Phones aren't able to take over my life because videogames already have.
But my phone is an outdated piece of garbage that isn't compatible with Pokemon Go, so I'll have to live without.

...I might start lurking here now that I'm following the thread. You guys and girls seem like a cool enough bunch.

I think I need some help, since I don't know which character to have change class, and to which one too.

Since I've managed to get some of the older, weaker weapons, but they contain one new skill that I can unlock.

As for my party members...

Huh... Zelda's air acceleration was nerfed from Brawl. Seems that way with her Brawl .pac file. Brawl Zelda's air acceleration was 0.09 while her Smash 4's is 0.055. Okay, I get that maybe she shouldn't have high air acceleration because it would be "abusive" with her Bair and Fair, but to drop her below average is kind of... mean. Then again, her landing lag changes were pretty mean too like Nair going from Melee's 18 to Brawl's 12 to launch Smash 4's 22 -- thankfully, 1.0.8 dropped it to 19... when it almost power creeped her Nair with Falco's. Well, at least her air speed was increased from Brawl's 0.987 to Smash 4's 1.04. Also, her dash speed was upped from 1.25 to 1.6 in Smash 4.

... I really should just make a spreadsheet for all the Brawl movement attributes since it kind of pisses me off to not be able to find all this information easily or they were ignored or something...

Class change gives you new weapons. Also, you only need to be in that promoted class once to have all the new weapons, even if you switch to the other class you keep the old class weapons.

Fair enough. So I can just easily change to another class? That's neat, I'm also concerned on what class I should change to for each character though. Which ones would you highly recommend I stick with?

I only tried one of each. Depends on what you want from each since they have different stats. I pick Conqueror Chrom because just look at him.

Fair enough. I was just concerned due to the stats, since I was thinking which would benefit me the most.

Also, I ran into the Rare Enemy Encounter for Illusory Daito Studio. Didn't even dent it. :V

In her defense, there was a mostly universal increased in landing lag from Brawl to Smash 4 (though, I will say her landing lag nerfs were to much).

What?

Little rant here, but why is G&W the only Brawl vet and one of only two returning character in general (the other being Dr. Mario, which is somewhat understandable) to have his dashing speed decreased during the transition to Smash 4?

I'm quite sure this does not refer to her overall run speed (which is 1.3 and should not have been altered any important amount since Brawl)

Dash speed probably refers to the speed of her initial "burst start" at the beginning of her running. I mean, Ffamran could confirm this second claim by me better than I could.

Checking little, I can confirm what you said is true. Thanks for the clarification. :yoshimelee:

Let's be honest with out tripping everyone is faster

lol people are crying that this "untechable knockdown" descovery is a worse design than tripping.

The whole principle of tripping was luck. You couldn't play the game without dashing for goodness sake. This particular instance requires the victim to be at around 90%+ and involves someone actually hitting with an attack from a seemingly very exclusive pool of moves, for a 25% chance where if you don't get that hitstun, you are probably getting nothing.

Sure the potential reward of this rare success is great, but as a design it is nowhere near being like tripping.

It is really weird that you can't tech this animation though tbh. It's the kind of thing I'd see possibly getting patched out if that was still happening.

True, but Smash 4, in my opinion, went overboard with increasing landing lag that Brawl had decreased from Melee. Ignoring L-cancel in Melee, Melee's landing lag was fine. With L-cancel, it has low landing lag since everything pretty much gets cut in half. Brawl removed L-canceling, but also lowered landing lag in general for some reason since it also lowered falling speed and gravity. There were some weird stuff like Falco's Fair having 33 landing frames. In Smash 4, landing lag was increased over Melee's normal and Brawl's low landing lag. Some stuff doesn't even make sense like Sonic's Bair having 30 landing frames. It's strong, sure, but it's slow. What the hell is Sonic going to do with his Bair? At least it auto-cancels... Still, really? 30? It's basically Bayonetta, Fox, Samus, and ZSS's Bair and they have about 15 landing frames. The characters who weren't as affected or have Brawl-esque landing lag, yeah, those characters' low landing lag are noticeable like Captain Falcon, Cloud, Ryu, and ZSS. Ryu at least has an argument since landing lag kind of doesn't exist in Street Fighter.

