I, and quite a few people at the Mewtwo boards are starting to get the impression that Mewtwo is really pretty misunderstood. So what you're saying is take the STRONGEST part of the bottom tier female crew, add them into one monstrosity, and we're left with Mewtwo, who's also widely considered low tier.
Most people tried him, made mistakes due to not fully understanding his moves (and then blaming them on glitchy hitboxes) that resulted in them dying at low percents, then got frustrated and never tried him again. This leaves a bad first impression that is very difficult to shake due to hardly anyone using him since.
But the truth is that once you do understand his moves you can pretty much stop almost any approach from your opponent, and punish mistakes fairly hard from almost any angle. He plays somewhat like a heavy in this regard but avoids many of the issues that hurt their viability; bad mobility (his is almost on par with Mario's, only losing in air acceleration but his specials compensate), poor recovery (you're not touching Mewtwo offstage unless he make a mistake, and don't let his worse than average ledge options fool you... he can do a lot more than those) and inability to threaten from a distance (you cannot underestimate the mental impact of a charged ball, and even uncharged ones are good for general use. Also he has a reflector to go with it, a combination no one else has.)
He has difficult matchups with a lot of top tiers but his combo ability is quite good on fastfallers so he's never quite out of the game.
Now, on another note, does anyone want to play?
