saying much I know, but that does means he's still my best defensive unit. I'm reasonably sure his binding blade adds like +2 Def/Res when in combat or something, for how little that helps.
A Hector or Effie or just something that can actually defend a bottleneck from physical attacks is something I just don't have.
From what I remember, Wind Waker's introduction said something about the hero not returning and I think the goddesses chose to flood Hyrule because nobody was able to stop Ganon. So, maybe before Wind Waker, but there's some issues like for one the Zora still exist and exist alongside the Rito -- you'd figure the goddesses would transform all of them -- and to me, the Zora kind of look like they're from Twilight Princess which is probably just art evolution. I don't think it takes place after WW considering the Master Sword probably would not be in the Lost Woods, but in Ganon's head. After Twilight Princess is a possibility, but there's another problem: Koroks.
To be fair, any game that doesn't predate OoT has to be after it considering it's OoT that splits the timeline into three so he's not actually saying anything we didn't already know from the first trailer, what with Koroks and the Bridge of Eldin being there. But Ganon is also only in the Failed Timeline, it's Ganondorf constantly coming back in the others...
But then we have Red Zoras instead of blue or green which still doesn't make any sense to me along with the Rito actually being humanoid birds. It's possible it's still Red Bull a magical artifact that gives them wings, but I'm doubting it.
If it wasn't due to ALBW pretty definitively being the start of the Gold Age and showing the landscape is pretty much identical to how it was in LttP, I'd have put BotW there to explain away all the evolution and architectural constructs that just shouldn't be there and assume Link just ended up sleeping a whole lot longer than we thought he did before waking up the Wind Fish.
My stupid crackpot theory is that it's merged timeline of WW and TP and both Ganon (WW) and Ganondorf (TP) exist with Ganondorf or what was left of him after he died in TP being Calamity Ganon. TP Ganondorf was enraged and drive by hatred while being an incarnation of Demise's hatred. It's hatred upon hatred and now he's an eldritch monster destroying and killing everything. What about WW Ganon? He's the old man. Stripped of his powers (by Calamity Ganon), freed from Demise's influence, and traumatized by having watched the world, Hyrule, being destroyed multiple times, he lives in seclusion as a hermit cursed with a long life until he sees him again: Link. Dude's neutral, but hella against Calamity Ganon, so might as well help Link to destroy it. I mean, what else is he going to do? Roast more apples and random meat to eat?
Eh. I'm against plot ideas that remove all agency from Ganondorf as his own established character. Besides, everyone knows the incarnation of Demise's hatred isn't Ganon, it's the Cucco race. How else do you think hitting one of them, regardless of where you are, suddenly gets you swarmed by a legion of them that could not possibly have been there beforehand if not via demonic summoning?
And...who is Link in this theory, then? It's reasonably clear we're supposed to know this particular Link from a previous game set 100 years beforehand.
Honestly, this may be another branched timeline. All I can really say for sure is trying to figure out where it actually goes simultaneously make my head hurt and make me really, really want to just get the game at retail and play it after I finish this quarter of classes.
I've just finished Episode 10 of Diamond is Unbreakable.
At first, I thought Tonio was going to be an evil Stand User that would use his victims in his recipes. But to find out that he's so friendly and wants to help those out with his cooking and Stand "Pearl Jam" was such a nice breath of fresh air to be honest.
I wouldn't mind trying out some of his meals myself.
I have no idea what project you could possibly be doing that could be turned into a dating sim in four hours, but all you should have to do is change a few boolean values to make sure his waifu will never love him.