Also, like BJN39 said, dash is not the same as run. I blame a lot of things that call dash the same thing as run. It doesn't help that both wikis consider them the same thing, but they do mention that dash happens before run. Most characters tend to have a dash speed that is the same or close to their run speed like Mario, but some don't like Falco's dash speed is 1.9 and has been since Melee as it was the same as Fox's at the time, but his run speed was always lower at 1.5 in Melee, 1.432 in Brawl, and 1.472 in Smash 4. Falco's dash is good as a very short form of burst movement, but his sustained movement was at best, average in Melee and at worst, terrible in Smash 4. Star Fox characters tend to have this trait where their dashes are high, but their run speeds differ; Wolf's is like Falco's, but he's slower in both dash, at 1.7, and run, at 1.4, while Fox's is a bit weird. Fox started with a slower dash than his run in Melee, 1.9 dash and 2.2 run, but recent games had him with faster dash and slower run; Brawl's is a 2.1 dash and a 2.08 run and Smash 4's the insane 2.4 dash, the highest in the game, and a 2.184 run speed. Fox not only has a fast burst movement, but also a fast sustained movement. I'd argue he has the best ground movement in the game followed by Little Mac who has a faster run speed than Fox at 2.24, but a slower dash speed at 2.05. Their high dash speeds might also explain why their perfect pivots are good and in Fox's case, his 2.4 dash speed probably explains why his dash options, especially dash Up Smash out of shield, are so damn good. Posted way back and needs to be updated with the DLC characters: http://smashboards.com/threads/smash-4-running-walking-speed-rankings.371564/page-2#post-18647333.

Basic movement stats are talked about all the time, but there are times where more intricate ones like dash speed, air acceleration and deceleration, etc., aren't talked about or if they are, it's through inferring instead of through evidence which we freaking have and can always ask for or data dump. I mean, it's great people know that Brawl Wolf's air speed is so good, but maybe considering his above-average, 0.08 air acceleration would be helpful as well. Before 1.0.8 Falco, there was Brawl Wolf who was the only Star Fox character to have a high air acceleration. Ironic when you consider Star Fox's ace pilot was the one who got in first over the also skilled, but antagonistic Star Wolf leader, but it was the Star Wolf leader who showed up with better air control over Star Fox's ace.

On Zelda, her high, well, average I guess since it's only 1.6 which is an average, Mario run speed, is probably why her dash or foxtrot -- I hate this term since dash means the same damn thing -- is good.

I might... actually, out of pure frustration, will probably record down all of Brawl's movement stats and slap them somewhere. Why? Well, it's kind of nice to be able to see them all without having to go through them individually in PSA for easier comparisons and also, it would be nice for people to not be all like, "DERIKDNKhf Marth is so slow in Smash 4 drehodhk", when in reality, he's pretty much the same in Brawl Smash 4. Freaking Marth's low walk acceleration has apparently been a thing since Melee and has been a trait all -- unknown about Corrin and Roy who I have a suspicion that Roy's walk acceleration is high instead of the everyone's 0.1 or his initial walk speed is higher than everyone's -- the Fire Emblem characters have (and harmed them).

Gorls, help. My friends are dragging me to Six Flags on Friday and I'm sCARED.

I'm terrified of big rides. I went a couple years back and rode the American Eagle for the first time. I assumed it was a smaller roller coaster until my friend's sister asked "Is Danny afraid of big rides?" and my jaw literally dropped. I nearly lost my glasses on the first hill. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.

Ike had some pretty nice landing in Smash 4 compared to Brawl, which was nice although he was pretty bad at the start of the game even if they made him faster. Then they decided to buff him and he got even faster. His dash attack was abysmal, even in Brawl. I'm glad they made it more worthwhile.

If you're afraid of heights there's nothing wrong with passing on the big rides but if you do go, don't wear glasses or a hat that could fly off.

Wow, Pally looks great as a blonde.
Supposed to be a "true Viridi" rework of Pally's Viridi alt with blonde hair, hazel? eyes, green stocking(s), and a tan, white staff.

Also, I just realized that the first black-haired, playable lady was Wii Fit Trainer followed by Bayonetta. The first brunette was Zelda who if she hadn't been a brunette in Twilight Princess, would have meant no brunettes in Smash. There would still be brunettes through alts and brunets.

Male Wii Fit's is definitely grey

Female's is darker, but I guess you could say it's dark grey/light black (which is like 2 different descriptions for the same thing lol)

Looks like going blonde gave her cataracts.

I'm sure there's a lesson in there somewhere....

lol people are crying that this "untechable knockdown" descovery is a worse design than tripping.

I find it funny people are complaining about that when 90% of dtilts still have the % chance of causing tripping (even when the pop you up) because this mechanic even when play for it is gonna effect 1 stock out of maybe 40 matches

it actually comes into play a lot for characters like fox and meta knight

I'm just amazed people see it as a bad thing

but this community does love crying about things so I guess it isn't really that surprising

I'm not too worried about it. But I'm used to much worse crap. Like getting grabbed and then just putting down the controller because I'm pretty much dead. Or almost the same thing with getting knocked offstage. Or getting punished for landing a move. God bless Melee Roy.

either we just see colour completely differently or wii fit trainer's hair is actually just black, because it totally looks grey to me
Grey, black... close enough. Fine, first black-haired, female character would be Bayonetta.

Eh, WFT's hair is like depending on the artist. Either she's this really pale, black-haired woman, a really pale brunette, a really pale grey-haired woman, or a really pale, light grey-haired woman. It's really weird. At least they get one thing consistent...

Looks like going blonde gave her cataracts.

I'm sure there's a lesson in there somewhere....
And in this image, her her and eyes are clouds.
